2. Can't open eps file with error that my copy out of date but if I have cloud version how can it not be latest version of illustrator?!

   Win 10 with CC subscription

   Can't open eps file on Illustrator, says my version not current enough. I pay for monthly cc subscription so wouldn't I by definition be on the latest?

3. File Save Incomplete?

   I was working on a file for about 8 hours yesterday and was continuously saving it. The autosave was also triggering throughout my work.

   However, when I started Illustrator today, the file is completely unchanged from its state on Monday. The thumbnail in the Home menu shows my progress from last night, but the file itself only contains the old data.

   There have been no other save issue on that disk. I was able to save an XD file's progress in the same directory — at the same time — last night (shown in attachment) before shutting down my PC.

   Windows 10 Pro Ver. 1909
   Intel i7-8700k
   16gb RAM

4. Slow opening of the first document!!!

   I don't know if it happens to others, an Illustrator on a Windows machine "I would say performing, quite a lot" but this problem happens to me I think at least from the CC2018 / 2019/2020 version.

   I start the software, open a new empty document, or open an existing document (even of small, insignificant dimensions) the document takes a long time to open (it is not immediate).
   If I open a second document it opens in the right time, then it works as it should.
   The same thing happens if I close Illustrator and restart it.

   But before it DID NOT HAPPEN with older versions of Ai.

5. Save dialog box not showing on 24.1

   At Saving a document for a first time, it only appear the window box with nothing on it. Until I change of Desktop, everything appear in the dialog box, then I can go back to the Illustrator desktop, put a name to the file and save without more issues. I've downgraded to previous release (24.0.3) and everything works fine again.
   I use Mac 10.15.3, Multiple Desktops (One for Photoshop, one for InDesign, one for Illustrator), iMac 5K 24 GB RAM - 2 GB VRAM. The Illustrator version failing: 24.1

6. The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [>MIT]

   I get the error "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [>MIT]" and once I hit the ok button it closes down. I have uninstalled three times, wiped all preferences, restarted the computer. Nothing I am doing is working. Help! TIA

   The tool is still there, but he team decided to hide the Knife tool from the Basic toolbar, based on the usage statistics, aiming to reduce clutter for new users.

   You can still access it. There are two options:

   1. Go to Window > Toolbars and pick Advanced, to view the classic tool layout, including all plugin tools added.

   2. Press Edit Toolbar button at the bottom of your current toolbar (with three dots), find the Knife there (it’s the last one in the Modify section), and drag it into the panel in the slot you find fitting (be careful not to insert it into a tool-group by mistake, it’s a tight wiggle).

8. CMYK Hex Code Color Change

   Windows 10 Pro 18362.719 / Adobe Illustrator 24.0.1. (64bit)

   I downloaded and opened a CMYK/Vector file I received through Google Drive, and a specific color on the file was slightly brighter than the color that is supposed to be.

   I tried to replace the specific graphic with the original color by typing the hex code manually, but it also changed to the brighter color.

   I heard it has been a common issue that has been around, but is there any way to keep the color?

9. color

   My colors in Illustrator are still displaying wrong.

   There is a discussion about it here, that claims the bug has been fixed, but it has not.

   I am up-to-date in my version 24.1. I changed my Thunderbolt display colors back to factory settings in hopes of that being the issue, but it did nothing.

   Please fix this bug. I am in the middle of making a postcard and it looks awful. Thank you.

10. Freezing and crashing constantly - menu gets messed up first

    Illustrator keeps freezing and frequently crashing. This is not a computer issue, it happened on my old computer and is still happening on my new Lenovo thinkpad. It happens the same way every time. First the menu bar gets corrupted (look at top menu photo attached). Then menus won't open. Then it crashes. Sometimes I can save first, but often not. I am losing a ton of work! I just lost a half hours work. I need this fixed. I have update illustrator several times it doesn't fix it. I'm attaching an image with the details of my system, but it has been happening on every computer I use regardless of the system.

11. Moving artboard with locked layers prompt warning

    In 24.1, every time I move the artboard with my layers locked, I get the warning: "Any hidden or locked objects in the artboard will not be moved." EVERY TIME!
    There is no "Don't show me this again" option and I am constantly adjusting artboards to fit customer's artwork.

12. Illustrator crashing (V24) when connected to Dell USB docking station

    I'm having random Illustrator CC crashes when I try to open the program while my PC is connected to a docking station via USB. I was trying to open a downloaded file, so I thought that was the issue. Every time I would try to open AI it would stop responding, so I would shut it down. Once I unplugged from the docking station it would start to work normally again. So I'm not sure if AI not responding is related the USB or maybe a file.

    The downloaded file was even moved out of the downloads folder and AI would still crash.

    still crashes...when i tried to print... there still is no fix to this annoying issue..

15. Symbol color management is different from color settings

    Symbol color management is different from color settings

    Example: Default CMYK Color profile is ISO coated v2 ECI
    RGB profile: sRGB
    When in CMYK file make a fill square in some color (for ex. 0-0-0-100) and create from this symbol, the color in symbol (symbol editing mode) stay 0-0-0-100, but symbol instance in file show the different color: 75-66-64-76.

16. A bug compounded with rotated line gradients, arrows, and appearances

    There are some conditions for reproduction.

    ・ Line with arrow
    ・ Set gradation to line color
    Two or more lines created by the appearance

    It is good to change the line width or move by "deformation" to check the change of the overlapped line.

    Rotate the object.
    Then click on the eye icon in the appearance panel to show or hide each line. The direction of the gradation of the line not touching should change one after another.

    I have confirmed this phenomenon in all versions from CS6 to 2020.
    A similar phenomenon was obtained with the vertical axis reflect. In my tests it didn't happen with horizontal reflect.

17. Clipboard not working properly

    When copying and pasting in Illustrator, the properties of the object/text etc are not carried over. The only way it seems to work is if you copy the item several times, which is getting tiresome and not practical if using the 'cut' option.

    For example, if I copy and paste anything on 1 artboard, and try to paste in the exact same spot on another artboard (using Paste in place or paste in front/back) it doesn't paste in the same place. Also when copying text it doesn't copy over all the properties (size, font, colour etc). Even when copying objects it changes the colour slightly when pasting it again.

    I have reset my preferences several times, please help.

    A possible common solution to this is to check if other applications — browser extensions, screenshot/buffer managers, etc. — steal the hotkey Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+L combination.

    Unfortunately, Illustrator can’t see other apps claiming hotkey at OS level, as can’t they.
