3. Save not working

   I am beyond frustrated! fix your freaking save function!!!!!!!!!!

   Working at a professional shop where time is a high priority I don't need to spend 5 minutes making changes only to find out in the RIP that the changes didn't work and I have to go back several times over making the same changes again and again!

4. Saving, Opening, & creating files Not Responsive with Unstable Internet Connection

   Illustrator saving, creating files, and opening files seems to be tied to an internet connection, and it really fails if the connection isn't strong/stable. And this was only an issue with Illustrator (found with 24.2.3 & 24.2.0) with Photoshop and Indesign continued to function normally.

   For two weeks I began experiencing very slow saving, it being "not responsive" for about 10 minutes to save any file. I eventually found it was tied to my internet connection. I recently switched my home network to data from a mobile hotspot which works find but isn't always stable. So the saving issue wasn't happening all the time, but most of the time.

   I eventually found that if I disabled my internet connection these operations, Saving, Opening, & creating files, began working normally again.

5. Scatter Brush doesn't align smoothly to curve

   Hi, I'm using Illustrator 24.2.3 on an Imac late 2015.

   Scatter Brush seems to have issues with curves. If I create a scatter brush from a single object, the line seems to follow the curve loosely in straight line segments, creating a very jagged effect. I've attached images to hopefully clarify. The thinner "smaller brush element" examples I have included are made from a small circle shape a little less than one pixel in diameter. The "jagged" issue seems to disappear, however, if the curve is large enough (see the 11-inch small-brush-circle below) OR until the stroke weight increases to something over 6pt. (at which width this specific brush no longer serves its intended purpose). At the suggestion of a very helpful commenter, I tried making a larger brush element to begin with (a dot of almost half an inch diameter, about 32 pixels), and that seemed to solve the problem at first. But once I brought the point size of the brush down closer to the width I needed, the problem arises again. Hopefully that all makes sense! I would be happy to give more clarification, examples, videos, etc if needed. Thanks!

6. Blinking Cursor absent in Artboard panel

   Operating system: Mac OS 10.14.6
   Illustrator version: 24.2.3

   Hi, When typing inside the Artboards panel to name artboards the blinking cursor appears to be missing.

7. Info Panel doesn't scale down horizontally on Mac OS. Windows version scales fine. (MacOS 10.15.5)

   Tried several 5k iMacs to double check this wasn't a fluke, can't scale the Info Panel down on either one, use to be able to scale it down quite a bit (scaling works fine on the Windows version) only seems to affect the Mac version (since v24.0) doesn't scale as far. See attached image for reference.

8. Text height is wrong

   When you select a specific text height, it is not correct. Say for instance you select 1 inch for text height but in reality the cap height is .68 inches. We work at a sign shop and a lot of jobs require a specific text height. This is misleading when I pick 1 inch for text height and it is no where near 1 inch in height. Can you please make it where the text height corelates to the actual cap height of the text, otherwise this feature is useless.

   Latest Illustrator releases have Font Height Options you can access form Character panel’s menu — they allow you to set font height as a capital / x-height specifically.

   The functionality has some minor issues (regarding rounded stems for some fonts, keeping the chosen option between launches), but otherwise it is very good. Please try it!

9. Saving Issues on Large Artboards

   I am working in the Illustrator 2020 with Windows 10. The issue I have is that when I initially work on a project with an artboard say 300"x300" it works great and seems to save just fine. However after I close out and go to re-open the saved file it comes in at 10% scale. My new artboard is 30"x30". Am I missing something? I feel like the file should remain how you saved it.

10. Annoying glitch, that blocks UI items and makes me restart application

    Windows 10
    AI 24.0.1

    While working in AI, I can randomly encounter annoying glitch, which blocks any UI items and makes me restart application. The main thing is that application continues working - you can choose tools with keyboard shortcuts, but UI become buggy and you cannot choose any tool by mouse - nothing happens when you click on elements and you see some black rectangles instead of context menu. This situation happens absolutely randomly. I've attached some videos from mobile phone, there is clearly seen that happening.
    It happens more than once a day and it is really annoying. Tried to reinstall the application, we have even changed the PC hardware and still no luck to deal with it...Please help

12. Drop shadow results are unusual when converted to grayscale

    Version: 23.1 and 24.2.3
    phenomenon:
    1. Create an object
    2. use drop shadow from appearance menu
    3. From the Edit menu, select Edit Color and then Convert to Grayscale.

    After conversion, the drawing of the drop shadow is not normal.
    There will be a problem even if you save it as a PDF.

    Version 22.1 does not have this problem.

14. Subsequent document saves

    Whilst working on a document in the latest version of Illustrator, any subsequent saves after the initial first saves is not guaranteed to have saved. Instead I may find a temp file in the folder alongside the original version rather than the fresh updated document. This is the first time in any versions of Illustrator that I have experienced this and am extremely worried as to what other documents have supposedly been updated but haven't really?

    Before you ask, yes, I did refresh my folders and also opened the illustrator file to only find that the changes made have not been implemented. The temp files did however have the changes on them and so after opening the temp files, I cleared the folder and saved a fresh Illustrator file, as per the attached screen capture of my waste bin.

15. illustrator bug erasing files

    I save all files locally. Yesterday i made a 'v2' of a project, saved in the same location as the 'v1', had both opened and worked on the v2, and exported PNGs from it to use in another app (saved frequently between edits). Today I discovered the PNGs and v1 are still in the folder, but not the v2.

    It is not listed in my Mac's 'recent files', it doens not turn up in search, it is not in the cloud storage, i did not use an external, and I also did not accidentally erase the file-go into the trash- and accidentally erased it again for good.

    Is anyone else beginning to experience files just dropping off the face of their computer? This only started for me after the previous Illustrator error of 'an all black screen when having more than one file open' stopped.

16. Magnifying and Hand tool for macOS Catalina 10.15.6 stopped work since upgrading to Illustrator v24.2.3

    Reseting the Preferences does not resolve the issue. Turning off animated zoom does not help either.

17. When closing all tabs (Cmd + Option + W), Illustrator instantly crashes.

    Sometimes I have multiple tabs open, and I want to close all of them at once instead of each individually. Cmd + Option + W is a common Mac shortcut to close all tabs. In previous versions of Illustrator, this worked as expected. As of 24.2.1 on 10.15.6 version of Catalina, it crashes every time.

18. Asset export password bug 24.2.3

    Illustrator info: 24.2.3 (64bit)

    System info:
    Windows 10

    Steps:
    If I export artboards to pdf using the asset export window - each file will be password protected without me specifying it.

    This only happens if the last pdf I saved manualy (using save as) was password protected. Asset export will use the same password that I entered for this file.

    This would be a nice feature if it was an option you could select or de select, but not when it happens without informing me.

    The only workaround I know of, is to save a dummy pdf with the correct settings before using the asset export, needles to say this is a damper on workflow efficency.

    The presets used does not have password protection enabled. I am reasonably sure you can't put passwords in the presets actually. I tried now, and the password protection option was not enabled when I applied the preset.

19. Can’t align all objects within group

    Hello,
    I've seen that this is claimed that it is fixed on a previous update, but I have the latest (24.2.3) and still have issues.

    Situation:
    4 text layers in a 2nd level subgroup
    Selection of three out of four layers and the Align/Distribute is working as expected (align to Selection selected)
    Selection of all four layers (or group layer) and the Tool isn't working on 'Align to Selection' basis. It's working correctly as 'Align to Artboard'

    How am I supposed to align all layers in a Group? The only workaround is to align all layers but one and then align the remaining layer alone..

20. Enable Missing Clyph Protection

    Normally, if a font is not found, the text background is highlighted.
    Text is not highlighted when I apply appearance.

    setting -> type -> Enable Missing Clyph Protection
    This is enabled.

    ■Japanese
