Font Preview Size
In Illustrator 24.2.3,
We are not able to change the Font Preview Size in the preference Dialogue in/under the Type Tab, and you also do not have the same feature in the Type Menu, which is the right place to set the Font Previews size default,
we are also not able to see the Font names in the written text as a preview in the Font/Character Menu.6 votes -
Select Same Stroke Weight does not.
2019 iMac running OS 10.15.4, AI CC 23.1.1
Shouldn't "Select Same ***" actually select ALL the items identical to the one item selected? I am working on a master file for Nutrition Facts panels, and cannot truly select every rule that is of a particular weight. REALLY Frustrating!

Saving documents
Please restore the save parameters. Or at least give a prompt if the save gets interrupted. My saves keep getting interrupted and I often loose the changes to the original file if I have to save as a different format, like a PDF. It's been very problematic and I have had to reproduce my original files once I lose the changes while trying to save a low-res PDF, for example. Thank you!

SVG files doesn't open correctly. - Illustrator
I have added as attachment the .svg files which aren't opened correctly, it is kinda only showing the filling.
This problem accures in Illustrator Windows, and iPad OS, didn't tested on mac right now, but i don't have big hope.
My guts tell me that there is a newer SVG standard, which isn't implemented yet?

shift does not create square artboard, but uses previous proportions
illustrator 2020 - 24.2.3
mac os catalina 10.15.6in the newest version of illustrator, creating a new artboard while pressing shift just creates an artboard at the same dimensions as the previous one, rather than as a square. having to take the extra steps to manually type in exact square dimensions is a real time suck when i have to create many different sizes on one document. there should be a way to get that old setting back!

SVG Tiny 1.2 :: x/y attributes in svg element
It looks like Illustrator believes that x/y are valid attributes for the 'svg' element when exporting as Tiny 1.2. Based on reading the spec, I'm not entirely sure this is true.

Josef Pro font disappears as you type
I am trying to type the word "Communications" in Adobe Illustrator. If I use any other font, it types fine and looks fine. When I use Josef Pro, the "ti" goes missing and only shows "Coomuncaons". When I change from Josef Pro to any other font, I can see the "TI". I tried this is other applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and this problem does not happen. It's definitely an issue with Illustrator.
Unfortunately, I cannot use another font because our company logo uses this Josef font.
Please help.1 voteIllustrator tries to load a ligature from the font and can’t get one. Got resolved with unchecking the 'Standard Ligatures' button in the Window > Type > OpenType panel.
If you have a similar problem with a different font, please try the same thing and comment.

Expanded Layers Slows Performance
Illustrator 24.2.3 (64bit)
Windows 10 ProWhat the title says. If I expand my top layer in the layers palette and try to edit the text on an artboard using my keyboard arrow keys to navigate the cursor, the cursor is super laggy.
If I collapse the top layer and navigate the text inside the boxes, the cursor is much faster.
Expanded layers seems to take up much more processing power ...to the point I can barely scrub through the text.

Clicking "Add to Dictionary" on the right-click context menu for spell check does not update red underline...
When adding a word to the spell-check dictionary using the right-click context menu, the underline remains under the word. Shouldn't that get removed after adding the word to the dictionary? It does not get removed from other instances of the word in the document either.

New document (File > New) window does not display options and has overlapping text
The "Create New Document" window doesn't display any options, just a blank panel. Also, the text is overlapping itself and unreadable. I cannot create a new document to any specified size.

File Save Window Font Styling Unreadable
(System: MacBook Pro 16" OS X 10.15 Illustrator 24.2.3)
When attempting to save a file, the save to window's text styling is nearly unreadable, the padding/margins are way too large, making the paragraphs very thin. Select buttons are pushed below fold, and window needs to be expanded to full screen in order to select where to save file.

Edit Multiple Gaps at once not possible
When a selection contains Dashed Lines with different Dash lengths, but equal Gaps, the Gaps can not be edited together.
Ai copies the entered Gap value to the Dash size.

export dxf
When in large canvas mode, I can't export a DXF. nowhere in the "known limitations" document does it mention this. I can export other regular canvas size documents as DXFs in the same session of illustrator.

Expanding simple paths autogenerates dozens of unnecessary Bezier points
Drawing 2 overlapping shapes or paths (or shapes expanded from paths) could once be reliably split/trimmed/etc. cleanly using Pathfinder tools.
Currently, doing so autogenerates dozens of unnecessary Bezier points. This can be cleaned up using the Smooth tool, but becomes a tedious process, especially given that the same cleaned shape will behave the same way if Pathfinder is used again.
This is a critical part of my workflow that's become substantially disrupted by whatever change was made under the hood in the past 6 years.
My hope is that with the change to other drawing tools, this is a preference…

GPU Performance is deeply broken - UI overlay refresh issue
Within about 20-30 min of starting illustrator with GPU Performance enabled, everything goes haywire.
It seems to be an issue with UI overlays such as art board bounding boxes and shape paths/points. As you pan about or adjust a shape, it seems that old overlays are not disposed and new overlays are just drawn on top resulting in layers and layers of overlays. The overlays are cleared if you zoom but when you start to pan or manipulate shapes again, the overlays continue to populate on screen.

Messed preview when opening multiple files
Last file opened in Illustrator transforms the preview of all previous files to look like that last one I opened so I can not differentiate files because they all appear the same from tab to tab.

Bring back CS5 image trace controls and results, PLEASE!!
Over the years, each update in Adobe Illustrator has resulted in poorer trace results for complex line work. I specifically keep an old Mac so I can run CS5 just to trace. Please bring back the advanced controls CS5 had so illustrators such as myself can use the updated version of Adobe Illustrator to trace hand sketched work. I've attached a sample to show you results from CS5 trace and the current Adobe Illustrator.
