1. Illustrator will not start. Adobe Illustrator quit unexpectedly during the previous launch....Run Diagnostics or Launch Ilustrator

   Illustrator was working fine for the last year on this computer and yesterday decided it did not want to start anymore. All other adobe products open just fine, except illustrator. I've been searching for the last hour for answers and nothing. What gives adobe.

   I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, adobe cc cleaner, deleted prefs, and still keeps crashing.

   Here's what happens:
   1. Click on launch Illustor from Creative Cloud app. The Creative cloud app blinks for a second as if its trying to open illustrator but nothing.
   2. Click on Launch again. Popup - Adobe Illustrator quit unexpectedly....Click Run Diagnostics or Launch Illustrator.
   3. I've tried both. Same result, get a pop up saying Adobe illustrator CC 2017 has stopped working.

   Nothing works. Very frustrating!

   Here is the error from Visual Studio when hitting the debug button:

3. Snap to Point causes jumping with long Guides

   I'm using very long guides to create a custom angled grid, and use Snap to Point to snap paths to intersections of those guides. However, sometimes the Snap to Point causes "jumping", i.e. it tries to snap to the intersection, but when it does, it scrolls the document a tad upwards, and hence goes immediately out of snap. Sometimes it even causes jumps of hundreds of millimeters. It doesn't always happens, but only with some guides intersecting in some points. I cannot really say what actually makes it happen.

   I created a test file to where I isolated only three objects, the path with three vertices and two long guides intersecting. when trying to move the middle vertex to the guide intersection, it always jumps. It also happens if I paste them to a new document. It also happens even if I move the guides anywhere on the document.

   It only happens with guides, not when I release them back to paths. But, if I release and re-make guides, the problem still persists.

   However, strangely enough, if I take the diagonal guide and cut & paste (Paste in Place) it back to the same document, the problem goes away. This happens if I make the cut & repaste with either guides or guides released to paths and remade to guides.

   The guides were originally created en masse with just two lines and duplicated with Blend (thousands of lines), and then duplicated in different angles. I'm not sure if that affects this problem.

   (I'd just use paths to help alignment, but with thousands of lines the guides seem to burden the rendering much less.)

   I wonder if you can still replicate the issue.

   You never shared the test file you said you had, so it’s somewhat hard to replicate this. Also a video would be helpful as well.

5. Node.js: Server-side Javascript has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem

6. Illustrator shows spinning circle - tried everything

   I can use the mouse, but the cursor has a spinning wheel even outside Illustrator, and the menus don't work. I've been through checklists about install/reinstall, remove user preference folder, in Illustrator as in other products, I've tried moving all the fonts I could from the fonts folder. I've rebooted multiple times. I've tried reinstalling Illustrator. After doing all this, I get error messages such as "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (SExi)", "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (CANT)". I'm currently also using After Effects - I removed the user preferences using the Ctrll - Shift - Alt keys.

7. No DPI resolution in export file when export for screens

   When export I use export for screen, there is no DPI resolution in the exported files.

   Illustrator 21.1.0 - macOS
   1. Create a new document
   2. Create a simple element like a rectangle with 200 x 200 pixel
   3. Set the document size to 200 x 200 pixel
   4. Export it for screens
   5. Generate 3 diffrent files with the scale factor of 29, 58 and 87 pixel
   6. Save / Export the files
   7. Open the file in preview or Photoshop
   8. You can see that the images doesn't contain any DPI information

8. The "HDV 1080" preset needs fixing

   The "HDV 1080" preset resolution is 1920x1080. Small point, but the resolution of HDV is 1440x1080, so the naming of it is kinda wrong. I think in Photoshop, AE & Premiere, it's referred to as the "HDTV 1080" preset, so I think it's probably a mistake/typo by someone at Adobe.

   Also, the preset gives you an extra artboard which is 14400 x 14400 px for some reason (I imagine it's also a bug), so when you try to export your file, it always defaults to exporting this artboard unless you delete it. Again, small thing but clearly a mistake and kinda annoying when you do it several times a day.

9. Link location mistaken for other document's link location

   When opening a specific document, links are found missing.

   When I open the document nevertheless, click on a link and check the location, the path it shows is one that was used in a previously opened, unrelated document.

   When my colleague opens the document on her computer, everything is fine.

10. Illustrator won't open more than one file at a time.

    I have version 21.1.0 (64 bit) running on Windows 10 (more system details in attached png). I am not able to open more than one file at a time. What happens:

    1. I open a file.
    2. I double click to open another AI file (other file opening methods have same results).
    3. Nothing happens. One file remains open. I might see the spinner mouse for a sec but the second file never opens.
    4. If I try to close the first file, leaving Illustrator open, and open a new file, Illustrator becomes unresponsive and I have to close it via the Task Manager.

    -So every time I need to open a new file I have to completely close Illustrator and restart it.

    -My co-worker with the exact same set up has the same issue.

    -We're been experiencing this issue for at least a few months.

11. Hitting Enter/Return to confirm after modifying values (Stroke, Opacity, Etc) in the Top Toolbar Opens a Move Dialog Box Instead

    When modify values such as opacity in the toolbar, i have always hit enter/return to confirm changes. As of recently however, this now opens a Move dialog box instead of submitting my changes. (See the attached gif for an example)

    If there is something wrong about my workflow please let me know, but I don't currently see any other way of confirming these types of minor edits.

    After several rounds of cancelling the move dialog, the changes will miraculously go through, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why. As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating and has slowed my productivity to a crawl.

12. Fonts Slow EVERYTHING Down

    Fonts are the slowest feature in programs from MS Office to Adobe. This problem just caused me to lose work because AI shut down while trying to figure out how to manage a standard font with which I was working. Thanks for nothing AI and your simpleton font generators. You're fired.

13. FILE Corruption - Illustrator will not open AI files. Adobe CC/Windows 10.

    just trying to open AI files to work in ILLUSTRATOR. POS won't open. After reboot, won't open. How was the subscription model supposed to be better?

14. Zoom artefact

    Illustrator 21.1.0

    When I use a very high zoom (25 500 %), paths appear distorded or even disappear.

    It happens when GPU rendering is off as well as when it's on.

    When using the pen tool, if I move the object or try to undo an incorrect anchor placement I cannot undo what I've done by using keyboard commands or Edit > Undo

16. Missing items when saving as PDF, when exporting as PDF, and when placing .ai files in InDesign

    I have a significant problem with items that are missing from my .ai document with any of the following:

    • save as PDF
    • export as PDF
    • Place an .ai file in InDesign

    I have tried all of the various workarounds I've found online, including turning off Save in Background and Export in Background. I have tried Flatten Artwork. I have tried moving the items into other layers. I have even tried making a new document and copying/pasting the affected pages into that document.

    The items are even missing in the QuickView file preview. ... But all of the relevant items are still clearly visible in Illustrator. It's not an issue with the Layer settings — the material in those Layers/Sublayers is present on every other page throughout the document when exported. It's an issue on only a single page.

17. Texto desbordado

    Estoy usando Illustrator 2026 Versión 30.8.2 y la aplicación de para las tipografías RightFont 2026 Versión 10.2.1 (ambas actualizadas) y cuando creo un archivo que contiene cajas de texto con un área específica y utilizo 1 sola tipografía en Bold para los títulos y Regular para el párrafo general y solamente agrego 1 caracter numérico con desplazamiento vertical (ya que expresa un exponente), al guardar el archivo, lo hace de forma correcta, pero al cerrarlo y abrirlo al día siguiente, las cajas de texto aparecen con el texto desbordado a pesar de mantener las mismas características de tracking y escala horizontal creadas anteriormente.

18. Severe object dragging lag in Illustrator 30.8.2 after macOS 27 update

    Environment: macOS 27, Adobe Illustrator 30.8.2

    Problem: Since upgrading to macOS 27, dragging objects with the mouse or trackpad no longer works smoothly in Illustrator. The cursor moves normally, but the selected object remains stationary for several seconds before suddenly jumping to a new position.

    Steps to reproduce:

    Open Illustrator and create a new document.

    Draw a rectangle or create a text object.

    Select the object and attempt to drag it with the mouse or trackpad.

    Expected: The object follows the cursor continuously and without delay.

    Actual: The cursor moves normally, but the object does not respond immediately and subsequently jumps to a different position.

    Additional diagnostics:

    Occurs with text, rectangles, and other objects.

    Occurs in all documents, including new ones.

    Both mouse and trackpad are affected.

    Moving objects with the arrow keys works normally.

    Dragging in other macOS applications works normally.

    Disabling GPU Performance does not help.

    Disabling Smart Guides does not help.

    Restarting Illustrator does not help.

    Updating Illustrator to 30.8.2 does not resolve the issue.

    No Wacom drivers or third-party window-management utilities are installed.

    Checking Input Monitoring permissions did not resolve the issue.

    Suspected cause: Regression in Illustrator's mouse/trackpad drag-event handling following the macOS 27 upgrade.

    Please investigate this as a potential macOS 27 compatibility issue.

    PS: no such issue in Photoshop.

    Problem: Since upgrading to macOS 27, dragging objects with the mouse or trackpad no longer works smoothly in Illustrator. The cursor moves normally, but the selected object remains stationary for several seconds before suddenly jumping to a new position.

    Steps to reproduce:

    Open Illustrator and create a new document.

    Draw a rectangle or create a text object.

    Select the object and attempt to drag it with the mouse or trackpad.

    Expected: The object follows the cursor continuously and without delay.

19. Excessive Illustrator file size

    I recently updated to latest Illustrator version, and for some unknown reason files are now saved with a way too much size.

    For example - a blank file, brand new, is more than 1.5 MB and a file with 4 very simple vector elements is more than 12MB.
