Problem with Type on a Path after ver. 26.1 update
Prior to updating Adobe Illustrator to ver. 26.1, a drawing with Type on a Path appears as it should. After the update, the text is positioned in a different place along the path. This is confirmed on a second computer. The same file opened on the second computer prior to the update appears normal, and after the update, the text is shifted.

9 votesI am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.2.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Missing fonts issue
It's not reading Adobe fonts. It keeps saying to activate the font every time I open a document. The program hangs trying to activate a font, making the file not work properly "without" a font that was perviously activated.

I have to keep re-activating fonts
For no seemingly obvious reason, and quite randomly, my fonts wont activate when I open Illustrator. I have to turn off "Enable Adobe Fonts" in CC and then turn it back on. This is getting very frustrating -

Changing leading up and down in Character panel makes it 1 or 1295 pt
When the leading is set to (Auto), using the up/down arrow UI buttons in the character palette to change the leading results in weird leading sizes. Toggling up from Auto using the up arrow in the UI produces a leading of 1 pt. Toggling down from Auto produces a leading of 1295 pts!

Large Amounts of Text overrun text area, disregard justification
I'm using Illustrator CC (2017).
I am creating a 6'x4' poster, where a single text box holds the entire text of the Bible (~730,000 words) as a single string of text (regular spaces between words, but no paragraph returns) in Helvetica Neue Lt Std, 107 Extra Bold Condensed, 3 pt size with 2.7 pt leading, all caps, full justification, default hyphenation. I am using a text wrap around a compound object with a transparent fill to create a negative space in the midst of this text block (in my case, that compound object is text converted to a shape, so…9 votesThanks for reporting this bug Illustrator Team really appreciate this.

中韓フォントの文字組みを変更してもアキが変わらない
フォント「思源黑體 TW」の文字組みを「なし」や「行末約物半角」などに変更しても、アキ量が変化しない現象がありました。
上記現象が発生したバージョンは下記の通りです。OS：Windows 10 Pro
Illustrator CC：V 29.1、V 29.2、V 29.3.1（V 29.2.1、V 29.3は調べてません）
なお、V 29.0、V 28.7.3 は当該現象は発生していません。問題発生時の手順：
・スクリプトを使いCSVデータを読み込んで文字情報を取得、文字をイラストに書き込む
・文字入力後、フォント「思源黑體 TW」へ変更
上記どちらでも問題が発生します。想定していた結果：

この２つの全角、半角のアキが同じ（変化がない）となっております。
（どれを選んでも「なし」と同じ状態です）他のフォント（下記）で試してみましたが、アキ量の変化は確認できました。
・源ノ角ゴシック JP
・A-OTF UD新ゴ Pr6N L
・メイリオ
・游ゴシックIllustratorフォーラムにも投稿し他の方にもご検証いただいたところ、日本語以外（繁体字、簡体字、ハングル）のフォントで同様の現象が起きているようです。
また、InDesign20.1(2025)でも同様の現象が起きているようです。バグであれば是非ともご対応いただけると幸いです。

Paragraph Styles in Illustrator are Hot Garbage
Adobe, fix this already. Don't waste any more time investing in AI **** until this kind of stuff is fixed.

Slanted instances are not properly sorted
When a variable font has ***** axis and right leaning instances (common oblique styles) the Oblique instances gets sorted before the Romans on the font menu dropdown. See attachment.
According to the OT spec, right leaning instances must use negative values, so I‘m guessing Adobe’s font menu is sorting instances by slnt coordinates in ascending direction when it should be in the other direction.
This is not only bad and uncommon for users but is also pushing font developers to make fonts against the spec just to circunvent this situation. Plase fix.
Note. All the fonts tested have proper STAT…

Bullets are forced when pasting a text
Please take a look at the GIF.
I paste a text (using Paste without formatting) into a mixed selection, made with Select All command. The text has both bulleted and non-bulleted paragraphs.
I expect it to NOT have bullets enabled, since the first paragraph in the selection does not have it.
Instead, Illustrator forces bullets for the whole pasted text.8 votes -
Variable Font Changes
While working with a Variable Font in Adobe Illustrator 27.2, everything works fine, and I save and close the file I am working on. The next time I open the file in Illustrator, the Variable Font changes to an italic version. There is no easy fix to revert the text other than to select and adjust it.

ご報告いただいた内容を検証した結果、以下の現象を確認いたしました。
- 環境設定の「プレビュー境界を使用」が有効の場合、特定の効果が適用されているポイントテキストオブジェクトを変形パネルの幅（高さ）サイズフィールドで縦横比固定でリサイズすると、文字が正しくリサイズされない。
- 文字パネルのフォントサイズでリサイズする場合は、正しく演算される。
- 環境設定の「プレビュー境界を使用」が無効の場合は、特に問題は発生しない。
これは、以前のバージョンでも同じ現象が確認できました。
修正などの開発の進捗がありましたら、こちらで報告いたします。

行頭禁則文字に関わる和欧文間隔をカスタマイズ可能に！
Illustratorの日本語組版で、たとえばプリセットの文字組アキ量設定「行末約物半角」を元に、和欧文間隔を「0%」にカスタマイズしても、そのカスタマイズの結果は、何故か「行頭禁則文字」に分類される文字種には効果がありません。
※添付ファイルをご参照くださいませ（macOS Catalina上のCC2021にて作成）。日本語組版の中では、デフォルトの「25%」アキを「12.5%」あるいは「0%」としたいという作業は少なからず発生しますが、上記のような挙動では、作業者の負担になるばかりです。
可能であれば、「文字組アキ量設定和欧文間隔のカスタマイズが、行頭禁則文字にも効くように」改善することを希望します。
挙動を変更していただければ、作業者の負担も軽減され、喜んで受け入れられるに違いありません。なお、このような挙動の変更は、「文字組みアキ量設定に頼らずなんらかの方法で和欧文間隔を変更した既存ファイル」にはあまり影響がないものと考えますが、変更していただくならば、【その変更を周知】していただくことは大切なことだと申し添えておきます。

Strange symbol ('envelope' sign) appears at the end of pasted text
Why does the envelope sign appear when I copy text from somewhere else (like HEX color code copied or translation result text form Google Translate) and paste it into Illustrator?
Happens only on Windows it seems.

Text will not change fill colour to what has been selected
WIndows 10, Illustrator 23.0.3: After selecting text, I try to change the fill colour either using the eyedropper tool or the swatches panel. I expect the text to change to that colour. However, while the colour window shows the colour has been changed, the text doesn't actually change colour. I have to outline the text in order to get it to change colour.

As per attached screen shot , for the selected Text object your fill is below the Characters in appearance panel.
Can you kindly move the Fill above the characters and change fill. This will hopefully resolve your problem.
In order to identify the root cause , can you kindly provide us eyedropper setting snapshot ,you can find eyedropper settings by double click on eyedropper tool .Thanks

When opening my files I have the fonts missing
Missing Fonts. When opening my files I have the fonts missing. Meaning every font I used are all gone and even though I can see it in the preview but when opening the files the fonts are missing.

Glyph rendering bug with bitmap OT-SVG fonts
Glyphs that consist of a single-colored bitmap image are not rendered in text frames nor in the Glyphs panel.
When we start using them within a text frame, they also break the rendering of all subsequent characters (they disappear).
To reproduce, enter the character "m" in the attached AI file.

Selecting font for styled text
While trying to change the font of a styled text box by scrolling throgh the font list, the list glitches and closes. Sometimes selecting a different font randomly and sometimes there font of the text box stays the same.
Happening on multiple files with different-styled text. The issure does not seem to happen while working with regular-styled text.8 votesPlease accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. All Text Disappeared!
I saved my file as .aic but the next time I opened it all the text layers disappeared! Everytime I open the file it automatically creates a recovered version also, but still no text. I also cannot download the version from cloud that shows the last version I made with all the text still visible.

特定の状態のパス上文字を操作するとIllustratorがクラッシュする。
macOS 14.7.2／iMac27inch/i5/1TB/32GB
Illustrator ver.29.7.1再現手順
1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に楕円を描画する。
2. パス上文字ツールで楕円をクリックして楕円を対象にパス上文字を作成
3. 左右のブラケットを楕円の左右のアンカーポイントに合わせる。
4. 中央のブラケットを操作するとブラケットが反対側に飛んだり戻ったりする。
5. 4の挙動の後にクラッシュする。期待する結果
ブラケット操作時に安定して操作できる。実際の結果
ブラケットの操作が不安定で、高確率で最悪クラッシュする。回避方法
楕円の一部をはさみツールで切断しておくことで不安定な動作を回避可能。EN
Step to reproduce
1. Open a new document and draw an ellipse on the artboard.
2. Click on the ellipse with the Type on Path tool to create a Type on Path for the ellipse.
3. Align the left and right brackets with the left and right anchor points of the ellipse.
4. manipulating the center bracket causes the bracket to jump to the opposite side or back.
