   Free Transform of Text does not operate as expected; Text should rotate with the text box when using free transform - instead the text does not rotate. Having to stop my workflow to find the rotate command and then guess what angle I need to rotate is a time waster.

2. With "Snap to Point" on, the cursor doesn't change colour to indicate a snap to anchor will occur

   I just switched to AI 2017 from AI 2015 and i'm noticing this straight away. In preview mode and artwork modes. Turning on Smart Guides helps in some situations but in other cases it fails to identify a Snap when an anchor is around. Snap to Point should work independently of Smart Guides anyhow.

   Massively annoying.

   If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

3. Bounding box is incorrectly displayed on multiple highdpi displays

   When using multiple monitors with different Hi-DPI settings on Windows OS, the bounding box for the selected item is sometimes displayed incorrectly.
   I work on a dual display setup: my primary monitor is a 15.6inch 4K display @ 200% DPI scaling settings, and my second monitor is 24inch 2560*1440 display @ 125% DPI scaling.
   When working on a larger second monitor, the bounding box for a selected item is displayed at an incorrect position, which makes the work very difficult.

4. Not enough memory

   Have issues with CC 2017 (latest version) not being able to action things as not enough memory. Seems to be that 2GB limit that Ai imposes as my system has 64GB installed with at least 40GB free to use. The programme is also incredibly slow with anything complex. I reinstalled CS6 version, and that works faultlessly and fast with the same files, with no hesitation at all! It's at least 20x times faster than current Ai. I'm on a powerful Mac Pro with Sierra 10.12.6 and an NVIDIA 4GB GTX 970 graphics card. I have disabled GPU use as it often crashes AI. I put performance ahead of new features. There are so many vector programmes out there that work so much faster than Ai. There must be a fix as something is definitely seriously wrong here.

5. AI CC2017 has flatten my work file into an image automatically

   1. Illustrator 21.1.0

   2. I use a lot of paths and layers to create effects in AI, once done I saved it. When i reopen it to edit some features, I was shocked that it flatten all my paths into an image! Nothing I can do but re-do it, painful experience!!

   I re-do (painfully), saved, reopen.....it works fine. I used that AI file to do adaptation, by copy the whole layers (file A) and paste to other AI file art board (file B).

   But when I reopen file B to further edit, file B has turn into a flatten image....again. Luckily file A still working fine.

   I tried copy file A to file C (new document file).....the result is even weird. Some group in layers has flatten, but some are not.

   I use the same save/ export steps like CS5. I didn't touch any setting in save dialogue. I was not able to figure out why it flatten when I close the file.

   1. I should be able to amend the AI CC, the software shouldn't flatten it automatically. It caused me into a big trouble.

6. Bugged redraw/tearing when drawing a shape causes window to scroll

   1. Illustrator CC2017.1.0
   2. Click and drag with a shape tool (e.g. rectangle) and while dragging move to the edge of the window so it causes it to scroll.
   3. The window should redraw the newly visible parts of the document as the window scrolls them into view.
   4. Depending on whether GPU acceleration is enabled or not you get nothing or you get the edge pixels repeated endlessly during the scroll until you release the mouse.

7. Strokes on text container disappear with Transform effect

   Deselect it.
   Direct select the container path.
   Give it a stroke.
   Select the text box and apply the Transform effect.
   Stroke disappears.

9. Strange behaviour when outlining COLRv1 fonts

   I have been running into some issues with COLRv1 fonts when turning them into outlines: The normal font renders as intended, when outlined some colours turn off one of the RGB channels (turning white to yellow). See the example in the screenshots where the white (circled) is turned into yellow. This is independent from the "yellow palette" of the letter, in other COLRv1 fonts white also turns into full RGB yellow.

   I don't believe this is caused by the "white" (as the error also turns, for instance, black into blue, removing a single RGB channel as well). I suspect it's converting the layers (of which the colorfont is constructed) in a faulty way.

   This happens in Illustrator '26 (30.3 to 30.7), but I have also seen it happen in Illustrator '25, though only rarely. It doesn't happen in CMYK files: only RGB files and regardless of color space.

   Noto Emoji also creates a lot of rendering bugs, but as I haven't created the font I don't know much of it's construction. But perhaps good to take along. This font also includes some gradients which are flattened to bitmaps in a RGB file. See the hat and hair of the 🏌️ emoji when outlined [ Golfer (U+1F3CC) ].

10. Color of font randomly changes when opening file

    Tahoe 26.6.1
    Illustrator v 30.7
    I open a file I was just working on only 5 minutes prior to find that more than 75% of my text has changed color to a random color in my swatch panel. This has been happening consistently since updating to the latest version about 15 days ago. I can even see the color change when I hit space bar to preview the file before opening it. The PDF versions of the files remain fine, no random color changes.

11. Eyedropper with Shift held doesn’t pick the rendered stroke color unless clicked very precisely into path

    If I have an outside stroke (thick enough for clarity, like in the GIF), I can’t use Shift-mode with the Eyedropper tool to pick the color from the actually rendered stroke — I have to click very precisely the path itself, or I get the fill color. Same with the inside stroke.

    With a normal center-aligned stroke the half within the path gives the fill’s color, and the outside half gives the stroke’s one.

    All three are wrong. Shift should force the tool to pick the color directly under the cursor, the one that is rendered.

12. Repeat makes some objects without a stroke loose fill

    When several objects with no stroke get selected and then converted into a Repeat Grid object, all but the first object vanish.

13. Text changes colour at random

    A file appears correct in Illustrator 2026 and correctly produces a PDF (save a copy) when the original Illustrator file is still open. Yet when the Illustrator file is then saved, closed and then reopened, the Illustrator file has errors with the colour of text changing at random. This is happening on multiple computers running MacOS (Silicon). This error only happens in Illustrator 2026 and not 2025.

    The text that changes varies, even within one document. Sometimes it is a single piece of text that changes, sometimes it is all of the text. The colour it changes to is random, ie sometimes black, sometimes a spot PANTONE colour, sometimes a process colour swatch.

    We have also had other weird things happen such as a PDF appearing incorrectly in Acrobat but when opening that same PDF back in Illustrator, the colours appear as they should.

    We tried to find specific circumstances for when text changes colour but could not. A file that was getting corrupted 30 minutes ago, failed to be corrupted when we tried the same things later. The only consistent feature is that it is Illustrator 2026 and not any other version of Illustrator.

14. Memory usage continuously increases over time in Illustrator 2026 and is not released properly (macOS M4 Max)

    Workflow

    I use Illustrator as a visual reference board containing an extremely large archive of linked images (not embedded). I arrange thousands of reference images on large canvases to compare composition, color, style, motion, and visual ideas. This workflow is essential for my art direction and animation production because spatial comparison is much more efficient than browsing images individually.

    Illustrator 2026 performs significantly faster than Illustrator 2025 with this workflow, which is a great improvement.

    Issue

    I compared the same Illustrator file in both Illustrator 2025 and Illustrator 2026.

    Immediately after opening the same file:
    - Illustrator 2025 uses approximately 5.5 GB of memory.
    - Illustrator 2026 uses approximately 24.2 GB of memory.

    This higher initial memory usage seems acceptable because Illustrator 2026 performs much faster.

    However, after approximately 30 minutes of normal work on the same file, Illustrator 2026's memory usage continuously increases to approximately 77.5 GB, while swap memory reaches approximately 29 GB.

    No additional Illustrator documents were opened during this period. I simply continued working with the same file.

    In previous tests, I also observed that even after closing all documents and leaving only a new blank document open, Illustrator continued to retain a very large amount of memory. Memory was only released after quitting and restarting Illustrator.

    Illustrator 2025 is slower with the same workflow, but it does not show this continuous memory growth.

    This behavior appears to be a memory leak or cached memory that is not being released correctly.

    I attached two screenshots:
    1. Immediately after opening the same Illustrator file.
    2. Approximately 30 minutes later while working with the same file.

    Please investigate this behavior, especially for workflows involving very large linked-image reference libraries used for visual comparison in art direction, animation, concept art, and design.

15. Freeform Gradient fails to apply / disappears on existing objects

    I have a problem with the Freeform Gradient tool in Illustrator. When I apply it — whether in linear (lines) or points mode — the fill appears empty, the gradient never actually applies. It's even affecting other objects that already had this type of gradient applied in previous documents; when I open them in Illustrator and try to copy or move them, the gradient disappears and the shape turns transparent.

16. Content of Dynamic Symbols moves when moved with the Selection tool.

    It was recently mentioned on the Illustrator forum that the content of Dynamic Symbols is shifting when the symbol is moved with the black selection tool. Changing the type to Static seems to solve the problem.

17. Memory error after exporting in EPS (ID -108)

    On Illustrator 30.6 every time I export a multipage file to eps format, every artboard as a single file, the file exported are ok, but if I return to the original AI file to save the changes I receive a memory error (see the screenshot) then is not possible to save the AI file no more, and I have to use the SAVE AS command to save a new AI document from the original.
    This bug appeared in Illustrator 30.6

18. Latest update (30.6) = Extreme Slowdown

    Since the latest update (30.6), with latest MacOS, Illustrator has become almost unusable. Clicking on anything takes about 2-3 seconds and if you move or try to double-click – heaven help you...

    Needs an urgent fix!

19. Freeform Gradient stops vanish, can’t be placed or edited

    When trying to "edit gradient" in the Freeform Gradient tool I found that the handles disappear/glitch and don't allow me to place or change any of the values. I have tried in both positions (the top toolbar and right-side menus) but both times, even upon a restart and reset of performance, that the handles are not responding at all. I also cannot add stops in the tool window, I can only change the (new) "Method" dropdown box, which, in either setting, does not fix anything.

    I am on the latest version of illustrator (30.5.1) on Desktop Mac.

20. COMMAND F (PASTE IN PLACE) NOT WORKING!!!

    paste in place is not working all of a sudden. Command F acts like command V. It just pastes randomly. Even selecting paste in place from the menu doesn't work. This is incredibly annoying and the enemy of precision. PLEASE RESTORE!!!!
