  1. Bounding Box suddenly changes its size for rotated objects

    Depending on rotation of linked file the bounding box scales extra large. No groups. Linked PSD file. Windows 10, Illustrator 25.0.1.

  2. Some freeform gradients change when selected with one or more other objects

    The problem always seems to affect the same objects and certain color groups. I've attached two pictures: the first shows the gradient I created, the second shows how the gradient changed the instant I selected it with another object.

  3. Export for screens

    I just realised that "Asset Export" doesn't retain the CMYK colour mode. This is a huge problem. All the time I've been exporting the PDF's from my CMYK working colour mode, only to discover that my PDF's have been converted to RGB instead. Why one earth do you do this?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Curse you Adobe!!

    If you don't include the ability to export files as CMYK from Asset Export, then make the darn PDF, JPG, and SVG easier to export!!!!!!!!!

    Why the heck do you have to make things so **** difficult for your users?! I don't understand you!!!!!

  5. Downsampling not working properly with Extra large artboards

    When saving into a PDF file larger than 225.5417" it uses the new extra large artboard feature (since version 24.2). This applies a scaling factor of 10 so that the file can be viewed properly in Acrobat.

    The issue is that if you downsample your images it doesn't take into account the scaling factor. This means for a 1000" document, if I want to downsample to 300 dpi/in, I will need 300 000 dpi. But, the downsampling tools views the document as being 100" instead, and I end up with 30 000 dpi. So the end result is a 30dpi/in…

  6. Illustrator not outlining type correctly

    I've only started to encounter this recently and it doesn't happen with all fonts. When I outline certain typefaces - such as your Source Sans - it outlines parts of some letters individually, such as the bar in the letter 'A' in the attached example, or does some bizarre detour as seen in both the comma and the apostrophe (the two most typical examples I could think of).

    All I am doing is outlining type with no stroke.

    I'm running Illustrator 24.3 and Catalina 10.15.6

  7. Sizing bug of objects with corner radius

    Create a rectangle 25mm x 25mm.
    Change corner radius to 1mm.
    Rotate the rectangle 45 degrees.
    Try to change the with or height to 25mm in the transform palette.
    You will get weird 24,7714mm, 25,0076mm, 24,9997 sizes.
    Illustrator 24.3 MacOS verion.
    It's a shame that such an expensive graphic program can't handle the basic task of sizing objects.

  8. Illustrator 24.3 on Windows(10): Warp effect not showing preview even though preview selected

    Even though I have checked the box to show previews for the Warp effect, changing styles does not show a preview of the styles. The only preview that is shown is the very first style that was chosen.

  9. Decimal points added to values - Precision issues

    I am operating on Windows 10 and just updated to Ilustrator 24.3.

    I am having all kinds of massive issues with precision when working in files created between Illustrator 24.1 and the most recent update at 24.3. When I create text and set the point size, I'll come back later to find that it is "48.002 pts" and that the horizontal scale is at "99.9987%" and it is no longer aligned at x: 1 in., y: 1 in., but has moved to "x: 1.005 in" and "y: .9998 in."   10. Stability update made Illustrator very unstable

    I noticed the 27/07/2020 update described itself as addressing stability issues, which I didn't have. Since the update ran, 3 hours ago, I've had three crashes - all when copying text and graphics together. My crash report crashed too.

  11. Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT] - Crashes and will not open application

    Illustrator 24.2 and 24.2.1
    Windows 10 Home

    I've been getting the following error since version 24.2 but was still able to open and do work. 

       The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT]

    Yesterday I chose to update to 2.2.1 thinking it might fix that error. Now I cannot open Illustrator at all. I am not an IT person, but I have already tried the following to fix it but to no avail:

    -Restarting my machine multiple times.
    -Uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator with options
    -Uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator with remove options
    -Going back to an earlier version
    -Allowing…

  12. Please Select a Key in Current Document

    When I attempt to align an object to a key object, I get an error stating Please select a Key in Current Document.

    I only have one file open containing one artboard.

    I've attempted to move the object I want aligned inside the artboard area as well and still get the same error.

    I've attached a screenshot for reference.

  13. Current bugs that are making it nearly impossible to get work done

    As I type this, I'm reinstalling AI for the second time this month. This time without saved prefs. Please, Adobe, make this storied and remarkable piece of software STABLE before you talk about giving us new features. I don't want a new icon, I want not to have to explain to my boss that I didn't get anything done this morning because my industry-standard software didn't work.

  14. Navigator does not change view

    In V24.02(win10, 64bit) the Navigator panel does not change the View. Wherever you click in the Navigator, the view is just moving in diagonal direction slowly.

  15. magically appearing anchor points

    When I join paths, use the pathfinder tools, or shapebuilder options, anchors that I DID NOT create, appear. There is no rhyme or reason to when it will decide to do it. So annoying. Over time this degrades the image when enlarging, shrinking, offsetting paths and a number of other features I don't want to waste my time listing. I don't care what you say about vectors and your program, I've been doing this a long time, it happens. I personally deal with vinyl plotters. Plotters don't like unnecessary or extra anchor points. It can slow down the cut process…

  16. Ghost element sneaks in my groups

    Hi!!

    I encounter a bug in Illustrator. You will find the description below but also a video that explains a lot better what I am trying to say.
    1) OS: Windows
    Version: 10.0
    System Architecture: x64
    Illustrator version: 24.1.2

    2) When I just try to select a group from the active window.
    3) I expect to only select element from this group
    4) Somehow there is a ghost element that I can see alone when I unselect my group. This ghost stays there and mess up my resizing then..

  17. SVG export with text – line breaks forcing text to convert to outlines

    I've been working on a project that requires SVG files with embedded text and have discovered what seems to be a bug.

    It seemed arbitrary at first, that some text objects would be converted to outlines while others would remain as text. I finally figured out that forced line breaks were the culprit, as illustrated in the screenshots I've attached. The problem is the same whether you use point type or area type objects.

    I'm currently running the latest version of Illustrator (24.1.2) on macOS High Sierra (10.13.6).

  18. Tracing large image gives worse results than with tracing a small portion of the same image

    When trying to trace a fairly large file with sparse graphics - the trace function appears to lower the resolution significantly, resulting in a junk trace. If I clip a small portion of graphics and trace that, it works fine. Shrinking the file before tracing didn't work (by half), I couldn't shrink any more without losing the fine grained art. I was able to make this work using a different product(which I really don't like). I use trace all the time, usually on smaller logos, which works fine. I suspect there is something in their algorithm that reduces the resolution…

  19. new project presets not appearing

    I am starting a course to learn Adobe Illustrator. However, when I click on "create new" the dialogue box that opens only populates with Adobe Stock templates. No matter if I click print, web, or mobile there are no presets or options for me to change the project settings. Kind of hard to begin the course if I can't create a project with the specific setting for my assignments.
