Hide edges not working
When choosing to hide edges of selected objects, 1 or more objects still have edges visible. I have resorted to back saving my documents as this feature is crucial for layouts.
4 votesAs far as I know, the auto-keying an object in a selection was a bug introduced in one of versions, not caught in time and slipped into the release, later fixed.
Since no object is forced as a key right now, I assume there is no need in having its bold outline to be hidden when Hide Edges is active, since these two factors rarely meet... However, if you have a workflow that requires to have both — I encourage you to file it as a feature request with some examples.

Rectangle tool draws slightly rotated rectangle
Update 24.2 - When drawing a rectangle (by selecting the rectangle tool, clicking on the artboard, and entering desired dimensions), the resulting rectangle is slightly rotated, skewed or tilted. It's not noticeable until it's viewed in outline mode.
To confirm this, I create a 1" x 1" square with the rectangle tool. Then drag the ruler origin to the top left anchor point. The transform palette confirms this anchor point is at x=0, y=0 (as expected). Then I select the top right anchor point and see that its coordinates are x=1, y=-.0022. The y-value should be 0.4 votesAs per the comment, the solution might be to check the Constrain Angle value in Preferences > General (Cmd/Ctrl + K) — it should be 0.

Default save location for "SAVE FOR WEB" in Illustrator 2020 (24.2)
Hello,
In version 24.2 of Illustrator the behavior of the SAVE FOR WEB (LEGACY) function has change. In version 24.1 and older, the default saving location vas the last saved location used, in version 24.2 it is the location where the Illustrator (.ai) file is located which is by default. I was wondering if this is a bug or voluntary choice because it affects my work flow considerably even if it may seem like a small detail. I understand the value of saving by default where the Illustrator (.ai) file is located, but I would like to choose the method…4 votes -
Distribute objects doesn't work properly now
Illustrator updated the other day (as did Photoshop and InDesign). When I select a group of objects to distribute evenly it changes the overall area to something much more narrow. I am now having to place each object by hand. Please fix.

Illustrator 24.2 crashes while using gradient tool
Right before I updated to the most recent Illustrator 24.2 I experienced the issue and then it continued after the update. I reset my preferences but it did not resolve the issue.
OS: Catalina 10.15
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

Workspace show problem
Workspace panels & Tool panel continually disappear when I change the workspace from type to another and the only way to show them is to Quit the program this is toooooo Bad

Popup Message: Error loading plugins
There is a bug. Once I launch Illustrator I get the popup message about Error loading plugins. SelectiveUnlock.aip. Otherwise the program functions after I click on OK to close the popup.

"Don't show again" check box
"Don't show again" apparently means show every d*mn time.
Checking the box never works. Why?
And why does the pop-up that wants to give you the Adobe Illustrator tour show up every time I restart the program? I've used this program 20 years. I don't want to take the freakin' tour. Ever.
Fix your sh*tty program and make it as good as it was before CC.

Export resolution
There is an inconsistency between illustrator and the rest of the world (Photoshop / Bridge / Finder) regarding export resolutions.
When one exports a 100px board on Ai set at 300ppi the file info shows 422 x 422 i.e. 100 * 300 / 72 on Ps an export will show as 100 X 100 which makes sense and that’s how other programs view it.4 votes -

Image trace error
Whenever I use Image Trace option. I get the following message - "this operation cannot be complete because of an unknown error" [CANT]. I am using windows 7, Intel i3 processor and AI 32 bit. Can you please help. I went through the File explorer exercise in other comments but nothing is 'denied' in properties.

CC Library Character Styles Set Leading to .01pt
Character Style works fine in Character styles panel, but using Character Styles saved in a CC Library, results in leading being set to .01pt.
This is with a style saved from document to library, or created directly in CC library.

Save for Web locks and unresponsive
I've been encountering this issue for a while now.
Whenever I save for web and need to size up an image or the image is not done loading and I click save but then close the box, everything freezes and there's nothing to do, but to force quit.

Escape Button and Arrow Keys not working with latest Illustrator 2020

Escape and arrow keys randomly stop working. If I close the application and restart it sometimes solves the issue, but I'd really like to not have to close everything down and start it all back up again every time it stops working 5 - 10 min into editing a document. :(

Ofset path bug in 24.1 version - horrible metric precision...
Problem with dimensions after using offset path. Just look - if you have square 100 x 100 mm, and want to make -4 mm offset path - new square is not 92 x 92mm, but... 92.0001 x 92.0001. This is nightmare. See attached. Adobe, I hope this bug will be fixed?

Exporting to PNG with smaller dimensions than artboard creates blurry edges
If you have an artboard, let say sized at 160x160px, and export down to 1/10th the size (e.g., 16x16px) the export will be blurred on both the Y and X-axis in Illustrator version 24.
I have attempted to uninstall Adobe (both with and without my preferences), I have attempted to change the the PPI/DPI settings as well. Nothing seemed to fix this.
The only workaround I can find currently is to reinstall version 23, which will soon be removed from the creative cloud.

Using tool shortcut adds icon to all toolbars
I want to have customized toolbars that only show the tools I've specified. However, when I select a tool via a shortcut, e.g V for Selection Tool, that icon is then added to my custom toolbars. Very frustrating and distracting.

Save As and Save aren’t immediately possible
I open an existing file, make edits and either Save As or Save (ctrl+s). A dialog box says the file couldn't be saved because of various possible reasons which none of are true. I immediately try to Save As or Save (ctrl+s) after closing the dialog and the save is successful. This happens 99% of the time since 24.0.1 (possibly sooner).

Illustrator and InDesign crashing multiple times a day
I have a weird crash — many but not all times I step away from my Mac (2020 MacBook Pro 16" running Catalina; 64GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB; Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB), Illustrator goes down (and often, InDesign as well). I'll come back and wake up the machine and am greeted with system crash messages. The crash message seems to be related to Dispatch queue. Is it possible this is tied to sleep functionality, or perhaps a GPU issue? Would love to resolve this.

Scrolling or zooming causes round Corner Widgets to get deselected
Steps to reproduce:
1. draw a rectangle
2. Use the mouse to select ONE of the corners' radius handle (the bullseye handle inside the corner)
3. Move the mouse wheel to pan (or zoom) a small distance.
4. The bug happens here! The corner radius handle is no longer selected, and dragging the handle now affects all four corners. This is no good if you want to have only one corner radiused. I only noticed this recently so I think it's a newly introduced problem.Panning or zooming should NOT affect the selections that the user has made.
