2. Learn tab prompt covers necessary tabs

   I hate the learn tab with the fire of 1000 suns and I long for the sweet release of death to keep me from seeing this prompt I have no ability to disable.

   Every time I start Illustrator I get this prompt to use the Learn tab. I don't want to use the Learn tab, I have work to do and this prompt covers important parts of the interface that I need to do my job.

   There's no affordance to turn it off, the links just open a tab I do not want. It take 3 click to dismiss it every time I open the app.

   Why do you hate me, Adobe developers?

   This got solved by eliminating the Bulb button altogether. Instead we now have the Discover panel now, which can be called with Help > Illustrator Help / Tutorials / What’s New(they all lead to different sections of the same panel).

3. Illustrator 2021 crashes when trying to import AutoCad DWG

   Every time I try and open an AutoCAD dwgs in illustrator, the options to choose what scale I want comes up and when I click ok, the whole program crashes and the pop up box comes up asking if I want to send a report to illustrator. I cant open any of my dwg drawings at all!

   I've uninstalled and re-installed illustrator many times and updated it to make sure its the latest update and I've turned my computer off and on many times but nothing works. It worked for me before I updated so I think its the latest update that's caused the problem.

4. Replacing image does not match position of original

   When replacing an image, the placement of the new image is in a (seemingly) random position on the canvas rather than in the same position as the original image.

5. Save for Displays: SVG export is extremly slow on Windows

   I do have a file with around 100 artboards with simple icons that need to be exported to SVG.

   This process is extremly slow on Windows on a decent machine. Every SVG takes about 3sec to save. CPU usage shown AI is running only on Core #2. The same file exports in seconds on my 8 years old Mac.

6. Image trace does not allow to use your own colour palette

   Under advanced image trace, now when you use the dropdown palette and select 'Document library' and then select your own limited colour theme in the dropdown below, it makes no difference at all (even though it takes time re-rendering the image).

   This used to work really effectively, but I've had these issues for some time.

   I'm on the latest version of Illustartor 2020 (ver 24.2.3)

   I've attached a screengrab so you can see the colours are not being used!

7. Wacom tablet pen problem

   The buttons on the Wacom tablet pen has been set to scroll up/down, but it doesn't work in illustrator. When pressing the button, a hand sign appears and vanishes instantly. The buttons work fine in other adobe and non-adobe apps. I have tried reinstalling the Wacom drivers and also disabled and enabled the wacom device on preferences but nothing seems to work.

8. Overprint Setting & colour settings

   Issue one
   Overprint can’t be applied to groups. Individual objects within that group remain unset to overprint, even though the tick box claims it’s overprinting — it is not. This is misleading & downright dangerous.

   Furthermore, the color issue shown in the video. Your objects should not do that, it again expands the risk for error. Basically all the print sensitive setting in AI latest version have stopped functioning logically, if you ask me & really up the risk for errors in print. Never mind that going through all objects individually is tedious & unnecessary, it prolongs the process & hampers workflow. It did do this in the previous iteration of AI, please fix this urgently.

9. gpu animated zoom ramdomly disables after 25.0.1 update (25.2.1)

   Last tried with illustrator version 25.2.1

   Using animated zoom – gpu enabled – illustrator randomly switches to cpu while working on illustrator PDFs
   Does not occur while working in a .ai file, only PDF.

   Interim Solution: downgrade to 25.0 – animated zoom works fine using 25.0, but now randomly crashes from time to time …

10. Missing Tools

    I'm missing the pencil tool, Scatter brush and art brush, for Calligraphic Brush 1 I only have Fixed no pressure, tilt, etc all missing, and for my type tool there is no OPEN TYPE??

11. AiRobin hogging huge amounts of RAM (between 12GB and 16 GB) and at times slows the machine down.

    I have turned off "background save / export" which is apparently the purpose of AiRobin. Nonetheless, it has continued to run for the couple of months since I turned those off. Today I had InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator open momentarily; I try to avoid that, but usually it's fine for 5 or 10 minutes. This time it wasn't, and I could literally do nothing (even move the mouse for the most part) for close to 15 minutes. I was finally able to pull up Activity Monitor and I ended the process for AiRobin. Immediately things improved. But sure enough, AiRobin popped back up in Activity Monitor and climbed its way from a few dozen MB to about 6GB in about 3 seconds, slowing everything down as before. I shut off Illustrator before it slowed down all the way, and. Immediately on closing Illustrator everything returned to normal speed (or close to it). It is rare that things get slowed down THIS much, but there is clearly something wrong with AiRobin if it's consistently taking up 12GB to 16GB of RAM, which it is anytime I have Illustrator open. I've just accepted that.

    I'm on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) High Sierra 10.13.6

    Processor: 4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB

    Illustrator: 24.2.3

    Note: even now when Illustrator is just barely initialized, and no documents are open, AiRobin shows it's taking up 15.7 GB of RAM, while Illustrator is taking up 586 MB. On my laptop (MacBook Pro), RAM for Illustrator (no documents open) is 625 MB and for AiRobin it's 119 MB. Never had the problem on that machine. Any help would be appreciated.

12. Illustrator 24.3 Crashing When Selecting Colours with the Layers Palette Open

13. Adobe illustraitor new beta version freezing with M1 chip

    I have recently upgraded to the Macboook pro M1 chip, and my adobe illustraior would not work at all, freezing and needing to force restart everytime I tried to use it. Adobe then released the Beta version, compatible with the Silicon M1 chip and I upgraded, however now it seems llike my Illustraitor has a lag.
    Every 5 seconds or couple of movements, the screen freezes for about 10 seconds and then catches up. I have restarted, reopened and no change. I am unsure of what else to do as work is now impossible, if anyone has experienced anything similar or any answers, they will be greatly appreciated!

14. Export for screens does not remember the last folder in the export path and always defaults back to PNG after quit

    When exporting for screens, I usually want SVG. When I quit and restart Illustrator, the last folder in the export path is forgotten. Additionally, Illustrator wants to export a PNG. I have to set both back to what they were before.

15. Visible brush stroke using touchscreen desktop (MS Surface Studio)

    Whilst drawing directly by hand onto the screen of my Microsoft Surface Studio 2, occasionally Illustrator decides it isn't going to make the path I'm drawing visible. Use the mouse and the brush stroke is visible.

    I'm unsure if this issue is exclusive to this type of desktop (rare, I know), or if tablet / Wacom pad users experience this too? Either way, not knowing where you've drawn doesn't make life easy!

16. PEN TOOL IS BROKEN

    Option/alt+click on anchor doesn't work. It used to make anchor points to curve OR corner. It even says "Pen: Make Corner" at the bottom of the window in the "current tool" field, but actually it just creates NEW PATH.
    And the Anchor point tool icon changes to "Pen tool - start path" icon on hover.

    So you've actually managed to broke the most essential feature of Illustrator - which is to draw and modify vectors. Awesome job!

    It would be actually rather funny if it wasn't COSTING ME MONEY THE WHOLE TIME FOR F*CKS SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FIX IT!

17. System Compatibility error

    Since the recent update to version 25.2, when I launch I get an error message saying "System Compatability Report." I clicked on "fix" and followed the instructions, Intel says my drivers are up to date, yet I keep getting the same error. Files error 3 and 4 shows my operating system details.

18. Illustrator 2020 (24.2.1) crashes when saving eps file

    Illustrator 2020 (24.2.1) crashes with the following steps.

    1. Apply a calligraphic brush to the path
    2. Save the document in [Illustrator CS EPS] or older format and close it
    3. Open the document from step 2 and save it again

    Confirmation environment
    OS: macOS 10.15 (Catalina), macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)
    Illustrator: v24.2.1

    Stock illustration services often require Illustrator 10 EPS, so we expect corrections.

19. Locking everything exept one vector

    Hi, a week ago I updated from Ai 2015 to Ai 2021 and had this issue a couple of times, while isolating a vector I get stuck in it, everything else becomes grayish and I can't get back in to all the layers, I can interact with them however there's gray over all of them, hope the image explains it better. If I save the file and close it and open it, it's still the same problem, i guess its some feature, but i don't know how to deactivate it and haven't found any help online. Thanks!

    Depuis la version 25.1 perte d'une fonctionnalité qui était très pratique : l'arborescence lors de l'import de fichiers DXF.
    Lors de l'import de fichiers DXF à partir d'un logiciel CAD (Solid Edge), chaque pièce de l'assemblage était reconnue par Illustrator (1 pièce = 1 calque).
    Ce n'est plus le cas depuis les dernières mise à jour (dernière mise à jour qui fonctionne : 25.0.1)
