1. Links panel shows wrong colour space

   In a CMYK document the Links panel shows RGB images as CMYK. In the example image a PNG, which can never be CMYK, is incorrectly reported as being CMYK.

   This is in a CMYK Illustrator file. In an RGB file the image is correctly reported as being RGB. Placed CMYK images are correctly reported as CMYK.

2. Shifting decimal

   Not sure really where this lies. And it doesn't seem to have any other affect that I am aware of, but this just started with the latest upgrade - 24.3.

   I typically select an outlined piece of text and copy it then create a new document that is a couple of inched bigger and paste it in. I do this when I am creating production files for large-format kiss cut vinyl production.

   What I have been doing is selecting the text then referring to the dimensions when I create the new file for output. However, today I noticed that when I use the keyboard shortcut "Cmd N" to do so, Illustrator shifts the decimal one place to the left. so, for instance, when the true measurement is 33 x 56 inches, hitting "Cmd N" shifts the described dimensions of the selected object to 3.3 x 5.6 inches.

   It doesn't cause any known issues that I am aware of, other than my initial confusion, but I thought you should know in case it may be linked to something else or inadvertently affect something else.

   Attached is a video demonstrating what I mean.

3. I lost 5 hours worth of my illustrator work

   I was trying to open a file that I used to work on 30 minutes each day until I had some other work and stopped working on Illustrator for a week. After a week when I tried to reopen the file, it shows me this error message (attached an image file) and opens a blank file instead. All my work is lost.

6. Selecting two objects adds millions of points to second path...

   Adobe Illustrator 24.2.1 (and its predecessor) have a horrible feature which I assume is a bug. When selecting two separate paths (or even two separate text objects) using the Selection Tool or Direct Selection Tool, it seemingly adds millions of points to the second path. The points are not really added and don't actually exist, but they LOOK like they do, meaning it adds a thick blue line along it that looks ghastly and is completely off-putting. I can't use those versions at all and have had to stick to 24.1.3 which is the latest version to not do it. I'm running it on a 27-in 2019 iMac with the lastest version of Catalina OS. I have heaps of RAM and oddles of SSD space. As an aside, the text cursor is STILL too thin to see well, despite numerous bug reports and complaints! Baffled as to why you refuse to fix it or even address the complaints in a sensible fashion.

7. Excluding fill and stroke settings when applying a graphic style

   Intention: I want to have a graphic style for applying shadows (using the material UI shadow requirements)

   Because it does not seem to be possible to just copy and paste and existing effect of an element (like a drop shadow on a square element) I am using a workaround.

   I created a graphic style with my desired shadow. I noticed that when applying the graphic style to element, it overwrites its color and stroke values.

   I thought the setting "override character color" would prevent that from happening, but it doesn't. Every time I'm applying a graphic style it replaces the stroke and fill values, which is very annoying, as I want to keep the element's intended fill and stroke color.

   Also, why is it not possible to save effect presets (e.g. for drop shadows?). I mean, it is 2020.. this should be possible without any hassle.

   Intention: I want to have a graphic style for applying shadows (using the material UI shadow requirements)

8. 3D Extrude & Bevel Mapping Symbol

   When I try to map a vector artwork using the 3D Extrude & Bevel Options on the "Map Art" windows shows that the artwork is mapped correctly on the face of shape however the final result stays with the black color of the outline, this does not happen when I do a flat graphic like a JPEG or PNG.

   This issue has been happening with multiple versions of illustrator.

10. Image trace error

    Whenever I use Image Trace option. I get the following message - "this operation cannot be complete because of an unknown error" [CANT]. I am using windows 7, Intel i3 processor and AI 32 bit. Can you please help. I went through the File explorer exercise in other comments but nothing is 'denied' in properties.

11. Shape builder not working consistently for the same shape after being moved

    I have a perfect tangent (generated by code) that will work in the top part of the attached file. The bottom part will not work for the shape builder tool.

    Reflecting the shape or moving it might fix one or both of the bits, and allow them to be "shape built". It might also break the possibility of "shape building".

12. Bug avec Catalina + cintiq 27HD + illustrator

    I've been working for 3 years with Illustrator on a Cintiq 27HD and so far it worked perfectly.
    I changed my old Imac (high Sierra) for a Macbook Pro on Catalina in june, and i work with the last version of Illustrator. I specify that my new Mac is clean and was installed by a professional, and that the MacbookPro is new. So there are no old files that could disturb the system.
    I now encounter a bug on illustrator which is triggered after about fifteen minutes of handling illustrator (I work with the express key commands of the cintiq), the problem is the following : the computer behaves as if the "option" key was continuously pressed. As a consequence the keyboard changes language (cf pj), and the keyboard shortcuts don't respond correctly anymore.
    To solve the problem, when I move an object on illustrator, it is automatically duplicated as many times as I move it.
    I have to restart the cintiq driver, save my document, and after that everything will work again.
    I have to do this operation every 15 minutes and then, i can't work correctly, all my creative process is disturbed.

13. Resizing objects makes them taller instead of equal width and height

    Quick update:

    Adobe's senior support and dev have confirmed the issue does exists in the files we have sent them which uses this particular illustration. They believe this issue is due to the file being created in the older 32 bit version of Illustrator before the transition to the 32 and 64 bit versions of Illustrator and no longer scales properly as today's version is only 64 bit.

    They have logged this as a feature request and but will not be categorized as a bug at this time.

    Since 24.3, resizing certain complex grouped objects while maintaining the ratio using Command + Return with one x or y dimension is not working properly.

    Example:
    1. take an affected complex grouped drawing
    2. enter a different dimension (higher or lower) in the "x" dimension box
    3. press "Command + Enter" to attempt to make the "y" dimension box update with the new dimension with the correct ratio

    Here is an example of an affected vector drawing made with an older version of Illustrator so you can see the issue:

    Result: for objects affected by this issue, it generally makes it taller and does not conform to the usual set ratio.

    This is very hard to replicate as it only affects very specific objects but curious if this is affecting anyone else.

    As you can see in the screenshot, when pressing "Command + Enter" with a 3" width, the height changes to 3.5947" as opposed to maintaining the expected square size.

    We have confimed and replicated this issue with the same AI file on another Mac using version 24.3. Yet, another Mac using 24.23 is not affected by this issue.

    Notes:
    - caps lock is not pressed
    - there are no hidden objects or guides
    - snap to grid or pixel is not active
    - only affects very specific objects created in versions before 24.3

14. Objects don’t align properly to artboards with guides placed on canvas

    While guides have been placed in artboard objects will no longer align to artboard rather they extend far beyond the current artboard.

    At the moment the only solution I've found to work is clearing the guides.

16. Exported AI file showing Improper File Format.

    File with Path Names not importing in any other software and gives error Improper File Format Line Excees 255 Characters.
    I tried this in 2 softwares WASP3D and 3DS Max. in both softwares the file is not importing. I want the file with Path Names.
    It is a world map also attached with this bug.

    When there is typy to a path object, Path —> Simplify —> Convert to Straight Lines or ”Show Original Path” crashes all time when I use that command.

20. Illustrator freezes up every +-20 minutes, unfreezes after alt+tab

    Illustrator (24.2.3 & 24.3, possibly previous versions too), freezes every 20 minutes or so. Sometimes it doesn't happen for an hour, sometimes it happens twice or 3 times in 10 minutes.

    When I say freezing, I mean freezing as if crashing (where the application gets a white-wash and then Windows pops up a message with a crash report message). The only difference is it doesn't give the "application crashed, send/not send" message. It just stays frozen, even when clicking on the application repeatedly (what usually causes the program to freeze etc). When alt-tabbing to another application and back, everything is unfrozen without any issues.

    Running the newest version of Windows. Illustrator would normally be up-to-date too, but I downgraded to 24.2.3 since the problem felt like it was less persistent in this version (could be placebo).

    Not a huuuuge issue, but annoying nonetheless when working with these programs full-time.
