Spinning wheel when switching between documents if something is selected in the document.
I've noticed that if an object is selected in any document then switching to that document will cause the spinning wheel of death for about 5-10 seconds. If nothing is selected then the switch will happen immediately, like it should do.

PDF files made on large artboards get downscaled incorrectly.
When exporting a PDF from a document that's set to "large artboard" the resolution of linked images will get downsampled 10x as much.
In the screenshots I've provided an example of an Illustrator document that's set to large artboard mode. Artboard is an A4 format with an image that's 300 DPI.
I then export the PDF saying it should downsample images to 300 DPI.
Once I open up the PDF in an InDesign document of the same size, you'll see the linked file appears 10x smaller. Not only that, but if you look closely at the image, you'll see that…

Illustrator desktop version 27.8 Error message [UKCO] after update on 8-3-2023
I get the following error message upon starting up Illustrator desktop.
"The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [UKCO]"
The app opens and I can create a new doc but the message keeps popping up.

グラデーションパネルでの操作と同様に「グラデーション」と登録される。実際の結果
ヒストリーパネル上では「取り消し」とし登録されるため、グラデーション処理を行ったものかどうかが判別できない。これもヒストリーパネルが装備された当初からの不具合です。英語版では「undo」と表示されますので全ての言語版において発生している不具合だと考えられます。

Modal is blocking click events
Modals from properties panel is blocking clicking inside Illustrator & won't disappear unless escape / space is pressed (depends on the modal box). Fresh install & restarting Illustrator didn't help.

Incorrect object size when exported to SVG - Illustrator v 28.4.1
The latest Illustrator v28.4.1 generates slightly different SVG code compared to its precursors.
Attached is the code generated by 28.3 and 28.4.1 of the same design.
Then the latest version of the SVG file is loaded to my laser software (Glowforge) the design ends up being much smaller than it is supposed to be, for comparison a 12 cm square will only end up being 9 cm square. The issue disappeared once Illustrator was reversed to version 28.3 and files were re-opened and re-saved.3 votesThe problem seems to be solved with Beta 28.6.

Vertical Scrollbar Malfunction with Tablet
I am on a Windows PC running Windows 10 Pro 22H2. I have been having this issue in Illustrator since version 28. I DID upgrade to version 29.1 and it still persists.
I am using a Huion Kamvas Pro 16 GT with the latest driver (15.7.6).
What is occurring is when I use the drawing tablet stylus to manually scroll the vertical scrollbar by grabbing the cursor with the stylus, Illustrator fails to stop scrolling even when removing the stylus from the cursor. Bug: exporting SVG's via exportFile(fileObjSingle, ExportType.SVG, svgOptions). has completely changed since 28.4
(macOS & Windows, latest versions) Beginning with Illustrator 28.4, SVG files exported via Javascript are in a very different format.
The following examples are exported with:
doc.exportFile(fileObjSingle, ExportType.SVG, svgOptions);
The SVG option for the format of the SVG is STYLEELEMENTS.
See attached captures for the differences.
There are many many changes:
- the style definitions are handled differently
- ID's now strip out characters like / or < instead of replacing them with entities
- the original names are included via data-name tags
- the comment from the 2nd line is now gone
- clipping paths are handled differently

Illustrator ver.26.5〜再現手順
1.環境設定で「リアルタイムの描画と編集」をオンにする。
2.任意のオブジェクトを作成し、「効果→スタイライズ→ぼかし」を適用する。
3.グループ選択ツールで選択しドラッグを開始。ドラッグ中はリアルタイム描画の低解像度表示となる。
4.ドラッグ中にoptionキーをプレス。そのまま任意の位置までいどうする。
5.ドラッグを終了すると当該オブジェクトがコピーされる。通常の移動ではドラッグ終了時に適切な解像度でのレンダリングが行われるが、途中からoptionキーをプレスした場合適切なレンダリング結果とならずリアルタイム描画の状態のままとなる。期待する結果
通常の移動時と同様適切な解像度での結果表示となる。実際の結果
移動中の低解像度の表示のままの結果が得られる。回避方法。
「リアルタイムの描画と編集」を外してリアルタイムの描画をさせないか、ドラッグ開始前にoptionキーを押しておく。この挙動は最終的に行われる実際の解像度でのレンダリングが行われない事による不具合かと考えられます。この影響は
スタイライズに含まれる「ぼかし」「ドロップシャドウ」「光彩」や３Dとマテリアル等のビットマップレンダリングが伴う処理で出ます。今回はoptionショートカット利用のコピーという条件ですが、他にも発生条件が存在するようにも思います。
何にしろ、低品質でデータが保持されると印刷事故に直結します。早急にご対応頂きたいものです。9 votes -

Overprint is activated (but not checked on) when exporting jpegs or png on symbols
In the last two versions of Illustrator (28.4.1) and on, exporting artboards as JPEGS or PNGs does not work properly. Only happens when dynamic symbols are used within the artwork. It looks as if the overprint feature is activated, but those boxed are not checked on any elements of the symbols. This is not an issue on 28.3 version.

Missing diacritical marks in layer names
CONCERNS POLISH SPEAKERS: I have found a bug in the layer panel: when naming layers, some diacritical marks are omitted (the problem does not occur in the layer palette options - there you can name layers using all the necessary diacritical marks).

Unable to export to SVG using 'Export to Screens'
I cannot Export to Screens using SVG - gives an error of 'unable to export following files'. I've tried a simple shape too and that doesn't work! The only way I can do it is to 'save as' SVG and change to SVG 1.0.

PDF vector artwork exported from Fresco to desktop corrupts when opened with Illustrator
I created a vector artwork in Adobe Fresco (app is up to date) on the iPad Pro (OS 17.5.1) then exported it as PDF to my Macbook Pro (Sonoma 14.6.1). The file looks fine until I open it in Illustrator for Desktop (Version 28.6) where one of the vector layers corrupts (best word to describe it) upon opening the PDF in Illustrator.
Troubleshoot attempt 1: I tried exporting and re-exporting and opening and re-opening SO MANY TIMES. The same layer corrupted every time.

1 voteThis is a limitation of Ai. The truncated path has 32000 points exactly, and the missing part of it just being cut open.
Even though a PDF can have more points, Ai won’t be able to read it. This is not a new bug, it’s just this particular path. You can workaround by splitting it into four chunks.
Please also upvote this request to lift the limitation.

Alt-drag from a CC library to an artboard to create a linked object doesn't work reliably
Really there should have been an option to keep the previous behaviour when you changed dragging from a CC library to create a linked rather than embedded object. However in the absence of this the workaround to get embedded objects must be reliable and it's not in Illustrator 28.5 64-bit Windows 11 Pro. This makes using CC libraries to store & share assets virtually unusable in the current versions when your workflows involve a lot of this.

Offer to delete dimensions if related objects are deleted
Dimension in Ai are live and follow the objects they we snapped to (only if NOT get moved on their own or together with the objects, which is stupid and should be fixed: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/47739104)
But another problem is unbound dimensions, that don’t have an anchored parent anymore.
Ai offers nothing if I delete an object that has a dimension attached to it
It won’t offer me restore the link if I paste it back.

White random lines get displayed while working with placed images
Good day. I've stumbled upon a visual bugs in Adobe for quite a time now. I've really thought that the sole reason was my old MacBook and although It got me angry at some point I knew I did not had the best hardware so I was in no situation of asking a bug fix. Now, I'm using the ARM MacBook with M chip, so you can say I'm having somewhat the latest hardware. Still the visual bug appears super often and I'm becoming frustrated about it.
