Minor Bug (Smart Guides on/off)
When opening/creating a new document,
the View > Smart Guides will be checked on. But they are not actually on. You have to turn them on/off a couple times to actually get them working. At first I thought that they were altered or removed from the last update. Fortunately I figured it out!

Libraries panel goes unresponsive or displays oversized icons
Tee rendering of this panel is incorrect, it doesn't let me align it properly with other panels.

Large Amounts of Text overrun text area, disregard justification
I'm using Illustrator CC (2017).
I am creating a 6'x4' poster, where a single text box holds the entire text of the Bible (~730,000 words) as a single string of text (regular spaces between words, but no paragraph returns) in Helvetica Neue Lt Std, 107 Extra Bold Condensed, 3 pt size with 2.7 pt leading, all caps, full justification, default hyphenation. I am using a text wrap around a compound object with a transparent fill to create a negative space in the midst of this text block (in my case, that compound object is text converted to a shape, so…8 votesThanks for reporting this bug Illustrator Team really appreciate this.

Transform tools (Scale, Envelope Distort) apply & perform the last transform when using dialog with no option to undo
Having a persistent problem, only solved by restarting Illustrator once it happens. No ideas on what triggers the problem.
When I open the Scale tool dialog on a selected object, the previous scale values are immediately applied and executed. Canceling the dialog does not undo the transform.
Changing the scale values in the dialog operates on the object, but at the new size.
In other words, opening the Scale dialog immediately scales the object with the last used setting, and then applies the new scale values to the already transformed object.
This has also happened with the Envelope Distort tool.

塗りのみ（線なし）に色を設定した複数のオブジェクトを選択してリピートグリッドを適用すると、最左のオブジェクト以外が透明になり、正常に表示されない。再現手順
1.塗りのみに色を設定したオブジェクトを2つ以上作成する
2.すべてのオブジェクトを選択する
3.リピートグリッドを適用する期待される動作
・すべてのオブジェクトがリピートグリッド内で正しく表示される。実際の動作
・最左のオブジェクトのみ表示され、それ以外のオブジェクトが透明になる。補足情報
オブジェクトは透明に見えるが、実際には存在しており、分割・拡張または書き出しを行うと表示される
塗りと線の両方を設定したオブジェクトが含まれる場合、バグは発生しない以下の操作でバグが回避される：
・環境設定の「GPUパフォーマンス」を無効にする
・「オーバープリントプレビュー」を有効にするWindows版でも報告があります。

Illustrator 30.3 Font Handling Issue
The new 30.3 update for Mac introduced "improved font handling in Illustrator (macOS) for better consistency and reduced reliance on unsupported system resources"
However, this seems to have broken auto font activation with the Typeface font manager.
Is there a way to get this fixed?

7 votesAs reported, the issue has been resolved with the Typeface 4.3.1 update. Hope the Typeface team comments on the nature of changes made.

Files saved are missing images when imported into Photoshop, InDesign, other apps
Lately I am having problems with linked files in Illustrator not showing up when I open the file in Photoshop for instance, even though everything looks fine in Illustrator in the original file. I have to go into the Links menu and relink everything one at a time and resave to make it work. I also notice that the file size is smaller when the linked files don't work.
I tend to use linked files a lot and have for years so this isn't a case of unfamiliarity with the tool.
Any suggestions are welcome.

This fix would not correct the existing damaged files but should not happen on new files saved from newest version. Existing files can be corrected by resaving them in latest version.

Eyedropper + Shift changes text and adds stroke when applied
When picking up a color from text with the Eyedropper while holding down the Shift key the Eyedropper will change the size, the fill and add a stroke when applied to text. When applied to an object, it will add a black stroke to the object.
This does not happen when the Shift key is not used during sampling.7 votes -
Picking Eyedropper temporarily disables Smart Guides

In previous versions (can’t say for sure now when it stopped) we were able to aim with the Eyedropper better, when Smart Guides were enabled. In CC 2017 it works. Was quite helpful to pick color from a stroke, highlighting the object that is going to be sampled. Cool, right?
But now, I suppose with the Photoshop-style sampling rings glued on, Illustrator forgot it’s a vector program. The sampling ring should not disable Smart guides!
I somewhat get why pressing Shift might disable it, because Shift enables the 'sample by pixel' mode, and picking a color…

Font drop down list won't allow font selection.

Adobe Illustrator 2026 version 30My font drop-down list allows me to preview fonts, but not select them. If I preview and click a new font to select it, the type window closes and my select text reverts to the original font. I've tried using the text tool and the selection tool - same problem. To change a font, I must type the ENTIRE NAME in the font window and hit return. Very time consuming. :(

7 votesThis problem is reportedly fixed in the latest Beta Build 30.5.0.18. You can update and test if it’s truly gone.
However, please not there are some known issues with this particular build:
- Opening recent files from Home Screen Recent section is not working (opening recent files from File > Open Recent Files works fine).
- Generative Expand does not open its own HUD when used after Generate Vector, Generative Shape Fill, or Sketch to Vector. Instead, the previous tool's HUD is displayed and Generative Expand remains inaccessible. Workaround: Ungroup the generative content first, then apply Generative Expand.
- Half of Astute Graphics plugins can’t get loaded. Both teams are now aware of the problem.

High GPU load on macOS 26 Tahoe

3. 左右のブラケットを楕円の左右のアンカーポイントに合わせる。
4. 中央のブラケットを操作するとブラケットが反対側に飛んだり戻ったりする。
5. 4の挙動の後にクラッシュする。期待する結果
ブラケット操作時に安定して操作できる。実際の結果
ブラケットの操作が不安定で、高確率で最悪クラッシュする。回避方法
楕円の一部をはさみツールで切断しておくことで不安定な動作を回避可能。EN

1. Open a new document and draw an ellipse on the artboard.
2. Click on the ellipse with the Type on Path tool to create a Type on Path for the ellipse.
3. Align the left and right brackets with the left and right anchor points of the ellipse.
4. manipulating the center bracket causes the bracket to jump to the opposite side or back.

Keyboard shortcuts for text formatting (kerning, tracking, leading, font size) no longer work in Illustrator 29.7.1
This feature just stopped working. Please fix.
These also don't work:
Increase or decrease leading: Option + Up or Down Arrow (horizontal text) or Right or Left Arrow (vertical text)
Increase or decrease kerning and tracking: Option + Right or Left Arrow (horizontal text) or Up or Down Arrow (vertical text)
7 votesAs noted in the core report, the fix available in Prerelease build now, starting with 29.8. Preferences should no longer change some specific values when the Search field has anything in it. The next general build should have this fix included.

Duplicate Artboards will always fail if even one artboard exists near the right edge of the canvas

Duplicating an artboard using the Duplicate Artboards command in the Artboards panel will fail if one of the artboards in the document is near the right edge of the canvas and the new artboard is at coordinates that extend beyond the canvas.
It is not possible to duplicate the artboard by wrapping it in the Y direction. Therefore, when such artboards are in the document, it will never succeed.
The expected behavior is that Duplicate Artboards will also do so, since you can copy and paste artboards and New Artboard will generate them with a wrap around.

Scaling down a placed image makes it unmovable
After placing a PNG and scaling it down to fit my artwork, I was no longer able to move the PNG into place. I could only select it in the Layers panel or by clicking and dragging over it. There does seem to be a threshold before this happens — if I only scale it down a small amount, it seems to behave as normal, but if I go beyond 50%, it becomes unstable. Of course, the workaround is to scale the PNG closer to the size needed, but this behavior seems to be new. I am pretty sure I…

Radial gradient gets changed when a shape is resized
When I resize an object with a particular gradient, it gets adjusted on its own, which I didn't face before the update. Please fix the issue ASAP

Suffix still gets added when an image is exported even though the option to add it is disabled
While exporting a AI file to, for example JPG, the checkbox for automatic file extension (suffix) is unchecked. When I export it, the filename gets a extension (suffix) '-01' behind it. When I export, check the box, and uncheck it, the file saves without the extension (suffix), like it should. So every time I have to check and uncheck the option before exporting. Very annoying. Never had this issue before.
Newest updated installed 29.6.1 on Windows 10 Pro.
Anyone else has the same issue?

Swatch Info renders a saved tint as yet another copy of the main global color
The feature doesn't work correctly with tints for global colors.
When a new tint of a global color is saved into Swatches, it gets displayed as an un-tinted one by Swatch Info, as the image shows.7 votes
