Column can't be resized in the variable panel
If you have a lot of variables with a larger name the column can't be resized in the variable panel so you can see everything.
Normal table columns can be resized; dunno why this one isn't.2 votes -

Zig Zag applied to an art brush is glitchy.
A simple art brush made of several parallel rectangles has unexpected results when the Zig Zag effect is applied with smooth curves instead of sharp angles. Changing the number of stripes and/or the number of zigs alters the errors. Some of them are kind of pretty but I think I'd rather just see this working as expected.
I reproduced this on an M2 Mac running Illustrator 27.8.1, in both CPU and GPU rendering modes. I'm not sure what the person who originally observed this and got me investigating was using.

Shift + Reflect (O) tool is too jittery to be usable
The Shift + Reflect (O) command does a very poor job of constraining a reflection. The reflection jitters regularly – sometimes it takes several tries to complete a simple 90 degree reflection. Can the tolerances please be loosened off a bit so that constraining with shift is more useful. I have noticed this behaviour over several versions of illustrator.

Coordinates for Symbols within Symbols
When placing a symbol within another symbol, the coordinates listed in the properties panel no longer work.
I create a symbol of a page labelling it "Page Right" and setting the registration point for the upper left. If I open the symbol and select the artwork it will register at 0,0 as expected.
Back in the main canvas, I drag a copy of the symbol to the left, transform it by reflecting vertical and save it as a symbol labelled Page Left with registration point in the upper left again.
Now I select the two symbols, align vertically by center…

.svg QR code generated with Adobe Express does not open properly
When I generate .svg QR codes in Adobe Express, I cannot open them properly in Illustrator. An error message appears. There is a way to manually correct it, but well, it would be useful to save this hassle.

Illustrator Freezes when Saving
I am running Illustrator v28.1 on Windows 11 Home - version 22H2 on my Asus Zenbook 15 (2019). I generally use a dock to connect to a single monitor.
Recently when I try to save, the program freezes and I cannot select anything within the program. When I click anywhere in Illustrator, I hear a chime like the program is expecting me to respond to a dialog box, but I cannot find the save window anywhere. It does not appear in windows tile view or when hovering over the illustrator icon in the task bar. I can 'save a copy'…1 vote -
Keybord shortcut doesn't work for Object > Expand
I added a custom keyboard shortcut for
Object > Expand (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+L)
It has no conflict with any other shortcutFor example, while I have a rectangle selected and it has a stroke applied, if I select the expand command from the menu, it works flawless.
But if I hit the "Alt+Shift+Ctrl+L" keys, the shortcut won't work until I expanded first from the menu commandOnly after I clicked on the menu command, the keyboard shortcut starts working again

rulers display bug
I can't exactly say, which update introduced that bug, but Illustrator 2022 did not have it: sometimes (often when multiple documents are opened) the rulers go wild. When scrolling through the document, multiple copies of the rulers cover the whole screen and hide the artwork. We have this issue on both of our machines (iMac an Mac mini running on Ventura)

Cannot paste the artboards because of insufficient space on the canvas
I get this error so often, and I'm not sure how to fix it. I belive it has something to do with guides, but guides are infinite, so they should always (and never) go off the canvas.

スクリプトでアクションを実行するとフリーズする
Illustratorのアクションに「⌘+A」といういわゆる「すべて選択」アクションを作成し、「Select All」という名前を付けます。
Apple Script で「do script "Select All" from "testAction"」を実行すると、Illustrator がフリーズします。
この現象はver.25.2頃のバージョンでは発生していませんが、それ以降のバージョンでは発生します。
改善されることを願っています。
Create a so-called "Select All" action called "⌘+A" in Illustrator's actions and name it "Select All".
Illustrator freezes when you run "do script "Select All" from "testAction"" in Apple Script.
This phenomenon does not occur in versions around ver.25.2, but it does occur in later versions.
I hope it improves.

レイヤーのロックをはずしても、外れてない時がある。ロックを外した後、オブジェクトを触ろうとすると触れなくて、レイヤーをチェックすると、ぱっとロックマークが復活するエラーがある

Linked ai file being cut off
a Flattened tiff is opened and then saved in illustrator with a mask as ai. It is placed in another ai. file and when that happens part of the image is cut off, and its not part of the mask. I tried making sure there was only one layer in photoshop and in illustrator, resaved it different ways and still comes out the same. seems to follow a few particular files and sometimes appears all black or part of it black or just cut off. the files are no different than the ones that do work.

Transparency grid turns off when panning or zooming
Transparency grid is not active when panning or zooming in a document creating constant flickering when moving around in a document.

Annoying popup windows in toolbar
I just got a new computer and had to go to Illustrator 28 (Mac OS 12.7.1). Now nearly every time I want to draw an object or move something around, I get an annoying box full of options. It would be fine if the boxes came up on a right click, but I don't need to see them every darn time. I looked in Preferences but none of the obvious choices made them go away. After many years of Illustrator I know what the options are... I could also do without the automatic "Lorem ipsum" text, but that's relatively minor.…

Illustrator 2024 resets most Preferences on restart
The issue with Preferences not saving is back. I have this problem with the 20243 version. How hard is it to fix this? It's SUPER annoying to have to change all of my preferences on a program I use daily.
EVERY time I restart illustrator, I loose all preferences except hot keys (thank god). I lose unchecking the real time drawing (because that's annoying), I lose units, I lose like most of what I set up. It's awful.

Fix rich tooltips causing screen flickeringin still in 28.1 64 bit win 11
Please fix rich tooltips. they still keep flickering the screen completely when the pop up. User fix is to turn rich tooltips off in prefernces.
