2. All options within Window > Type are greyed out when 'Enable Wacom' option is enabled

   Running Illustrator 2026 (version 30.0) on a M4 Pro Mac Mini. Access to all Type options are greyed out (accessed via Window > Type). I noticed that, in the preferences, under Devices, there was an 'Enable Wacom' option, which was checked. (I don't have a Wacom tablet, though I do have an XP-Pen drawing display, though it was not plugged in, and all drivers and extensions were disabled, and I've only used it with Illustrator 2025.) However, I unchecked the option, restarted Illustrator, and all text options were available again.

3. Cannot Resize Anything, version 30.0, went back a few updates hoping it was a bug of the new version but it's still the same.

   It happens when one accidentally disables Bounding Box with Cmd+Shift+B hotkey. You can try to toggle it back with the same shortcut or via View > Show Bounding Box.

4. The Default File Location option (local or cloud) is missing in Preferences > File Handling

   Whenever we install Illustrator anew and try to save a document for the first time, we are given a choice — to save into Cloud or save locally. The default choices is Cloud and 'Don’t show again is checked) — Adobe actively wants users to use their system, I get it. However, if one makes a mistake and wants to alter this choice later — they can’t do it anymore.

   At some point we had this option exposed in Preferences > File Handling, but later it started to randomly disappear for users, with the same build used. The support can offer nothing but to reset Preferences, but it never helps to make it appear back. The blank spot is there, but the option is gone.

   We, however, can toggle it with a script, with a single line:
   app.preferences.setBooleanPreference ("AdobeSaveAsCloudDocumentPreference",false);

   or go to the 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file and set this key to zero:
   /AdobeSaveAsCloudDocumentPreference 0

   So the option exists, it just doesn’t get exposed.
   I personally think it’s a trap. I think Adobe lures users to use the Cloud. I think this perfectly fits the 'Adobe uses shady practices' and whatever the team can say in response (except for 'It is now fixed' with the users proving it is) I will treat as fueling these practices.

5. Spell check error - changes language to Bulgarian

   Spell Check starts in English for the first few then always changes to Bulgarian! This renders spell check absolutely useless, unless I happen to type in Bulgarian... which I haven't had the need to so far.

6. Delete Artboard should not spam in History when only one artboard remains

   While deleting artboards rapidly works now s it should, I can’t but notice that even when the only artboard is left, the Delete Artboard command and step still fires up and pollutes the History panel. With the only artboard left the command should just do nothing (until Ai team decided to invent the artboardless canvas and break all the things).

9. Deleting colors from Swatches panel crashes Illustrator

   In Illustrator 2026, 30.0, on a Mac running 15.6.1, any time I go to delete a swatch, any swatch, any number of swatches, it immediately crashes the program. I reset preferences and nothing changed...still crashes. Started a new file in case there was something going on with the old one, still crashes.

10. Variable Google Fonts reset to minimum weight on file open in Illustrator

    Issue Description:

    When opening files in Adobe Illustrator, the program incorrectly handles Google Fonts variable families that use floating weight values (variable wght axis). All text elements that were assigned specific weight values (e.g., 400, 500, 600) are automatically reset to the minimum weight value after reopening the file. As a result, all text switches to the thinnest available style in the variable font.

    Expected Behavior:

    Illustrator should correctly save and restore the numeric values of variable font axes (in this case, the wght axis) and display text exactly with the weight settings assigned before saving.

    Actual Behavior:

    After reopening the document, all text objects using Google variable fonts lose their assigned weight values and revert to the lowest/minimal value of the wght axis. Visually this appears as if all text changes to the “thin” style of the family.
    This breaks the typographic hierarchy and causes layout shifts, making the file unusable without manual correction.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    • Latest Illustrator release (Windows).
    • Use any Google Fonts variable family (e.g., with a wght axis).
    • Assign different weight values within the same variable family to text objects.
    • Save the file, close it, then reopen it.
    • All weights revert to the minimum value.

    Impact:

    The design opens with damaged typography. All weight settings must be restored manually, which is time-consuming and may cause inconsistencies or visual artifacts.

11. Live Shape center in the bounding box prevents Snap to Point from working

    As reported here — https://www.reddit.com/r/AdobeIllustrator/comments/1p6pyau/what_do_i_not_understand_about_snap_to_point/ — modern Illustrator is having problems when dragging live shapes by the center, expecting this center to snap as a point to another points.

    Live shapes like start, ellipses, rectangles, now have the additional widget controls displayed over the bounding box — to alter the shape on canvas. Well, this fat dot in the middle seems to obstruct the REAL center point shapes get when created.

    That’s why disabling the bounding box helps — the fat dot vanishes with it, exposing the real center point (Attributes panel control it being on or off).
    That’s why using the Direct Selection tool helps — the bounding box appears only when a shape tool or Selection tool are used.
    That’s why expanding the shape helps (either with Object > Shape > Expand Shape, or something like Pathfinder > Add — but it’d require for center to be reenabled) — the live shape widget shows up only for live shapes.

    This widget wasn’t a thing in older versions, and there was a time it worked fine after live shapes were introduced, until the fat dot happened. Please make it work. Today, even with enabled Smart Guides Ai might (within a tolerance) display the 'center' when you hover over the fat dot obstructing the center, but would not register it as one when you start dragging. Shame!

12. I can't save anything in Illustrator in SVG format

    I tested save any object in Illustrator in format SVG, but after many minutes Illustrator shows a window saying it can't save because of the mistake problem. I tested in the last version and the previous version, I cant save in SVG, I need this...

13. Recent colors become None when Global or Spot Colors are used

    Some Recent Colors are displayed as the None Swatch when Spot or Global colors have been added to the Recent Colors.
    Turn on in the Edit > Color Settings all checkboxes for warnings about Mismatches or Missing profiles.
    The default is unchecked. When they are unchecked, you will get no warning when opening a file with Global (or Spot) Colors in the Recent Colors and the file just opens without showing the problem.
    When you have turned the warning checkboxes On in the Color Settings and have Quit Illustrator after adding the Global or Spot Colors in the Recent Colors, you get a warning about a Missing Profile (which is not true) when you create or open a file while the Global (or Spot) Colors are still in the Recent Colors (they are available across documents). If you click OK the file opens, just as it would with the warnings off. The warning will not show again during the current session. But if you click Cancel (as many times as the number of Global/Spot Colors that you have in your Recent Colors). The file will open with the recent Global/Spot Colors converted to None.

14. CMYK colors get recalculated in a document with color mode changed from RGB to CMYK, using Color Picker

    According to the user, they often receive files created in RGB mode, and they have to convert them to CMYK, using File > Document Color Mode, make specific changes and push documents further. And while the document becomes CMYK, Ai keeps recalculating supplied values, as if these get double-converted via RGB space.

    There are easy steps to reproduce this problem from scratch.
    1. Create a new RGB document, using Web Document Profile
    2. Go File > Document Color Mode > CMYK
    3. Create a rectangle
    4. Open Color and enter a CMYK color, like 15-30-45-15, tabbing through values. Press Enter while being in the last K field.
    5. Open Color Picker again and check the values.

    Expected — CMYK 15-30-45-15.
    The one I get, using my Color Settings, is 21,15-32,8-47,81-7,71

    If I enter these same values in Color panel — they get accepted fine.
    Sometimes the Color Picker becomes sane and stops converting, but I haven’t figured out actions needed... perhaps something with the order of focusing fields?

    My guess is that somehow Ai treats the HEX field as the last selected one (even though it’s not), adn uses the value in it as the final choice...
    Please fix.

15. Crash on new artboard

    Every time I click on the "+" under my artboards window, it crashes. I have 24 artboards already, and if I duplicate one using Option click drag, it seems ok. But New Artboard crashes again and again.

16. Toggle Visibility Not Working in Layers Panel

    Windows 11 desktop, 12 GB graphics card, 32 GB RAM, Intel processor with 3.60 GHz, 64 Bit x64-based processor

    I am creating a design and trying to toggle the background layers to compare. When I click on the eye icon in the Layers panel, the layers sometimes go on/off and most often do not. Essentially, toggling visibility does nothing.

    I have checked that my layers are visible in the hamburger menu. I have restarted Ai and restarted my computer.

    My document is saved to the cloud - I did get an autosave is temporarily disabled warning and I get a plugin conflict message when I open AI - I have no plugins active in Ai that I can find in the Preferences settings. The plugin warning is for LogiOptionAi2020.aip

    The screenshots show that the background doesn't change even when I toggle the layers on or off. This problem only happens with the one layer- the top ones I have toggled off and when I toggle them back on they show up.

19. Updating the Share for Review link uses the previously saved version

    When attempting to update the Share for Review link of a file, Illustrator updates the review link with a previously saved file instead of the most recent version of the current file being worked on.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Open File A in Adobe Illustrator.
    2. Save File A and create a Share for Review link.
    3. Open File B (or another Illustrator file).
    4. Make changes to File B and save it.
    5. Click Share for Review and choose Update Link.

    Expected Result:
    The Share for Review link should update the review link for File B.

    Actual Result:
    The Share for Review link updates the review link of last file that was previously saved and shared for review (e.g., File A), instead of the current file (File B).

20. UI freezes when clicking Save file with multiple artworks, no recovery files, version 30.0 on Tahoe 26.1

    This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!
    As soon as you click save, the UI freezes, and doesn't allow you to save.
    After clicking the task manager in order to restart the app, the file doesn't show up in the recovered files. NOTHING!
    It is the worse version of Illustrator EVER. I was contemplating going back to the LTS version, but we have already done too much work in this newer version, and are certain that when we open those files, in the OLDER (But better) version, there will be issues, we saw it already in a few files, where the file is flat and not editable.. What can we do?

    This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!
    As soon as you click save, the UI freezes, and doesn't allow you to save.

    It is the worse version of Illustrator EVER. I was contemplating going back to the LTS version, but we have already done too much work in this newer version, and are certain that when we open those files, in the OLDER (But better) version, there will be issues, we saw it already… more
