  1. Properties panel doesn’t detect the actual font and shows Myriad Pro by default

    When I select a word, the Properties panel doesn’t detect the actual font and shows Myriad Pro by default. None of the text settings respond or update. The program doesn’t freeze, but the panel acts as if no text is selected. The same thing happens in the Control panel

  2. While the file is still running in the software, it has vanished from the folder.

    Regretfully, my file is no longer in the area where I saved it, but it is still open in the software, and I am unable to save it to any folder or Adobe Cloud. I don't know why this is occurring.

  3. Can't print gradients!

    Running Illustrator 29.4 on a brand new Mac Studio Ms Ultra. I can no longer print ANY gradients (past or newly created) that I make in Illustrator and save as a pdf. I can view them on the screen, but they disappear when printed—the whole shape/object/type is just missing. Never had this issue in the decades that I have been using Illustrator. Printing to a Canon inkjet with most current driver installed. HELP ME, PLEASE.

  4. Artboard size units not right

    Ai 29.4 / Sequoia 15.4

    Create an artboard of 59,4 x 60 cm, add some graphics. Save as .pdf.
    Place in InDesign, and see how it is actually 5,94 x 6 cm.
    I think Illustrator messes with mm and cm.

  5. Bottom margins for labels are too small for Swatch Info objects in the column view (with no card backgrounds)

    If I choose to display Swatch Info card in a column, and choose to omit background cards, the result would have text lines too close to the chips below, like the attached image shows. It makes it feel like the text is not related to chips above, and forces us to use cards still to control 'space after' at least somehow, even when cards are not necessary.

    While the team hardcoded the 'space before' as a strict gap (again, hardly OK), they seem to forget to do the same for the bottom line.

  7. Eyedropper picks the color of the antialiased edge of a stroke blended with the background instead of the actual stroke color

    Eyedropper requires a ton of precision when picking a color of s stroke.

    Here I have violet and green lines, drawn above a raster image.

    I’ve mistaken and used green color instead of violet, and now I want to pick it from the existing line.

    I click, precise enough (I hope), but the color picked — the almost correct violet (C74,95 M74,61 — instead of the global 75-75) — is not in the background at all. It’s a BLENDED color of the RENDERED anti-aliased EDGE of the stroke! So Ai secretly rasterizes what it sees and then…

  8. Illustrator 29.1 Can't Import AI Files From Other Apps

    I posted something about this in the Illustrator user forums earlier today. I've been dealing with a bug present in the Illustrator 29.1 update that was pushed to users this morning. This new version cannot open AI files exported by rival graphics applications if the AI file contains any live text objects. If the artwork is all raw vectors, even with complex fills, it opens fine. Any live text makes it a no-go.

    When attempting to open the AI file containing text objects this message is displayed:
    "Illustrator could partially read this file. We recovered as much of the file…

  9. Transform inputs in Properties panel won't let me change/add values

    This is insane. The Transform inputs of the Properties Panel won't let me enter values for the X and Y coordinates OR the H and W. I am using Mac Sequoia. Is there some secret setting that I need to change to make these values accessible? I changed from Windows to Mac because (allegedly), Mac would be able to handle Adobe much better. So far, not at all true.

  10. Illustrator 2025 forgetting dialog box preferences and reverting to default settings, especially after closing or crashing.

    New update to Illustrator 2025 seems to have issues with reverting back to interface defaults as if the app was never opened.

    Example panels reverting back to default: missing fonts or font activation panel, pantone blue reminder alert strip, save dialog asking to save locally or via cloud — pretty much anything with a "don't show this again" box, Illustrator seems to forget at least a few times per week.

    It also seems to be reverting keyboard shortcut commands back to default presets, though retains custom presets — you just have to go back into the keyboard shortcuts panel and change to…

  11. Cursed Path includes non deletable artifacts — part of shape when outlined.

    I have drawn custom shapes using the pen tool. Visible artifacts are growing out of anchors. When I switch to outline mode, these artifacts are not visible, yet when I expand the strokes, the artifacts become part of the resulting shape. I cannot resolve this by deleting the anchors that cause the issue, if I do that and then reconnect the remaining points, the artifact simply reappears. I'm attaching an Illustrator file with the cursed paths so that others can see if they experience the same issue or if they can resolve it.

  12. Launching Ai without the application frame places the document window behind the tool panel

    When I startup Illustrator without the application frame it often misplaces my document so it's tucked behind the tools panel — sometime it is where it is supposed to be.

  14. Properties panel doesn't show any settings

    Using Illustrator 29.4 with macOS 15.3, the Properties panel doesn't show anything anymore but the "Quick selections" text (might not be the right term as my software is in French)

  15. TIF files from Adobe Libraries are not supported

    TIF files from Adobe Libraries are not supported in Illustrator. This has been a problem for at least a year now that needs to be fixed. Unfortunately, we have had to create jpeg files and relink the graphics for all of our clients. I am unsure why that file type would not be supported.

  16. Selection tool works like the Direct Selection Tool

    I cannot use the Selection Tool because it works like the Direct Selection Tool, therefor I cannot scale or move any objects on my artboards.

    I have tried the workaround to change settings in preferences, but the problem still persists.

    I have a Windows Desktop:
    AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor
    32GB DDR4 RAM
    Radeon RX550/550 Series
    1TB SSD

  17. Preview in PNG export options panel doesn't work

    There is a bug in options panel for PNG files, the preview window only show white or transparent regarding the option selected.

  18. Right-click menu appears in wrong location

    Right-click menu appears far below the cursor. If clicked low enough on my secondary monitor, the menu appears on my MacBook Pro's internal monitor (arranged below my external display). Photos showing this behavior attached. Has been happening for quite a while now and driving me crazy, figured it would've been been fixed by now.

    Since MacOs Sequoia upgrade, Illustrator randomly recording / monitoring screen despite disabled in Privacy settings. Sequoia bug, AI bug, or Sequoia revealing this was happening all along. Could just be the color picker, could not. Doesnt happen reliably with color picker use. Only happens in Illustrator and only since the Sequoia upgrade. Something isnt working right between the OS and app.
    If screen monitoring is turned off, Illustrator should not be able to monitor.

    Illustrator uses Apple screenshot API to pick colors outside the Illustrator window with Eyedropper tool. Apple has enhanced security in the recent OS updates to let user know which applications are recording the screen, whether you pick a color value of single pixel or recording the entire screen.

    Illustrator is not recording users's screen, it is required for Eyedropper tool to pick color from single pixel.

  20. Flatten Transparency color change

    Illustrator 2024 29.4 (64-bit) Windows 11 Pro, Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 165H 3.80 GHz, 32 GB Ram

    When using the "flatten transparency" or "rasterize" options, there is a single line of text that keeps changing color. See screen shots attached. This happens regardless of what settings I select. I need the color of the text to be maintained through the operation.
