  1. Expanding an Inside / Outside stroke creates barely open paths

    1. Create a rectangle
    2. Apply a thick stroke to it and change its alignment to Inside or Outside
    3. Expand Appearance for the shape
    4. Deselect the shape
    5. Grab Direct selection and carefully move the corner points at the top right, for both paths

    It turns out Illustrator doesn’t keep these tidy! One is cut open, another has a doubled point! It leads to a problems later, when we try, e.g. to make corners rounded, or apply effects.

    A current workaround is to apply Add (as Pathfinder operation or an effect) to the stroke, separately form the fill... and it’s taxing for memory,…

  2. Issue while saving a file in Adobe Illustrator 2025

    I’m facing an issue while trying to save my Adobe Illustrator design file on my Mac. I can work normally, but when I try to save the file, I’m unable to rename it. The save screen freezes, and the “Save” button becomes unresponsive. The only button I can click is “Cancel.”

  3. Installed Fonts Do Not Appear After Update to v28.6

    Running Windows 11 and Illustrator v 28.6. After updating Illustrator to v28.6 - when opening files created on this same PC, certain fonts do not appear in the Type menu, and a warning will be issued saying there are missing fonts (Helvetica Bold, in this particular case). Tried installing fonts in Adobe Fonts folder in Program Files, as suggested elsewhere, with no luck. The file in the attached image was created using this very system just a couple of weeks ago, now unable to edit.

  4. SVG Export

    In der Version 28.4.1 entstehen beim "Speichern unter.." als SVG Datei zerstörte Vektoren. In der Version 27.9.3 ist das nicht der Fall. Habe die SVG Datei als AI abgespeichert, weil SVG als Dateiendung nicht unterstützt wird.

  5. PDF files made on large artboards get downscaled incorrectly.

    When exporting a PDF from a document that's set to "large artboard" the resolution of linked images will get downsampled 10x as much.

    In the screenshots I've provided an example of an Illustrator document that's set to large artboard mode. Artboard is an A4 format with an image that's 300 DPI.

    I then export the PDF saying it should downsample images to 300 DPI.

    Once I open up the PDF in an InDesign document of the same size, you'll see the linked file appears 10x smaller. Not only that, but if you look closely at the image, you'll see that…

  7. Not Responding Issues

    What is wrong with Illustrator today? As I am working on an infographic, every time I do something the program with stop responding/"not responding" for 3-10 seconds. It is extremely difficult to work like this.

    I am in Fresco, click "Publish & Export" and "Open a Copy" in Desktop Illustrator. 9 out of 10 times nothing happens.

  9. AI HAVE THE WORST DIMENSION TOOL OF THE WORLD

    You have to follow Rhino quote tool. There's a lot of mistakes in AI quote tool.
    - I don't want to see "mm" after my quote.
    I MUST have a snap on every elements of my drawing for quote my dimensions
    I MUST have the possibility to snap different quotes to a single point
    I MUST have the possibility to have orthogonal quote from oblique points
    PLESE DO IT QUICKLY!!!! WITH THE LATEST VERSION OF AI CAD TOOLS NO LONGER WORK...I LOST 1500 EUROS OF SOFTWARE BECAUSE OF THIS CHANGE

  10. Global Edit not working correctly

    I use Global Edit to count objects. It often says "Global Edit is currently not supported for more than 1000 highlighted objects." I know that there are a lot less than 1000 objects that I am trying to highlight.

  11. ADOBE: FOR GOD'S SAKE WILL YOU TRANSFER CUSTOM SETTINGS AFTER AN UPDATE ALREADY

    ADOBE IT IS 2024.

    FOR GOD'S SAKE -- AND THIS IS ALL CAPS BECAUSE I'M YELLING -- ADD THE FOLLOWING CODE TO ALL ILLUSTRATOR UPDATES:

    Copy <Old Custom Workspace AND Keyboard Settings> to <New Version>

    Okay? It can't be that friggin' complicated. I'm trying to write a PowerShell VBA to do it, and I'm not a coder.

    I AM SICK AND TIRED OF HAVING TO MANUALLY GO IN AND TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHERE ALL MY CUSTOM SETTINGS ARE LOCATED AND THEN MANUALLY COPYING THEM TO THE UPDATED FOLDER.

  12. Pressing Tab to Show All Palettes focuses a random third-party extension’s input on Windows

    Reported by Enisio:

    I use the Tab key a lot to hide/show panels, to instantly clear the panel clutter on the screen.
    Pressing Tab activates RANDOM extension.

    This is bad, because I work with shortcut keys: T is for writingS for Scale, R for rotation, etc.
    When an extension gets focused, I can’t call the tool I need and type something in the extension panel instead.

    Same thing with all the extensions below. I think all extensions behave this way. Has anyone ever paid attention?

  13. Flickering Pasteboard with GPU Preview

    This is an ongoing, intermittent issue with Illustrator on Mac. It predates the M-series chips in my memory. The issue is that when the GPU preview is on the pasteboard starts to flicker (see attached). This is not tied to a specific action or effect in my experience, but happens randomly. Suggestions are to turn off GPU preview (not terribly helpful) or turn it off/on which sometimes works, or restart which sometimes works. Can you PLEASE figure out why this happens (has been happening for years!) and fix it.

  14. データのクラッシュ

    作業をしていると突然ソフトが落ちます。ほぼ毎日クラッシュが発生している状況で、こまめに保存して対応しております。
    復元を行なってもほとんど復元されないため全く作業が進みません。macのデータ容量に関しても全く問題はなく、イラストレーターで開いているファイルが１つの時でもクラッシュが発生します。作業中において特定のアクションでクラッシュするわけではなく様々な場面で急に落ちます。
    原因がわからないため非常に困っています。

  15. Error al exportar - guardar para web.

    No permite exportar ninguna mesa de trabajo, mediante la herramienta de (Exportar Como) y (Guardar para web), existe un error: "No se puedo escribir en el archivo debido a un error".

  16. Blob brush not reverting from Brush using keyboard shortcut

    When switching between custom keyboard shortcuts from the Brush to the Blob Brush, the shape stays the same and doesn't respond to tablet pen pressure sensitivity.

  18. Illustrator window moves behind all other windows when you reposition the frame

    When selecting a window in Illustrator it immediately falls to the background as I move it around. VERY obnoxious.. this is also happening in Photoshop.

    Mac Studio, 64gb, Ventura 13.2.1, latest version of AI and PSD.

    調べてみると、レイヤーの下側に表示されるとのことですが見当たりません。他の場所に表示されるのであればその場所を知りたいです。尚、現在Windowsを使用しており【パネルオプション】の”レイヤーのみを表示”のチェックは外れています。

  20. Flickering colors and images when moving mouse while in GPU mode

    The screen flickers when you move the cursor (it sucks!).

    When you switch to CPU it stops, but you lose the animated zoom which is a nice feature.
