1. Eyedropper random wrong results

   OSX 13.0.1
   Illustrator 27.1.1

   Attempting to pick up paragraph and character values of text with eyedropper. Test is built in a new document from a blank template, components pasted from a working file.
   Expected result: that selected text will end up with same values (font, color, size, lead, letterspacing) as sample
   Actual result: as far as I can see, completely random results. Sometimes the letterspacing is changed to a value neither the source nor the destination is set to. Sometimes nothing happens. In this video, the font color changes to a color that is not used in the document.

   I have had issues like this with Illustrator for years, but in recent updates this behavior had disappeared, and I had hoped the bugs had been fixed. Alas

2. Persistent Save to cloud dialogue

   I don't want to save to Cloud, but with the 27.2 update I get this dialogue every time I create a new file and then hit 'save' or 'save as'. I clicked 'don't show again' but this option appears in the second dialogue box, not the first, so now I get the 'save to creative cloud' dialogue every time and have to click on 'on your computer' and then wait a few seconds for the 'save as' dialogue.

3. Stroke weight defaults to 1pt when a new type of brush is applied.

   MacOS 12.6.2
   Illustrator 27.1.1

   To replicate the issue:
   Assign a 2pt stroke to an object, then apply any brush to it — the stroke weight becomes 1pt.
   Switching between brushes of the same type (Calligraphic, Scatter, Art…) seems to keep the weight intact, but switching the type of brush triggers the stroke weight to default back to 1pt.
   Expected result: the assigned weight stays the same regardless of the brushes applied.

4. Illustrator crashes when cropping an image.

6. Bug: dragging global swatch to the “plus” button doesn’t work as expected

   Illustrator 27.1.1

   To replicate the issue:
   Create a group of swatches and put a global swatch inside the group.
   Drag this swatch to the [+] button to create a duplicate.
   The actual result: A new global swatch is created outside the group with “Original Name copy” name while the original swatch is also renamed to the same name. Changing one of those swatches also changes the other, they act as one swatch.
   Expected result: the same as when you alt-click the [+] button to duplicate a swatch. A new global swatch is created in the same group, it’s named “Original Name copy”, while the original swatch keeps its original name. They act as two different swatches.

7. No error gets triggered when a swatch is renamed to have an identical name with another one

   The issue: one can create multiple swatches with the same name.
   Create a few non-global swatches or use existing ones. Go inside the swatches and edit the names to the same value for all swatches — no error is triggered.

   Can’t reproduce. Please provide more info, about your OS, GPU, and screenshots of the 'shifting towards objects' you refer to.

9. Keyboard shortcuts not working with KLIM keyboard on ASUS laptop

   I have just installed a new (external) on my ASUS laptop and now all of the keyboard shortcuts that require three keys to be held, such as send to back, are not working. They work on the laptop keyboard.

   Shortcuts work in all other programs (such as word and online)

   I have updated all drivers, updated CC and also reinstalled the program. I have checked sticky keys are on and filter keys off. I don't know what else to do - it is severely impacting workflow.

10. Clipping Mask Shows Some Bugs

    Hi
    I’m using Illustrator CC (27.1.1) and macOS Monterey 12.3
    When I use a clipping mask, sometimes Illustrator shows hidden parts of images that are inside the clipping mask (that should be hidden). When I scroll through the artboards, bugs change shape. (Generally, images inside the clipping mask are effected by the transparency tool, screen, multiply...)
    Looking at the attached files you can see a clipping mask with some shapes inside.

12. Drop shadows rendering differently after updating from 25.0 to 25.4.4

    This is causing a lot of headaches in our department. The drop shadow appears to have gotten smaller after updating to 25.4.4, even though the values are the same. This edit is destructive and cannot be resolved by reverting to 25.0 and resaving. Attached is screenshot showing drop shadow changes. (AI file is larger than 50 MB.)

13. Arrow keys cancel file saving

    Illustrator v. 26.3.1 on 16 inch, 2021 M1 MBP running MacOS Ventura(13.0.1).
    When I save a file, I typically arrow over to the end of the autofilled filename to remove the end of it and add what I want to add per my file naming system. However, when I press any arrow key on my keyboard, the "save file" dialogue box closes, and I have to initiate the process over again. No other keys cause this issue to occur, only the arrow keys. I do use an external keyboard, but in testing, the arrow keys on the built-in keyboard produce the same result.

15. Shape expanded automatically bug

    This is a bug I am experiencing. As soon as make a change on a shape it gets expanded automatically and this is not reversible if a pathfinder mode has been used (minus front for example). I am getting a small grey notification saying "shape expanded". I have not found a way to turn this off but it makes Illustrator un-usable for my purposes. I am attaching a screenshot of the notification that appeared as soon as moved one of the rectangle anchor points. Please help me as this is a business show-stopper for me. :(
    Also when using direct selection tool, i used to be able to select a corner of a rectangle and a corner radius option would show up... this is now not happening. :(

16. A group with no appearance attributes is treated and marked like it has some

    1. Create two objects (e.g. rectangles)
    2. Group them
    3. Open Appearance panel
    4. Add a stroke to your group
    5. Remove the stroke (with the Delete Selected Item button)
    6. Open Layers panel and study the appearance 'ring' marker of the group — Illustrator now believes the group has a custom appearance, while there is none!

    If you click the Contents in the Appearance panel with the group selected, Illustrator will clearly say 'Group: No Appearance' in the top of the panel.

    This 'empty' appearance can be saved as Graphic Style even and applied to another object, giving no actual result, except for the 'solid ring' state again.

    This behavior leads to a problem with exporting the group as a vector shapes to PSD format.

    1. Create two objects (e.g. rectangles)

17. Linked Files Crop changing when reopening a file

    I linked .ai files placed with a "bounding box" crop from the import options. When this file with the linked file is closed and reopened, the links already placed automatically switch to a "media" crop. This causes the linked file to appear much smaller.

18. Certain colors generate #000000 HEX values in Color Picker dialog

    Bug in 2023 (v 27.1.1) Illustrator. Certain colors, when examined with the Color Picker, shows HSB rightness of 0, RGB all 0, and Hex code of #000000. See GIF.

    This is a pretty severe bug with other downstream consequence. Dragging these "broken" colors into swatches, for example, generates pattern swatches instead of process color swatches.

19. Illustrator 2023 performance issues in Windows 11

    This performance issue often occurs when I open Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time, making my PC perform extremely slow and lagging. it's enough to make me feel annoyed while working.

    I've tried reinstalling Illustrator and Photoshop, changing the graphics performance for the Illustrator & Photoshop app to "High Performance", updating the latest GPU driver, cleaning temporary files, updating windows to the latest stable 2H22 version. but the result is that the performance issue is still not fixed.

    additional information I use hardware: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, RAM 32GB DDR4, SSD NVMe M.2 500GB, Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, be quiet 700w PSU, Windows 11 Pro 22H2 22621.963.

    and just today I found the cause of the problem. when reinstalling Illustrator & Photoshop both went pretty well. but when I installed some brush packs in photoshop, that's where the problem appeared. it makes Illustrator extremely slow, even making windows run slow in performance too.

    and thanks for the hard work for the developer team that handles this software problem.
    I hope this performance issue can be fixed quickly.

20. Bug. Opening a file only opens the file window. Workspace missing (all other info windows)

    Double clicking on my file (when illustrator isn't loaded) opens just the file window. All tools and other windows don't open. I have to manually open a workspace or the individual windows I need. Does anyone else get this?
