1. When working with hi-res Black and White Bitmaps Illustrator goes to CPU preview disabling GPU Animated / Scrubby Zoom.

   When using hi-res BW bitmaps, 'Scrubby Zoom' or 'Animated Zoom' disables itself even if it's enabled in preferences. This happens after roughly 1 or 2 seconds after opening a file with this kind of images. The window goes from CMYK/Preview mode to CMYK/CPU mode as if it was in Separations Preview or CPU preview, even though it wasn't set to either of those. View>View Using GPU becomes grayed out so I can't go back.

   This bug is happening on a file with 2 1200dpi bitmap 5"x5" (embedded and/or linked), each under 1MB in size, making the Illustrator file 3MB total, included as sample to test. A 5"x5" 600dpi 74MB CMYK linked or embedded file does not have the same issue. Screen shot of both as additional proof. This bug is also happening on a smaller file Illustrator file, it has two 8.5x11 embedded 300dpi Black and White Bitmap tifs.

   I can reproduce this problem on both regular and beta Ilustrator versions on Windows 11 version 22H2, Intel i9 10850k 32GB ram, Nvidia RTX3090 24GB vram. This bug does not occur on a Macbook Pro i9 9980h 32GB ram, AMD 5500m 8GB vram on macOS Ventura 13.0.1. (It can get laggy with many BW hi-res bitmap images but never switches it's self to CPU graying out the GPU option)

   This is very strange because this seems like an error that should happen if you run out of VRAM or if the GPU can't handle. Yet the RTX in the PC has 3x as much VRAM and is nearly 500% faster compute than the 5500m. Windows is up to date with latest update 11/14/2022. Nvidia Studio drivers are also latest with update from 12/8/2022.

2. Alt/Opt clicking into the spectrum bar in Color panel now changes both fill and stroke on release

   When I hold Alt/Opt and drag the cursor over the spectrum bar, I am able to change the color of the inactive attribute — in this case stroke, since fill is activated. However, as soon as the mouse button is released, the fill gets changed to the picked color too! This was not the case in the the previous version.

3. "NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" APPEARANCE panel options NOT working for BRUSH

   On the desktop version of Illustrator.....

   When you use the pencil tool with 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" set in the APPEARANCE panel options, any subsequent/new pencil art has a basic appearance as it is supposed to.

   When you use the pencil tool with 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" NOT set in the APPEARANCE panel options, any subsequent/new pencil art has the same appearance as the last made pencil stroke as it is supposed to.

   THESE TWO 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" SETTINGS in the APPEARANCE panel options unfortunately DO NOT WORK this way when using the Brush tool.

   The Brush tool ALWAYS reverts back to the previously drawn brush stroke settings REGARDLESS of the 'NEW ART HAS BASIC APPEARANCE" settings in the APPEARANCE panel options.

   (On the ipad version of Illustrator none of these APPEARANCE settings/options are even available, where EVERY stroke simply reverts to BASIC APPEARANCE, which is annoying in the other direction!)

   On the desktop version of Illustrator.....

4. Highlighted selection box not appearing for text

   When I select text, the bounding box appears, but when I select actual letters/words to edit, there is no highlighted/selection box showing me that I am selecting characters and which one. It's like I'm playing a bit of a guessing game: let's see if I actually selected the letters I meant to, fingers crossed!

   The picture attached shows through the character tool module that I've selected two slightly different fonts(same face & size etc, just different weight) but that the text itself doesn't appear to be selected. I've only selected the italicized to the blue text at the bottom of the screenshot.

   FYI I just updated to most recent version of Illustrator according to the creative cloud app.

   Please check View > Show Edges command (or hit Cmd+H).

   This also hides a selection of a text, along with lines along the objects’ paths.

5. New File launch interface slow or unresponsive in latest 2023 update (21.7)

   New file launch unresponsive to clicks made with trackpad and Wacom Intuos Pro Tablet (with the stylus). Seems normal on mouse.

6. Automatic hyphen turns in to different glyph character

   I have a strange phenomenon on my Mac (Ventura 13.0.1): in the example there are three identical texts in 3 different font types (purchased, Adobe and Google). All fonts are available in the font manager program (RightFont) and auto-activation is enabled (the fonts are NOT activated initially).

   I open the Illustrator (27.0.1) file and RightFont reports that missing fonts are available for activation (Illustrator also reports this, but I ignore this message, as RightFont already 'takes care' of it.

   As soon as the fonts are loaded, the purchased and Google fonts have a 'strange' symbol (usually a different kind of Glyph character) at the place where an automatic hyphen should be.

   The only solution so far seems to be to close the file and open it again. Because RightFont had already activated the fonts, there is now no notification and the fonts are already activated/loaded.
   At the place where an automatic hyphen should be, it IS NOW PRESENT!

   The accompanying Illustrator PDF also contains the outline result of 'opening the first time' to show how I get it presented.

   I haven't been able to determine if this is a bug with Illustrator or the font manager program, but I see a similar problem with Suitcase in the Adobe Support Community, but no immediate solution.

7. 3 Color Trace feature no longer working after v27.1 update

   3 color trace feature no longer working after v27.1 update (also effects the other limited pallet trace functions) Previously the trace would simplify the colours of a trace, now it ads far too much detail and colour variants even when you request only 3. See attached simple trace, I wanted to keep the 3 colors from the original but extras were added (defined from low res original) this never happened before. I use this feature regularly in my workflow and have done for years. please fix this bug!

11. All elements disappearing the more I edit. They show in layers panel, but not on artboard or in exports.

    I'm working from (an up-to-date version of) an Illustrator file with five differently sized artboards. They all are using the same elements and symbols, just arranged different for different layouts. When I click on one of the artboards and select a group to scale down, the elements begin disappearing and have not reappeared.

    I exited the group and more elements in the artboard disappeared. Clicking out of the artboard group itself made the entire group disappear. When I click back into the artboard, selecting an element reveals the outlines and bounding boxes, but the artwork itself is not visible. Opacity shows 100%, and looking in the layers panel reveals that all the elements are still there and the links panel shows no errors.

    I've tried exporting the artboards, and the ones that appear blank in the AI file also show up as blank JPGs. I tried copying the elements into a separate file. Same thing. Outlines and bounding boxes appear when selected, but the artwork doesn't show up. I saved the file, closed and reopened. I quit AI, made sure it was up to date, restarted, same problem.

    I'd just copy the elements from the still visible artboards and rebuild my design, but editing ANY of the elements from ANY of the artboards causes them to start disappearing.

    I'm going crazy, please help!

12. リピート機能を適用したオブジェクトに再配色が効かない

    リピート機能（ミラー、ラジアル、グリッドのいずれも）を適用すると再配色で色を変更するできなくなります。
    ダブルクリックなどして編集モードにすればできますが、他のオブジェクトと同時にできなければあまり意味がありません。

    通常の状態で再配色でカラーが管理できるようにしてください。

14. Text highlighted with Layer color while I'm typing

    Do you have any idea why some of my Text objects stay highlighted with the Layer color while I'm typing (the yellow one in the video), and some don't (the orange one)?

    Cmd-H doesn't change that (the yellow one stays highlighted while I'm typing).

    Is this something in the Preferences, or Object settings, or Layer settings?

    Thanks a lot for your help!

    I'm on Mac OS 11.4, using Illustrator 27.0.1

15. Repeated items become invisible when I close and open Illustrator

    I made a file in Illustrator with a few shapes that get repeated in a grid, but when I close and open the file again, some shapes become invisible. When I click on them enough so they get in isolation mode, they appear again, but everytime I open the file they are invisible at the start.

    I tried to copy and paste these in a different document but that doesn't help.

    My operating system: Windows 11 Home
    Version of Adobe Illustrator: 27.1, but when I used 27.0.1 it was also there.

16. Color changes when document is closed

    I am working on several documents with a specific color, and when I close the AI file, the color switches to a different HEX code.

    This issue has no pattern that I can understand, since it does not happen with all documents. It is even more odd because if I choose the color I want with the eyedropper, it remains correct, but if I write the HEX code, it does not. Besides, the color profile doesn't change when this happens, at least that I'm aware of.

17. Image trace limited palette no longer works in AI 27.1

    Image trace does not use a limited palette when this option is specified in the tracing options.

    Steps:

    1. Place photographic or other image with many colours
    2. Choose any of the limited colour presets (16 in this example) and trace

    Expected result: Trace uses the specified number of colours
    Actual result: Trace acts as if 'Automatic' was selected (or otherwise disregards limited palette)

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 27.1.1 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

18. Multiple import of SVG doesn't include filters. Only the first file opened includes filters.

    Situation: I have 2 SVGs I want to import into Ai.

    I import the first one and the SVG Filter Effects are applied as expected.
    Then, when I open the second SVG, Ai just completely ignores the SVG effects.

    It's a simple bug which probably should have a simple fix.
    However, as a developer, I wasted 6 hours of my time not realizing you could have such a trivial bug, one that's so easy to fix, in your software after this long.

    Here's the second bug: "upload files" feature for the bug request doesn't accept SVG. Or maybe it's just a bad feature.

20. Align to Selection & Align to Key Object not working

    Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1
    Illustrator 27.0.1 & Illustrator 26.5.2

    I am not able to select 'Align to Selection' nor 'Align to Key Object' in either the Properties panel or the Align panel. It seems stuck on 'Align to Artboard' whenever I select specific objects.
