Freeform gradient error with fill swatch on deselection
Windows 10 Pro 1909 on Illustrator 25.0.1
Deselecting an object with a Freeform gradient applied causes the fill swatch to show a question mark. If an object is then drawn with that question mark in the fill, Illustrator reports the following error:
"Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the requested operation."
Here are the steps to recreate:
- Draw rectangle with a fill but no stroke applied
- Fill with any 4 point freeform gradient
- Click away from rectangle
- Observe the fill swatch now has a question mark
- Draw another rectangle
- Error message appears.
Incidentally. the appearance panel shows nothing applied to…

Cannot select type baseline with text tool when snap to grid is active.
Is there an option I'm missing here with the newer versions of Illustrator? I have to key command the grid on and off constantly just to highlight small captions or type.

After about 2/3 functions work area screen goes blank or random rectanges can not see art in any mode.

Rotation is too sensitive. I cannot use transform options.
Rotation was too insensitive in the previous version.

Scale tool slowing down and not responding correctly
I am not happy with the 2020 separate Scale tool. I am still getting used to the fact that I have to switch between tools but that is bearable. But the fact that this tool goes crazy makes me want to throw my laptop to the wall. It is way too sensitive to the move of my drawing pen and scales in an undesired direction. Usually, after I lift the pen but still hold the Shift for a second longer, the image/object totally distorts and going steps back lags and stops my work as I have to wait for Illustrator…

Artifacts when working with "pixel preview" and Cmd+0
MacOs Catalina 10.15.7
Illustrator 25.0.1When i working with Pixel preview and zoom in/zoom out (all ways: Opt+mouse wheel, Cmd++/Cmd+- and Cmd+0) artboard - it displayed incorrectly.
Switching Pixel preview of and on displays graphics correctly.If i disable "Display print size at 100% zoom" it works correctly with Opt+mouse wheel and Cmd++/Cmd+-, but Cmd+0 still works with artifacts.
If i enable "Display print size at 100% zoom" again it still working correctly only with Opt+mouse wheel and Cmd++/Cmd+-.
(Turning off GPU don't help with this problem)I test this bug on my friend's MacBook with same result.

Soooooooo slow!!
I've recently subscribed to Adobe Illustrator which is a good system, but using the software slows my computer down to an almost standstill. So much so that I can't use it efficiently. I've tried to cancel but it looks like I have to pay nearly £80 to cancel! I want to use the software but it simply is not compatible with my Mac. I'm using Mac Catalina 10.15.7.

Shear degrees not working in Transform window latest version 25.0.1
Using the shear in the transform window works but not correctly, When using an arrow to shear an item, the number switches from 0 degrees to 1 degrees and then back to 0 degrees and does not hold the changed degrees number but does shear the item. so if you want to shear say 15 degrees you can push the arrow key 15 times and it will work or you can type in 15., BUT will revert back to 0 degrees so you have no clue how much it is sheared. Rotation degrees works fine in the same transform window.…

restoring files is NOT working
I was working on a project and my computer reset on me automatically. After it was done, I tried going back into Illustrator and my work was gone. I have tried restarting the app and my work has not came back! Please help me restore my work!

Dock does not hide when toggling full screen
Hello, I'm using MacOS High Sierra and Catalina, however the dock does not hide when toggling full screen in Illustrator and photoshop, like any other apps. Any help ??

The list of available fonts is not displaying correctly, typekit not visible as well
This is what I'm getting when opening the search for fonts. I don't see any usable list of fonts nor the typekit options .
What could be the reason for such illustrator behavior?

Adobe themes panel window is cut outed..
The adobe themes panel window is showing in half, while it does not have a scaling option also to scale.
The right half of the window is cut out & non-accessible.

Color Panel changes back from HSL to RGB after restart
This is a very old and very annoying "feature". If you work in HSL mode and you have your all palets setup to HSL, after you close illustrator all you palets will reset to RGB.
This is counterproductive and bad user experience as Illustrator should save your preferred option and open your palets as you left them.1 vote -

M1 Apple McBook - Crashing
I just got a new MacBook Pro with the M1 Apple chip. Illustrator keeps freezing and crashing. It also causes my whole computer to crash! I heard many other people are having the same problem. It is unusable by this point!
76 votesThis issue (entire M1 MacBook system freezes) is fixed for AI 25.0.1 and 25.1 This fix takes effect in a day's time, if you still face this entire system freeze then please follow the steps to update:
1). Backup your preferences and launch Illustrator with fresh preferences
2). Quit and re-launch Illustrator once again
3). Use Illustrator in your workflow.
If you see AI crash and entire system is not freezing then please create a new issue.
