  1. Illustrator 2019, 2020 keeps crashing on a new MacBook Pro, Catalina OS10.15.4. Always crashes after computer sleep

    I just got a new MacBook Pro to replace an 11 YO iMac on which I was using Illustrator CS6. I had to switch to CC Illustrator. It crashes (about 8 times today alone)--almost always if I put computer to sleep with Illustrator open, but sometimes during work

  2. Adobe Illustrator 2020 (24.1.2)-The latest updated version KEEPS CRASHING on MacOS Mojave

    Hi
    I'm having crashing issues with the simplest movements like dragging, changing the type sizes, accidentally double-clicking etc.
    First the screen freezes.
    Later everything goes blank/my screen sometimes goes full black and forced shutdown follows.
    I'm using Macbook Air - MacOs Mojave version 10.14.6. (1.6 GHz Intel Core i5/ 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3).
    This is happening every time I open up AI without exception.
    Note: When I started my computer in safe mode-AI is working normally.
    What should we do?

  4. Illustrator window too small to open file

    I have to close and open AI files all day. Every 5-6th time of opened various documents, my entire program window will shrink down as small as possible and i will get an error message saying AI is too small to open the file when I already had the program as full size.

  5. Illustrator crashes and causes computer to restart.

    While using Adobe Illustrator, after updating, it has been crashing and causing my computer to shut down after sometimes only a few minutes up to a few hours of use.
    I have used InDesign and Photoshop just as much (as well as Chrome and many other applications) and I don't have any issues with crashing or shutting down. Only when Illustrator is running.

  6. Opening Graphic styles causes crashes of v23

    Checking on status of incident (ADB-4515680-P0G2). Adobe has connected with my computer twice and we were able to replicate the "crash" or freezing of the program when the graphic styles were opened in Illustrator 23.01. I am currently using V22 when I need to use graphic styles.

    Have the engineers made progress in determining the issue and developing a fix?

  8. Units in AI 2018 not functioning properly

    The new update to Illustrator, 2018, seems to be having issues with files made in previous versions of Illustrator, as of 10/19/17. I'm having trouble setting the Units. When I try to set my rulers to inches, they seem to remain at points - even the properties pallet.

    Although, I just reinstalled 2017 (on 10/20/17) because of these bugs and when I launched the AI app from the CC app, it launched the 2018 version (since I had not yet uninstalled it). When I checked again, this issue seems to have been resolved since yesterday. I kept double checking and…

    We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 23.0.3

  9. Decimal point massive problems (AI CC 2017.1.0 macOS 10.12.6)

    this problem has been discussed ad nauseam on the forum, but it still persists: AI 2017.1.0 on macOS 10.12.6 still has massive problems with handling of the decimal comma vs. point. On my system (macOS 10.12.6), all dialog boxes within Illustrator display numbers with decimal commas, but any operation (such as moving an item with cursor keys or using the cursor Up or Down keys within text boxes) makes the values multiply by 100 and then "explode".

  10. Rendering complicated files on MAC requires CPU rather than GPU

    Something is wrong with GPU rendering.

    My old iMac (27" 2016) used to have rendering issues with larger/complicated files. For example, using the HAND tool and moving around, sections would not render/refresh.
    I thought, well it's an old machine the GPU must be dying.

    Then i got a new MacBook M1 MAX with 64GB Memory.

    And I still often see rendering issues and need to switch to CPU.

  11. Illustrator 2023 performance issues in Windows 11

    This performance issue often occurs when I open Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time, making my PC perform extremely slow and lagging. it's enough to make me feel annoyed while working.

    I've tried reinstalling Illustrator and Photoshop, changing the graphics performance for the Illustrator & Photoshop app to "High Performance", updating the latest GPU driver, cleaning temporary files, updating windows to the latest stable 2H22 version. but the result is that the performance issue is still not fixed.

  12. Files take too long to close

    Any opened file takes way too long to close. It used to be fast a couple months ago. Then something changed and every file, even small files take at least 5 full seconds to close. Everything else is fast. Photoshop is fast. The only other program that is slow closing files is InD.
    Already tried deleting preferences, and rolling back illustrator to older version

  13. Stability update made Illustrator very unstable

    I noticed the 27/07/2020 update described itself as addressing stability issues, which I didn't have. Since the update ran, 3 hours ago, I've had three crashes - all when copying text and graphics together. My crash report crashed too.

  14. Preferences reset whenever Illustrator freezes/crashes

    Illustrator freezes or crashes 1 to 2 times a day. I use it for 8 hours a day at work. When it freezes, I have to force quit with Task Manager. I'm using 2020, and I had this exact issue with 2019. However with 2020, whenever it freezes and I force quit, once I open Illustrator again all of my preferences are back to default. These preferences include: custom Keyboard Shortcuts, the workspace, boxes that have been checked (e.g. the Preview box in Envelope Distort).

  15. Lag and Illustrator "Not Responding" after copy command

    The platform is: Illustrator 23.0.6 64-bit, on Win10 Enterprise 1903 latest updates, and with nVidia drivers R430 U5 (431.70).

    The bug is that Illustrator freezes for ~5 seconds after/during a simple copy command, and "Not Responding" is displayed on the top title bar. This can be induced by just opening a new file, drawing a rectangle, then trying to copy it (with Ctrl-C or with the menu command).

    This is destroying my workflow...

  16. slow cursor on second monitor when using Adobe Illustrator - only while using Ai

    When I used illustrator on my second monitor, the mouse cursor is astoundingly slow and a reduced range across the screen. This only happens when I use illustrator, not other applications. I am using a macOS Mohave 10.14.5 (18F132) and am connecting to my monitor with an HDMI using an HDMI/USB adapter for my laptop.

    This costs me in time and efficiency at my job, as I'm sure it does for other people, who have posted similar complaints on adobe forums. Please fix it!

    Major issue with Blob Brush lagging (if using either mouse OR tablet). When using Blob brush on earlier versions, no lag at all.

  18. AI 23.03 - Absolute Performance Hog

    AI has a clear performance problem on my MacBook Pro (Mid 2015, 15", top of the line model). My computer bogs down entirely, fans kick up, the software is extremely slow to respond to doing anything, even simple tasks. It's not isolated to my file--it is the software. Upon quitting, my system returns to normal. The CPU processes for AI were in excess of 120% and consuming nearly 40% of my entire CPU processor power (2.8 GHz i7, 16GB Ram).

    No trouble with previous version of AI.

  19. There is not enough memory available to process the appearance of an object

    MAC OS High Sierra Version 10.13.6
    Processor 3.2Ghz Intel Core i5
    Memory 8GB
    Graphics AMD Redeon R9 M380 2048MB

    Illustrator is CC 2019 23.0.1

    When trying to work on an image, my colleague is constantly getting the above message and the application hangs.
    Could you advise if there is a fix for this?

    Heavy cursor lag on arrow tools in cc2019. Tracking speed matches fine system wide, but is slowed / delayed in Ai.
