  1. Increase number of recent files

    Please increase the maximum number of recent files from 30 to 50 or 100 like Photoshop (both in Home Screen and File > Recent).

  2. Stop truncating filenames in Recent files

    AI truncates names of my files in Open Recent Files menu.
    Why?!
    Some of my files differ only in that truncated parts. I have to guess and remember.
    Please, give me an option to set limit myself (in Prefs file or Dialogue) or remove limit completely.

  3. List .ait files in File > Open Recent Files

    Since I start every new file with a template, it would save a lot of time to be able to click on Recent Files rather than root through several folders to fetch it. CS6 used to list .ait files.

  4. Clear / Delete recent from Recent files and File > New

    As you know, Illustrator keeps exported images in the File > Open Recent Files list.
    So if I export 20 TIFs from a single document — they will all will be listed there.

    This is dumb, and there are multiple requests to stop this:

    There are also requests to be able to clear that list (guess why there is a need for this).

    But we should also be able to remove positions from the list one by one.

  5. Show file previews in Open Recent Files

    Show a thumbnail of Recent Files, much like how the Icon View in the Mac OS Finder displays them.

  6. Add pin to recent files menu or home screen

    It is possible to add a pin in recent files menu or home screen to make them easily reachable if frequently used?

  7. Allow to filter files in Recent menu/section to include only AI documents and exclude chosen formats like PDF, JPEG, TIFF, Save a Copy, etc.

    RECENT FILES SHOULD IDEALLY BE ONLY AI DOCUMENTS.

    If I have exported say 10 jpgs in my previous session, on start-up my RECENT FILES is over-run with those JPG file names. They all have the same thumbnail too. That's outrageous!

  8. After AI crashes, list of Recent Files should be restored as it was BEFORE crash

    AI crashes quite often. Every time I relaunch it, I see documents in 'File > Open Recent Files' that I opened long-long ago.
    AI seems to save this list only after successful closing, which is RARE.

    Just make AI store list of recent documents elsewhere every time document is opened and restore it after crash.

  9. Recent files list - right-click menu with "Open folder"

    In Illustrator (and also other Adobe apps): when the program is started but no document is opened there is a list with icons representing the recent opened documents. My suggestion: Add a right-click menu on those icons with an option to open the document's folder in Windows Explorer.

  10. Add the ability to select multiple files to open at once from the Home Screen

    The home screen in AI, IND & PSD NEEDS a Multi-Select feature to easily open multiple recent files at once.

  11. Ability to open several documents from Recent section/menu

    The Recent Section we're presented with when we first open Illustrator, we should be able to select multiple files to open, rather than just clicking one, and then having to "cmd O" or use the File Menu "open recent files" please just save me hours of my life.

    When a file server is mounted on the Macintosh desktop, it will slow down Illustrator considerably. Especially one on a wide area network.

  13. Can't access the document directly after double clicking on the file and it gets stucked on the "recent cc files" page.

    even tried to double click on the document after the ai screen pops up with the recent cc files page, but still can't access them. same goes to the create new and open buttons.

  15. Option to disable 'Recent Fonts' feature.

    I hate having to scroll from the top of the fonts list every time i'm searching for a new font. Currently, in preferences there is an option for only 1 recent font, however, i'd like to be able to disable this feature completely.

    We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

  16. Merge multiple vector files files

    It would be very beneficial if you could target two or more files (.ai/.svg./eps/pdf) and merge all artboards in each of those files into one new document. There are scripts out there to merge multiple files but they often ignore the original artboard size or only merge the first artboard in each of the source files. This would save so much production time such as for Ui design, merging stock assets.

  17. Upload Adobe Draw files to Creative Cloud as .ai or .eps files

    Adobe Draw currently has the option to Save files to CC as PDF or PSD files but it would be great if we could save them as .AI files

  18. Copy multiple artboards between files.

    Copy, merge and save artboards between files. For example select multiple artboards, copy to other file, or save as .artboard file... Option to paste or merge this file/clipboard to other open document. Makes it easier to maintain libraries, icons, style elements etc in one file to work with or to share.

  19. Quick Look support for .ai files in MacOS

    Selecting a file in the MacOS Finder and then pressing spacebar to preview the file is one of the great features of the OS. It works with image files of many types as well as PDF files, etc. But not .ai files. Please build a Quick Look extension to add this support. Thanks.

  20. Make 'Recent fonts' section in Character palette work alongside with selecting current font in font list

    Recently AI made focus in font list in Character palette jump to the top of the list, in 'Recent fonts' part, thus making impossible to browse fonts in alphabetical order — you have to scroll font list manually to position.

    This is stupid.

    In 22.1.0 this request has been realized:

    Now user can set '0' in Preferences to completely eliminate 'Recent' section in font list — and this magically 'fixes' selection of current font in context.

    The current workaround for completely eliminating 'Recent' section in font list is to set '0' in Preferences > Type: Number of Recent Fonts.

    But since it’s stupid, please add votes to make it work properly.
