Window resize handle broken
Whenever I try to resize a document window now by clicking the lower right corner, it snaps to a larger size that fills the width of my screen and goes off the bottom beyond what my cursor can reach. I have to click the resize button at the top to undo. The only way I can now resize any window correctly is by dragging out from the sides and bottom individually. This is very time consumiing. Just fix it to how it used to work in every other previous version. It shouldn't take extra time with every new 'feature' you…

Illustrator is Saving files as a PDF by default.
Illustrator has been saving some of my large files as PDFs rather than Illustrator files (when I am just pressing Cmd+S) and the file is definitely not a PDF to begin with. This is frustrating because anything outside of the artboard is no longer in the file, the file must be opened as individual artworks, and all of the text is saved as individual letters in cases where text is typed along a path, or it's saved as individual words.
1 voteIllustrator recently has changed the way the file type is chosen in the Save and Export dialogs — now it’s sticky. While it’s fine for Export, it’s not exactly OK for Save, and here’s a report about this.
However, tt doesn’t makes the bug reported fixed, but it can certainly lead to the same result. If this problem ever happens again and you are sure you picked the proper file type 0- drop a comment.

Manually entering integer size values makes fractions
The Width/height (Screenshot B: / H: ) Values don't work sometimes.
If I manually type in the values like 20x20 it will create something like this 20,134x19,999.

Buttons in properties panel not recording in Action
When recording an action, there are things in the Properties panel that does not record properly.
Example: Flip horizontally/vertically. The buttons does not record, but choosing the same options from the Transform panel menu does record.
Is anyone maitaining Actions in Illustrator? It is awesome, but still needlessly limited due to many things not recording, forced hard-coded paths when recording save steps, etc.
Perhaps learn a little from Photoshop where actions work better (though still limited).2 votes -
Action not showing all recorded attributes
In the Actions panel, most of the settings for some recorded tasks such as saving, exporting, etc. does not show up in the actions panel so I cannot even tell what file type the step is saving as. Is that intentional?

Editing Character Styles Does Not Trigger Content Change
Renaming a character style does not trigger content change.
Thus, the asterisk does not appear above the file name (indicating content change), File/Save or CMD/CTRL-S are ineffective, and if one closes and re-opens the file the old names are still there.
Have not checked Paragraph styles, or styles in other Adobe apps, but assume this bug would present there as well.

illustrator freezing with simple pdf file
I've attached a simple pdf file created in R using ggplot2 graphics library, when you try to work with this file in illustrator it freezes. It takes seconds just to move the picture even on a 48 cores PC with 120 GB of memory.

Key object selection mismatch
When I select two objects and choose the key object for allignment, the top allignment option shows the «Align to key object» and object gets highlighted, however if I go to the sidebar to introduce a spacing number it shows «Align to selection» instead and I need to change the option again. This is so frustrating.

Most recent changes not showing when opening up the PDF file in updated CC
I have the most updated Adobe Illustrator. When someone is using an older version of CC and I open up the saved PDF file in my updated version, it doesn't show the changes that were made to the PDF file by the someone that has the older version of CC.
I even had them try adjusting the settings in the PDF such as, "smallest file size", "optimize for web", "Illustrator Default", etc..but no luck.

can't open file properly
v23.03
I can't open some file It hangs on interface background, it shows all layer of my file on my layer tab but I can't see any of my illus, I try to switch on-off the eye in front of the layer and it can't help.
So, I downgrade to v23.02 and all the problem are gone and I think you should fix it before this bug goes with the future version.1 vote -
Direct Selection Tool not showing bounding box
Hi,
When I'm selecting an object using the Direct Selection Tool there is no bounding box to it or any other indication that the object is selected.
I checked the View menu, and it is set on to show the bounding box, so I assume there is a bug causing this.
It doesn't matter what kind of object I select, or whether it's in a group or not - the result is the same: no bounding box or even anchors are shown.I'm using the latest release - 23.0.1 on windows 10 (updated).
Thanks
Ori Manor5 votesIt seems like the problem is not about the bounding box...
If you don’t see anchors selected, please check if you have View > Show Edges enabled. It's easy to toggle it with Cmd/Ctrl + H, and it’s a common mishap.
If that’s the thing for you (or not) — please comment back.
As for the bounding box specifically (the frame with 8 scale/rotations markers) — it never shows up when using the Direct Selection tool, and never was, and should not.
If you need to scale or rotate a partial selection of anchors, use Free Transform or Rotate or Scale tools instead.

Print not responding
I can open files but when I send to print I get the message 'Print not responding' and Illustrator crashes. I'm using Illustrator CC 2019. I have reinstalled my Creative Cloud and Illustrator app but it just won't print. I've never had this problem before.

laggy after placing linked files
When I place a JPG in my file (linked, not embedded), my Illustrator file becomes laggy. It lags when I pan across the file or zoom in and out and takes longer than usual to save the file. I've noticed this as a problem since the latest update of Illustrator.

Text becomes impossible to edit after several minutes of having the program open
Working on macOS Mojave 10.14.5 and Illustrator 23.0.4.
After working in the program for a few minutes, transform controls no longer appear around text boxes when selected (show transform controls does not fix the issue). Text attributes are then buggy when applied (tracking will not apply to selected word, can't change font). Shortly after, I can no longer select text boxes at all.
I'm a graphic designer and this issue is hurting my productivity greatly. Please provide a solution!

I have to keep re-activating fonts
For no seemingly obvious reason, and quite randomly, my fonts wont activate when I open Illustrator. I have to turn off "Enable Adobe Fonts" in CC and then turn it back on. This is getting very frustrating -

Symbols | Mapping stroke to 3D-Model will distort stroke
Hi together,
recently I came accross a mapping bug with a stroke ( width 0.2 Pt ) applied to a waving flag shape used in a symbol that was mapped to a 3D model.
All details can be found at Adobe Illustrator User Forum here:
Symbols | Mapping stroke to 3D-Model will distort stroke
Laubender Mar 21, 2019
https://forums.adobe.com/message/10989571#10989571Workarounds like expanding the stroke and working with an extra path element stacked behind the flag shape did not help.
The only workaround that will help is rendering the elements to an image and implement the placed and not linked image…

saving colors to adobe is disabled please contact your IT administrator
Illustrator 23.0.2 (64bit) and Windows 10 Versions 1809 OS Build 17763.379
This has happened numerous times over the past few months.
I try to create a new custom Adobe Color Theme in Illustrator. I am not able to do so and am given the error message:
"saving colors to adobe is disabled please contact your IT administrator"
I have tried restarting the program and signing out and signing back into my Adobe Creative Cloud but the problem remains.
Hope that helps - looking forward to a fix.
