1. Cannot select multiple files from creative cloud to place

   ctrl or shift key cannot be used to select multiple files from creative cloud to place. However, I can select and place multiple files from my computer.

2. Artboard Snapping is broken when creating a new artboard

   If you're creating a new artboard, you can snap the edges of the artboard to previously created artboards.

   However, if you hold SHIFT to constrain proportions (handy if you're making social size assets for example), the snapping no longer works, even though you'll still see the snapping points.

   Furthermore, when you constrain proportions, the artboard location will be a decimal point, meaning if you Export For Screens, you'll get extra pixels added to your artboard thanks to a different unrelated illustrator bug.

4. Pressing Numpad Enter no longer commits editing a note for an object in 27.6.1

   In previous version hitting Numpad Enter in the Note filed in the Attributes panel would have commit the changes into the field (while the main Enter created a new line). In 27.6.1 it’s not longer working, hitting Numpad Enter does not do anything — even create a new line. It should work and commit changes :(

   Steps:
   1. Open Attributes panel
   2. In the panel’s flyout menu choose Show Note
   3. Create any object, keep it selected
   4. Put the cursor in the Note field in Attributes panel and type anything
   5. Press Numpad Enter

   Expected: editing should end
   Current behavior: nothing changes, the editing does not stop, the cursor is still in the field

5. Multiple Artboards only saving as main file name

   When exporting multiple artboards, they are not saving as individual artboard names but rather, trying to save as the main file name.

6. Exporting SVG file with Preserve Editing Capabilities checked issue

   I have a doc with multiple artboards. When I export the SVG file, I select the individual artboard and export like usual, but recently it's been exporting the entire doc, with all the other artboards as well. Even previewing doesn't show all of the boards, I can only tell when I open the SVG file back up or look at the file size.

   Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

8. Can't access any of the toolbar elements since Updating to new Mac OS

   When I click on any of the elements in the left-hand toolbar nothing happens except sometimes it pulls me out of Illustrator entirely, as if I clicked on the desktop. Also the cursor appears to be off by an full inch. I don't if that issue is related, but I only started having these issues after I updated my computer to the latest Mac OS two days ago. Can you please let me know when this will be fixed. I have clients waiting for designs and I can't create anything in Illustrator at the moment. (Checked and Illustrator is up to date, Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.1)

9. With GPU enabled, the screen flashes when panned

   Windows 11 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, 64,0 GB, AMD Radeon PRO W6400

   With GPU enabled, the screen flashes every time you swipe. and most of the effects look like on the screenshot.

10. app.preferences.setIntegerPreference() does not work

    app.preferences.setIntegerPreference("rulerType", 0) changes the selection in the GUI but doesn't actually apply the change to the document.

    I still have to go into the GUI preferences, change the units to something else, then back to inches and close for the change to actually apply to the current document.

11. Variable Font Changes

    While working with a Variable Font in Adobe Illustrator 27.2, everything works fine, and I save and close the file I am working on. The next time I open the file in Illustrator, the Variable Font changes to an italic version. There is no easy fix to revert the text other than to select and adjust it.

12. A group with no appearance attributes is treated and marked like it has some

    1. Create two objects (e.g. rectangles)
    2. Group them
    3. Open Appearance panel
    4. Add a stroke to your group
    5. Remove the stroke (with the Delete Selected Item button)
    6. Open Layers panel and study the appearance 'ring' marker of the group — Illustrator now believes the group has a custom appearance, while there is none!

    If you click the Contents in the Appearance panel with the group selected, Illustrator will clearly say 'Group: No Appearance' in the top of the panel.

    This 'empty' appearance can be saved as Graphic Style even and applied to another object, giving no actual result, except for the 'solid ring' state again.

    This behavior leads to a problem with exporting the group as a vector shapes to PSD format.

    1. Create two objects (e.g. rectangles)

13. Smart Guides do not work properly in large documents

    I don't know if this is a recent problem with the 2023 version on Illustrator, but when I'm working on very large documents, smart guides simply do not work. I have to zoom really close to be able to snap and align this correctly. I believe that the behavior of such functionally should be scalable and independent of zoom levels.

14. Workspace keeps disappearing

    I had a custom workspace of everything I needed and right where I wanted it. Multiple times now I open up AI and my workspace is no longer there. I create a new one just how I want it again, and a short time later it disappears again and I have to start all over again. I don't know if its happening because of updates or something else, but it's frustrating and it throws off my workflow cause I have to keep taking take to reset everything.

16. Illustrator crashes if you search in the file explorer to relink/change image

    Windows 10 Pro (22H2)
    Illustrator 28.0 (64 bit)

    When you try to relink/change an image you get the file explorer window.
    Then you click on the search box and it freezes, only option is to cancel and return to Illustrator, but the program is frozen and the only solution is to kill it via the Task Manager.

17. Justification attribute to center text in Illustrator API

    Why do Justification to aiCenter and Align Center produce different results?
    Given myLabel string with at least one line break character in it, when I use JavaScript code like this...

    Set myFrame = textGroup.TextFrames.Add
    myFrame.TextRange.CharacterAttributes.Size = defaultFontSize
    myFrame.TextRange.CharacterAttributes.TextFont = appRef.TextFonts.Item(nameOfFont)
    myFrame.Contents = myLabel
    myFrame.Paragraphs(1).ParagraphAttributes.Justification = 2 ' aiCenter
    myFrame.Position = Array(myXPos, myYPos)

    ...the lines of text are not centered with respect to each other.

    Is there a way, using the JavaScript API, to achieve text-centering of multiple lines in a text frame?
    If not, I'd like to request a new paragraph attribute to the JavaScript API to accomplish this function. (The risk of fixing Justification is that it might break implementations that already use it.)

19. Isolation mode requires more than 2 clicks

    I have to double click several times to enter isolation mode when an asset is in multiple nested groups.

    It was not apparent I needed to double click multiple times to drill down into subgroups until writing this feedback and observing the program much more closely.

    I was trying to enter isolation mode by rapidly clicking on the element I wanted to isolate, but Illustrator does not drill down into a deeper group unless there is a pause in clicks. It is therefore possible to click on an element 10-20 times in quick succession which is interpreted as only a single double click.

    I would like to see clicking several times in quick succession drilling deeper through groups to a single element instead of only drilling one layer deep no matter how many clicks (above 2).
