i dont know what more i need to say... im so frustrated. literally wasting hours with this happening over and over and yall **** blocked the way cc2020 ai works with the previous versions. basically forcing us to us 2020 then it screws up.... i should of been a stripper.... thanks mom

Duplicating an Artboard with art on it and then Undoing it, causes crash
if you drag and artboard with art on it while holding option to duplicate, it duplicates fine, but if you Undo, the duplicated artboard remains and you can't delete. sometimes if you try and select the artboard illustrator will crash. the only way to update is to reopen the affected file.

Headline gone on export to PNG.
When I export to PNG the file loses my headline. Whether the font is set to color or not. I distills a PDF properly.

CRASH AND NO RECOVERY
ever since the most recent updates, my illustrator has been crashing regularly. And worse file recovery has not recovered a single file. this is very wack. I have lost money re-doing things I already made and lost because of random crashes. Very Very disappointing and not encouraging me to continue using illustrator.

selection problems
The problem here is with image objects. It matters how you select them. If you select them the wrong way, you get no selection handles, or scaling handles.
Using just the regular selection tool, if you Shift + drag over one image object to select it, then shift drag over another image object, you get no selection handles for scaling. If you shift drag over both image objects you also get no selection handles.
If you shift and click on one image object, then shift click the other, it works fine.

Backwards Compatibility
Illustrator 2020 appears to have sacrificed backwards compatibility with even Illustrator 2019. This change is detrimental to working across teams on large scale projects.

Artwork disappearing / Framework in Outline Mode Glitching
Illustrator art board disappearing and turning to outline mode if I zoom in/out OR try and move an object. Everything seems to be repeating itself in these weird wire frames. I have to save, exit out, then reenter that file. This is happening often and multiple times a day. I'm working on a PC, Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core i9-9900 CPU

Freeform Gradient fails at transformation.
Hey I like the freeform gradient tool. But after it is applied to an object, the gradient has some major issues with resizing and rotation of the object. From what I can tell the points are not truly anchored in the object, so when the shape rotates the gradient points drop off the object, causing them to delete. It's like the gradient floats above the object. Or more frustratingly, sometimes when using the line gradient within the freeform settings, a point will delete causing the lines to cross and lock up, becoming uneditable. Sunburst shape distorted when saving Illustrator (Version 24.0.3) file to PDF. I have created a sunburst shape in illustrator using a circle shape, then adding a dashed like stroke. The file looks totally fine in illustrator and also when I save it as a PNG and JPG, but when I save it as a PDF the sunburst is distorted (uneven lines). I even sent an illustrator file to a printer and my prints arrived distorted, which means they had the same problem. They are also using the latest version of illustrator. Is this a bug?

Artboard > Fit to Artwork Bounds with clipping mask and raster effects
Resizing an artboard with Artboard Options -> Preset -> Fit to Artwork Bounds doesn't honor clipping masks or raster effects. The new artboard size includes artwork hidden by clipping mask, and excludes raster effects such as drop shadows.
2 votesIllustrator now honors raster effects such as clipped shadows, and fits to clipping masks instead of their clipped content, when using Fit to Artwork Bounds or Fit to Selected Art commands.
However, there is no option to not do that, and to ignore Use Preview Bounds option in general — the fitting always uses strokes. Fonts load time
I have a page of paragraph text and select a top heading to change the font, right click to click on recent fonts window, to select one... but god help you if you accidentally mouse over fonts instead, the beach ball of death. Not sure but it takes literally 3 minutes to finally load, and I am unable to hit esc to try and exit out, it goes until it loads, waiting and waiting and waiting... so not sure if its my system or how many fonts I have loaded, speed ???? double rulers
I've isolated exactly when this occurs. If I use the preflight panel, then go into overprint preview mode, it happens when I exit overprint preview mode in the preflight panel. At that point, the top ruler becomes two rulers. It happens maybe 70% of the time. Furthermore, when this happens, the cursor becomes offset by the same size as the lower ruler. The cursor is off by something like 3/4 inch. It's easy to resolve it. Control/Y and Control/Y again and it resolves, but it keeps coming back. This only happens on my Mac which is from around 2014. Import error when trying to export Illustrator settings
When attempting to export my Illustrator Settings (My Settings -> Export Settings...) to a file for backup I receive the error message "An error occurred. Settings were not imported."

Editing Pattern Swatch + Saving = Crash (unsaved, unrecovered)
After creating a new pattern swatch with about a dozen objects, I double click the swatch to change the pattern settings. Either of the following scenarios cause Illustrator to crash EVERY TIME, using ANY of the last 3 versions of Illustrator:
— hitting command+s to exit pattern editor while saving
— double clicking to exit, and then hitting command+s at any point afterwardsTLDR; hitting command+s anytime AFTER editing a pattern swatch is crashing Illustrator
I've replicated this issue about 2 dozen times now across all 3 most recent builds of Illustrator available through CC.
