1. Asset Library Export stopped working with batch exporting

   From today for some reason batch exporting icons does not work in the Asset Export. I have a set of 150 icons that I use, and only change the color combinations as required. It always worked flawlessly. From today, When I click export, it seems to work, but no icons get exported when all are chosen. If I manually check a few at a time it works, but if I choose All Assets, it wont work anymore. Tried rebooting and clearing the cache.
   Windows 10
   Illustrator 24.2.1 64bit

2. Stability update made Illustrator very unstable

   I noticed the 27/07/2020 update described itself as addressing stability issues, which I didn't have. Since the update ran, 3 hours ago, I've had three crashes - all when copying text and graphics together. My crash report crashed too.

3. Point Type moving when opening CC2019 AI file in AI2020

   MacOs Catalina 10.15.3
   CC2019 version 23.1.1
   AI2020 version 24.2.1

   Only seems to occur when the text is aligned to the centre, set as point type and has tracking applied to it.

   We have artwork files created in CC2019. When opening one of these files in AI 2020, version 24.2.1 on either Mojave or Catalina, text that is set up with tracking, is point type (instead of area type) and centre aligned shows a significant movement to the right.
   As you can see from the attached .gif of the two files, there is one instance where there is no tracking applied on text, which is on the word "Helvetica" and this doesn't move at all between versions. This text is also left aligned.

   We work in an accuracy critical business where later versions of artwork are now being opened in AI2020 after we've upgraded from CC2019. To have text moving around from one version to another is potentially very dangerous for us if these movements aren't picked up by operators.

   2019 & 2020 AI pdf files attached. The 2020 file is just the 2019 file opened and saved in AI2020 which shows the font movement.

   MacOs Catalina 10.15.3

4. Freezing when selecting multiple artboards

   Windows 10 Ver.2004 (build 19041.421)

   2. Select two artboards

   This operation freezes the operation of Illustrator.

   This problem does not occur in Ver.23.1 and 22.1.

6. Smart Guides buggy at artboard corners

   When resizing snapping shapes or objects, Illustrator smart guides alert user that object is being snapped to corner or intersect, however it isn't actually, and it's not until you zoom right in that you realise it hasn't.

   Snap to Pixel is turned off. Smart Guides are turned on.
   There is no 'anchor' at that location other than the Artboard Edge.

7. Problem with Direct selections (A) - Clicking on the patch does not mark the object

   Hi,
   something has changed in Illustrator updates.

   I understand that an object nested / masked in an object should not be editable with the Selections Tool (V) from the main object level. Yes, and that's good.

   But definitely NOT when use tool (A). This is a different work scope situation in Illustrator when working with the Direct Selections Tool (A).
   Then each track visible in the Outline view should be selectable.

   This has made the job a lot more complicated now when I want to select objects inside a crop and edit their properties or shape.

8. Full colour image shut down to a simple line drawing

   Illustrator shutdown unexpectedly. When it recovered, my drawing was fine for a moment, then reduced all the work I had done into a simple line drawing. What is going on? I don't see the image I had spent many hours developing.

9. Library disappear glitch

   Had this issue in the past and it still comes up. Libraries disappear from my workspace when I click tab or some combination of keys that I'm not sure of. Before, I used to have to shut down Ai altogether but at least now I can go to the drop down menu to retrieve them. This shouldn't happen in the first place though.

11. MacOS Big Sur rendering bug.

    Hi!
    I am an apple developer and I installed Big Sur beta (now on version 3) for work. I run into a problem with Illustrator that other people are not seeing. If I open one file everything is OK. When opening two or more files, I get a really nasty visual problem, with Illustror only. See file attached. Is anybody else having this problem, is there a way to fix it? I reinstalled Illustrator and it keeps happening.

12. Version 24.2.1 Crashes at Launch

    I am working on a MacBook and updated to version 24.2.1. It functioned for several days and now crashes at launch. I uninstalled the application and re-installed it, but get the same result. I keep version 23.1.1 on my computer, and it works, but of course I can not open any version 24.2.1 files.

    Mac OS Mojave, 10.14.6 (18G3020), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

13. Asset Export does NOT retain the layer name

    When selecting two or more elements in a layer named "A" for instance, and adding to the Asset Export panel with the single plus button, it renames it 'Asset1' or something random.

    HOWEVER, if that same layer is nested one level deep, clicking the multiple + add button adds it as a SINGLE object, WITH the proper name.

    Very funky indeed.

    Need the single add button to just simply add it with the name of the layer.

14. Printer Preference Issue

    My printer preference screen: the very first tab is very small, possibly in half an inch font size. Some tabs are fine, but some of the options are cut in size. For instance in original size the drop down gives you a list of paper sizes well I can only see half of 8 1/2 x 11. So basically, the font size of the drop down options are about 1/2 inch in size. I have all the Adobe products, but it's only happening in the Illustrator. Sorry, hard to explain.

15. illustrator very slow to export to PDF (all versions including latest)

    I recently built a new computer as my laptop was taking too long to make PDFs, the new computer should be 2-4 times quicker but actually takes longer to make the PDF from exactly the same file.

    The old computer is a 2017 MacBook Pro:
    Mojave 10.14.6
    i7 2.8ghz 4 core
    16gb 2133mhz LPDDR3 Ram
    Radeon Pro 560 4GB GDDR5 GPU
    512GB SSD

    New computer is a Windows 10 Pro (fully updated)
    Ryzen 9 3950x 16 core 3.5Ghz
    64gb 3200Mhz DDR4 Ram
    Nvidia 2080 Super 8gb GDDR6 GPU
    2tb M.2 gen4 drive

    The same file will pdf on the Mac in 1min 12 second. and 1 min 42 seconds on the PC. while writing the pdf on the PC, illustrator becomes 'not responding' and only un freezes once the pdf is written, in that time none of the resources are being used more than 10% so there is plenty of capacity for illustrator to be faster.

    The system is fully up to date and has been tested to ensure all hardware is functioning as it should, in benchmark tests the PC is 2-4 times quicker than the mac.

    I've spoken with Adobe help who have taken remote control of the PC on 3 occasions, they have tried everything but not made any difference. the last representative could only suggest that there was an efficiency problem with some of my hardware not working correctly with Illustrator, but could not say what. It has been tested on all versions of illustrator back to 2019.

    My GPU is on the list of recognised and supported devices, all drivers have been optimised for workstation/adobe use. but if there are issues that relate to hardware Adobe need to publish it so people can ensure their hardware will actually work. because currently i have a £3000 paperweight. This is a workstation computer which i earn a living from.

    All other non Adobe programs and games function as they should with no lag or delay, the issue is most defiantly software related and none of your representatives have been able to help. sort it out!

16. The name of the font & font style aren't refreshed (top bar)

    The name of the font & font style aren't refreshed (in the character box of the top bar) When I click on another text element, it keeps the name of the previous font and font style.

17. Export As SVG does not work. Leaves no File,

    24.2.1, Windows 10
    File >Export As [SVG, use artboards]
    Expected to see the file when I exported, did not, repeated 3X,
    No file was saved to directory.

    I then opened Illustrator 2019 which is still installed, and it worked as normal.
    Export As SVG is the most used feature in illustrator for me, and this bug renders it useless. No file gets exported.
    Bug did not occur on same Illustrator version for Mac.

18. Variable Font bug: "wiggling" top of "U"

    2. Install the font from font/DaikonVF-mini.ttf

    3. Run Illustrator 24.2.1

    4. Type "AU" and choose the Daikon VF font

    5. In the property bar, click the Variable Font button and move the weight slider between the extreme locations. Observe how the top of "U" "wiggles" (jumps up and down). This is shown in videos/DaikonVF-Illustrator-24.2.1,.mp4

    6. The same problem occurs in InDesign 15.1.1

    7. The same problem occurs in DTL OTmaster 7.9 and in FontView 2019 (an open source app built from https://github.com/googlefonts/fontview ) — both apps use older versions of the FreeType library.

    8. The problem no longer occurs in FontView 2020 (which I’ve rebuilt with newest FreeType). I’m including both the 2019 and 2020 version of FontView in the ZIP.

    9. The problem also does not occur in Chrome 83 (which I think uses FreeType for VF), nor it occurs in Safari 13.1.2. Videos are included in the "video" folder.

    So it seems that it’s a bug in FreeType which was fixed by the FreeType developers. If Illustrator and InDesign use FreeType for VF, then Adobe should update FreeType to the newest version

19. Glitchy screen when opening a new document

    Whenever I open a new document on illustrator, or open some existing documents, the whole screen turns red and when I try to zoom into the art-board or the document in general, it begins to glitch and white rectangles appear. I'm unable to select or move around any artwork.

20. It is no longer possible to speed up vertical scroll holding SHIFT

    Holding SHIFT causes AI to fast scroll horizontally.
    Holding SHIFT + CMD causes AI to fast scroll horizontally.

    IE — no longer possible to fast scroll vertically??
