1. Current bugs that are making it nearly impossible to get work done

   As I type this, I'm reinstalling AI for the second time this month. This time without saved prefs. Please, Adobe, make this storied and remarkable piece of software STABLE before you talk about giving us new features. I don't want a new icon, I want not to have to explain to my boss that I didn't get anything done this morning because my industry-standard software didn't work.

   AI 24.2 (June 2020)
   MacBook Pro 16"
   2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
   32 GB
   AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
   Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
   1 TB internal SSD, with 2 external SSD scratch disks

   1. Crashes CONSTANTLY. Connect or disconnect a display: crash. Wake computer from sleep: crash. Check email in a different app: crash. Literally, walk away from my desk or use another app for a while: crash. This has been happening since March. I've sent so many reports, complete with what I was doing "to trigger the problem."
   2. Intermittently doesn't update files hosted in the library/cloud.
   3. When a filename in that library is selected, you start typing a new name and it starts selecting tools with keyboard shortcuts.
   4. When making a change to width or height, proportions are locked even if the lock proportions button is unselected.
   5. Align buttons randomly throw the non-key object hundreds of pixels out of place when you're trying to align to center. This one has been going on for years.
   6. New real-time drawing intermittently doesn't work, even on a new document, with only a single vector rectangle and one short sentence of text.
   7. Can't resize certain panel group widths (this started today).
   8. Regularly resets Snap to Pixel, after I've turned it off.
   9. Export for Screens constantly forgets where you last saved a file. Intermittently does this immediately after setting the output location, effectively ignoring my input.
   10. Export for Screens adds a suffix to file names, even if you removed said suffix.

2. 24.2 Unable to use special characters: English OS, German regional settings and keyboard

   On a fresh English language Illustrator installation (English OS, German regional settings and German qwertz keyboard on Win10) I am unable to use any character that needs ALT GR as a Modifier. I therefore can not access €, @ | and a lot of pretty important letters. If that helps, Photoshop doesn't show this problem, but Indesign has similar issues. Other, non CC apps with English UI language work fine.

3. Have to sign in every time I launch Illustrator

   Every time I launch program, on the same computer, same day, even if only a short time has passed, I have to sign in with Adobe Cloud credentials. I've signed out of the Creative Cloud Desktop app and signed in. Still happens after first launch. Painful.

4. Converting Text to path extremely slow

   Converting Text to Path ist extremely slow. I have a Job, where 1000 textboxes (each a 5 digit number) has to be converted to paths. On my iMac (3,7 GHz 6-Core i5) this task takes 16 minutes. I tried the same with 16 years old Freehand MX on a 11 years old MacPro 2 x 2,8 GHz Quad Core and it took 13 SECONDS! As there was never an Intel-Version of Freehand it runs under Rosetta what lets the Result in Illustrator look even poorer... And as I have to repeat this task 100 times I would end up in 26,6 hours sitting in front of my Mac, waiting for Illustrator. I will convert the files and complete them on the old machine with Freehand, but this should not be the workflow...

5. Navigator does not change view

   In V24.02(win10, 64bit) the Navigator panel does not change the View. Wherever you click in the Navigator, the view is just moving in diagonal direction slowly.

6. Objects missing when exporting JPEG

7. Font is bugging when saving as PDF file

   Some elements of font text are saving with an undefined glyph box (Box with an X) however no glyph is present. only letters "fi"

8. Illustrator crashes when switching views in the Asset Export panel

   Has this been reported yet? There's a really easy-to-reproduce crash bug in Adobe Illustrator involving the Asset Export panel that affects even the latest version (24.2) .
   If the Asset Export panel contains more than two items and an item other than the first is currently being renamed and the view is attempted to be switched from Grid View to List View, the mouse cursor will begin to move really slowly for a few seconds and after that, Illustrator will crash. See the video attached for a demonstration.

   Adobe Illustrator 24.2
   OS: Windows
   Version: 10.0
   System Architecture: x64
   Built-In Memory: 16348 MB

   On a slightly unrelated note, I accidentally checked "Don't ask again" on the Adobe Crash reporter that would normally appear after this and I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to re-enable that screen.

   Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

9. Unknown Error [PARM]

   I was starting work and clicked on Adobe Illustrator for the first time today, it immediately gave me this error and I hadn't even opened a document as yet.

   This is the first time this error has appeared for me and I do not know why.

   I closed the program and restarted it, the error didn't reoccur.

   I have a pretty new powerful PC (within a year old).

   I have attached my PC specs for reference and all programs are up to date.

11. Select same fill color does not take into account tints

    When I select "same fill color" or "same appearance" it selects all items using that particular pantone regardless of whether I am using that pantone at 100% or a tint (ex 40%, 50%, 60%).

    As per the comment, Illustrator can be made into respecting tints with the 'Select Same Tint %' in Preferences > General

12. File opens with one color value & the values change when placed in a new document

    Hi There, I am working in the latest release of AI on a MacBook Pro OS 10.15.4 (Catalina) and I am reporting a bug I've encountered.

    To preface, I don't know the age of the original logo file. The artwork is a PMS chip value, saved in an RGB document.

    To get the RGB value of the logo I opened the file and inspect the color. Since it was a PMS, I go to the RGB view either in the color panel or the selector in the tool bar & I see a specific value. (0/53/98) when I paste the artwork into a brand new file the RGB value changes to (0/55/100).

    In the 20 years I've been working I've never seen a color mix change from one document to another other when both are set as RGB. The same artwork is being used in each document.

13. Objects deselect on copy or paste (Illustrator 2019)

    This is a bug, not an idea.

    Sometimes when copying an object or pasting, the copied or pasted object does not remain selected.

    This is far less than ideal, especially when using Paste in Front.

    Happens in Illustrator 2019 / OSX Catalina

14. Illustrator is not exporting with the current file name

    1. Create a document
    2. Draw a rectangle (just for it to have something inside)
    3. Save it anywhere as '1.ai'
    4. Export a, say, TIF, with default settings (these don't really matter) — Ai will offer '1.tif' name for the file exported
    5. Save this document as '2.ai'
    6. Export another TIF — Ail will use '1.tif' name, although the file is now '2.ai' This is wrong. Ai should adapt the name from the file actual name and not the original one.

15. White selection tool: getting an error message that the entire item must be selected.

    When I use the white selection tool, to grab an edge of shape to nudge it, I'm getting an error message that the entire item along a path must be selected.

16. Scaling freeform gradient objects with real-time drawing/editing on.

    When I have real-time drawing turned on, I can't select multiple objects that contain freeform gradients and scale them without losing the appearance of the objects. A single object works, more than one at a time will not. If I turn off real-time in preferences, this resolves the issue.

    Mac os 10.14, Illustrator c 24.2

17. why can't highlight multiple layers from different group anymore 24.4 update !?

    I suddenly can't highlight multiple layers from different group, by holding down the (shift) key. And deselecting with (Alt) isn't working either!

19. Artboard Missing

    When I open the saved file, I find my artboards missing. The weird part is it saves my work. So every time I open the file I have to create new artboards for the layout I had done.
    Attached Adobe Files consists of 2 layouts:
    Page 1: Original Layout
    Page 2: When I re-open the file. I find all the artboards missing except for a default artboard.

    Very frustrating to recreate the artboards every time.

20. Pasting goes to the back of the layer - and not on top!!!!!

    When copying an object and then pasting the new object goes to the back of the stack of objects and not to the front! Please fix and make it go to the top.
