Global Process Colors get added twice when added from a CC library, lose their name and become Spot colors.
Create a Global Process Color Swatch and add it to a CC library.
In a new document, select this color in the library, right click and choose
Add to Swatches.
The color gets added 2 times, becomes a spot color and loses it’s name.
Or, in a new document double click the color in the Library. It gets added only once, keeps it’s name but becomes a Spot color.92 votesBackground:
- CC libraries does not have support for Global Process Colors
- Some users have spoken about InDesign – InDesign does not support Global Process colors
- Illustrator does support process colors , global process colors and spot colors. The issue is specefic to global process colors – since it is not supported in CC Libraries. We have added the request to support in CC libraries backlog,
Workaround:
- Create Process colors in Illustrator and add it to CC libraries – deselect the global checkbox

Swatches disappear
I've been experiencing this phenomena in which my swatches would disappear every now and then. One day, I'll have all the default swatches available in the swatch menu, other days, it'll only be the color white.

Illustrator does not change the colour profile of Swathes between open files of different color profiles
See Case 0189293847.
"Basic RGB" Colour Swatch does not change colour when switching files (tabs) of open files with different Embedded profiles.
If you close down then open illustrator, it will take and then keep the swatch with that profile.Replication of error.
- Create .ai file that has the "ProPhoto RGB" assigned profile and save ensuring the ICC profile is embedded
- Create .ai file that has the "sRGB" assigned profile and save ensuring the ICC profile is embedded
Edit>"Colour Settings", and set the Working Space RGB to "ProPhoto RGB"
Tick on:- Profile Mismatches
- Missing Profiles Press OK
Close down Illustrator

100% black will not output to film as 100%
Came across this same issue now using CC 2017 but was able to isolate it. Customer file in CMYK color space, black at 100% nothing in the document except a 100% black rectangle. Illustrator reports 100% black but when output to film black is approximately 80%. Copying the entire content to a new document the output is at 100%. Using the original document and changing the color panel to grey scale black is 100%. Changing back to CMYK black is also 100% black. Placing the file into another dicument also produces 100% black. The latest file was created in CS6…

User guide correction
Customer support asked that I make this post via their twitter account. I found that the content in the user guide identifying the various symbols and marks of the swatch panel is not accurately labeled. E and F are wrong. They should say LAB and RGB but they instead are calling the icons CMYK AND RGB. Could be highly confusing those just learning the software. Thanks!!

Eyedropper picks wrong CMYK colors from image's RGB preview in CMYK document
I observe that AI's eyedropper picks color not directly from a raster image, but from it's preview, but I think it's terribly wrong, especially when you pick a color from a CMYK image placed inside of a CMYK document, and get some mutated color instead of ground truth.
For example, I have a photo blended into a single colored background and I don't remember which one exactly. I pick this color with the eyedropper inside AI to match the image’s edge with the vector background ...and it almost looks OK, but when it's printed, the mismatch is quite visible.

Can't save color themes even when signed in
I'm trying to save a color theme but when I mouse over "Save" it says "You must sign to save color themes" even though I am already signed in according to the Help drop down menu. As a result I can't save any color themes. I'm using the 1 week trial version of Adobe Illustrator called Adobe Illustrator CC Tryout 2017.1.0 Release.
