2. Color guide options reset to default on Illustrator restart

   1. Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.2486
   2. Illustrator 27.2
   3. Open Color Guide Options from Color Guide panel -> customize Steps and/or Variation value -> close and open Illustrator
   4. Expected: Color Guide panel remembers options Result: options reset to default values (4 steps, 100% variation) so you have to re-enter them every time you start Illustrator

3. Free Distort effect ignores Drop Shadow effect within

   If a Drop Shadow effect is above a Free Distort effect in the Appearance panel (which means the shadow gets applied after the distortion) — it works fine.

   However, if we first have a shadow and then try to distort the object which casts it (the Free Distort is below the Drop Shadow in Appearance) — the vector geometry gets distorted, but the shadow stays orthogonal and immune to the distortion.

   Not a very popular workflow, I know, but still.

4. When working with hi-res Black and White Bitmaps Illustrator goes to CPU preview disabling GPU Animated / Scrubby Zoom.

   When using hi-res BW bitmaps, 'Scrubby Zoom' or 'Animated Zoom' disables itself even if it's enabled in preferences. This happens after roughly 1 or 2 seconds after opening a file with this kind of images. The window goes from CMYK/Preview mode to CMYK/CPU mode as if it was in Separations Preview or CPU preview, even though it wasn't set to either of those. View>View Using GPU becomes grayed out so I can't go back.

   This bug is happening on a file with 2 1200dpi bitmap 5"x5" (embedded and/or linked), each under 1MB in size, making the Illustrator file 3MB total, included as sample to test. A 5"x5" 600dpi 74MB CMYK linked or embedded file does not have the same issue. Screen shot of both as additional proof. This bug is also happening on a smaller file Illustrator file, it has two 8.5x11 embedded 300dpi Black and White Bitmap tifs.

   I can reproduce this problem on both regular and beta Ilustrator versions on Windows 11 version 22H2, Intel i9 10850k 32GB ram, Nvidia RTX3090 24GB vram. This bug does not occur on a Macbook Pro i9 9980h 32GB ram, AMD 5500m 8GB vram on macOS Ventura 13.0.1. (It can get laggy with many BW hi-res bitmap images but never switches it's self to CPU graying out the GPU option)

   This is very strange because this seems like an error that should happen if you run out of VRAM or if the GPU can't handle. Yet the RTX in the PC has 3x as much VRAM and is nearly 500% faster compute than the 5500m. Windows is up to date with latest update 11/14/2022. Nvidia Studio drivers are also latest with update from 12/8/2022.

5. illustratorだけ正常にフォントが表示されない

   TTEditで自作したフォントを10個インストールしましたが、Turetypeの日本語フォントのみillustratorでだけ表示されません。フォント名は連番で作成していますが（例：WA-01、WA-02など）環境にないフォントとしてフォントファミリーとして認識してしまします。
   手動でフォントを変更することは可能ですが、他のPCでは同じフォントと認識しません。
   Excelでは表示されます。

   PC：Windows10 21H2
   illustrator：26.0、27.0どちらでもダメでした
   実行：フォントリストの再作成、フォント名の英語表記ON/OFF、環境設定ファイルの再作成、Adobeのログアウト、PCの初期化、日本語IMEの旧バージョンON/OFF、Adobeの必須ファイルへ直接フォントファイルを入れてのインストール、Windows/Fontsへコピーしてのインストール

   いろいろ試しましたが変わりませんでした。
   PCも変更してみましたがダメでした。

   まず、フォントリストが削除出来ませんでした。

   解決策があれば教えていただきたいです。

6. Please repair selection of path text objects in a group

   When text on a path is part of a group, it is no longer possible to select and delete it.
   In previous versions Alt-Shift-Direct Selection allowed to select the path text and delete it, but in the latest version, this tries to delete the path from the text object, which results in 'Can't clear the Objects'.

7. Bitmap images change color

   I'm using Illustrator 27.4.1 on Mac OS Ventura 13.2, but I've had this problem for several years.

   I link to 1-bit BMPs and color them with a swatch.

   When I have multiple BMPs using multiple colors, the preview will often change to one of the other swatches. It does not export this way, but makes it a challenge to design.

   The fill color is still displayed in the toolbar correctly, but previews incorrectly until I swap the fill and stroke color twice. When i click somewhere else it will change again. In the screen recording, the bottom bmps should be yellow but they change to green.

   The glitch isn't always as consistent as the attached video either. It seems to have some randomness to it. Sometimes the bmp will stay the desired color for longer for instance. Sometimes I have multiple BMPs of varying colors and I don't have this issue. Sometimes they're in groups, sometimes not.

8. unresponsive after remote desktop disconnection

   While using AI (2023, Windows) via remote desktop, AI becomes unresponsive and must be force-quit each time the RDP connection drops.

   To reproduce:
   - Connect remotely to Windows
   - Start AI
   - Break network connection
   - Restore network connection

9. Lost partial fraction capabilities for OpenType

   It seems that Illustrator has lost partial fraction OpenType capabilities recently. I was able to create various types of fractions using the 'Fractions' option in the OpenType menu. As of recently, this capability has since been limited to basic fractions (1/4, 1/2, 3/4).
   Just to note that I did not change the font. I've been using the same font in both cases (Myriad Pro).
   Currently on Illustrator 2023 (Ver. 27.5).

    mit dem Grünen Punkt oben links im Fenster (Ampel) lassen sich 2 Apps, Illustrator und InDesign, nicht mehr vergrößern und zurück. Geht nur noch groß zu stellen aber nicht mehr zurück.

11. Illustrator 2023 opening file crashes when there is a broken link (usually with effects applied)

    OS: Window 10
    Ver: Illustrator V27.4.1

    When I open a saved file on other machines (Same OS and Version),
    sometimes the link files are broken. However, the problem is Illustrator will crash when I click cancel on the relink pop-up window. And if the file has objects that have effects such as drop shadow/ outer glow, etc. applied. The rendering effect pop-up will load and get stuck loading, crashing the illustrator.

    It doesn't matter if I hit cancel on the rendering pop-up, which I suspect doesn't work, to begin with.

    Have to manually kill the program with the task manager.

    Here is where it freezes.

12. Characters in font doesn't show up in Illustrator, but visible for that font in Acrobat

    Editing PDF in illustrator.

    I dont know why, but the Latin and also Latin Extended font in document is throwing me missing characters in illustrator.

    Font: Lobster (fonts.google.com)

    I havent had any problem with this yet. Any tips?

    Also I had a word "wellness". "welnes" was in correct font and another "s" was missing character...

13. Automatic hyphen turns in to different glyph character

    I have a strange phenomenon on my Mac (Ventura 13.0.1): in the example there are three identical texts in 3 different font types (purchased, Adobe and Google). All fonts are available in the font manager program (RightFont) and auto-activation is enabled (the fonts are NOT activated initially).

    I open the Illustrator (27.0.1) file and RightFont reports that missing fonts are available for activation (Illustrator also reports this, but I ignore this message, as RightFont already 'takes care' of it.

    As soon as the fonts are loaded, the purchased and Google fonts have a 'strange' symbol (usually a different kind of Glyph character) at the place where an automatic hyphen should be.

    The only solution so far seems to be to close the file and open it again. Because RightFont had already activated the fonts, there is now no notification and the fonts are already activated/loaded.
    At the place where an automatic hyphen should be, it IS NOW PRESENT!

    The accompanying Illustrator PDF also contains the outline result of 'opening the first time' to show how I get it presented.

    I haven't been able to determine if this is a bug with Illustrator or the font manager program, but I see a similar problem with Suitcase in the Adobe Support Community, but no immediate solution.

14. When pasting a line with a gradient stroke it gets converted into a path

    When copy and pasting a line (with a line gradient) Illustrator converts the line to an outline path. See video.

15. Measurement labels cannot be deactivated

    In "preferences" the option to disable "Measurement labels" does not work: they always remain active. It needs to be fixed because it is very annoying when drawing. Thank you.

16. 3 Color Trace feature no longer working after v27.1 update

    3 color trace feature no longer working after v27.1 update (also effects the other limited pallet trace functions) Previously the trace would simplify the colours of a trace, now it ads far too much detail and colour variants even when you request only 3. See attached simple trace, I wanted to keep the 3 colors from the original but extras were added (defined from low res original) this never happened before. I use this feature regularly in my workflow and have done for years. please fix this bug!

17. [ExtendScript] RasterItem.colorize() does not accept SpotColor via script, but does via UI.

    MacOS 13.3.1, Adobe Illustrator 27.4.1

    The colorize() method of RasterItem doesn't accept a SpotColor via scripting, but can do via the UI, so there is no technical reason I can see why this it the case. It may be a simple bug. Also there is a workaround by using defaultFillColor which does apply a SpotColor to a RasterItem.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start with document containing a bitmap (colourable) RasterItem and a SpotColor swatch.
    2. script: (adjust the swatch index to match your SpotColor swatch index)

    
    app.activeDocument.rasterItems[0].colorize(app.activeDocument.swatches[4].color);
    
    

    Expected result: colorizes the RasterItem.
    Actual result: does nothing.

18. Send to Current Layer not working - moves entire layer instead of only selected objects

    I'm trying to move some objects from one layer to another.

    I'm selecting a series of objects, then clicking on the empty layer that I want to move the objects to. I'm choosing Object > Arrange > Send to Current Layer. When I do this, instead of only the selected objects moving (expected behavior), all the objects on the layer are sent to the other layer.

    (Normally I would simply cut the objects, then use Paste In Front on another layer to paste them in the same position. But these functions are also not working for me - the objects get pasted in a random position.)

    I think it's a bug, but maybe I'm doing something wrong?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

19. Tool buttons appear as copies in other toolbars

    Ai display a copy of the currently selected tool in each custom tool panel a user have. This is distracting, eats up space, and serves no practical purposes.

    Yes, I kind of understand the logic behind this... 'what if a user does not have the currently picked tool in any panel now displayed? how can they know what tool is no active?' — but why EVERY panel? Choose one. Or let the user to choose one.

    You are allowing to create toolboxes with no fill/selector stroke, without Draw modes even (Normal/Behind/Inside) — something a user can’t get anywhere else if it’s turned off! But here you are pushing the active tool way too much.

20. Font Height Options Tab order is broken

    In Character panel, when you choose an option to display Font Height Options, hitting Tab to focus works wrong.

    Click Font Family field to focus it and press Tab to focus the next one, Font Style. It works fine, nut the next press moves the focus to the Font Size field, skipping Font Height Reference field!
    So it means we can’t access this field at all using a keyboard.
