Scrollbars missing - Windows 10 - build 23.1 (64 bit)
The scrollbars are missing when I open a file with multiple artboards. I see the zoom percent and artboard navigation inputs but they are floating almost 150px above where they should be. I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing.
This issue only goes away for the current session when I fiddle with the UI settings, but comes back when I next start Illustrator.1 vote -
Text fields not immediately active when renaming library items
Renaming library items takes several steps to ensure you are in the text field and any keyboard commands will not trigger tools/menu items.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Click on an object,
2. Drag to Library panel—often takes several times as noted in the video
(the libraries panel and new documents from libraries is flawed and not as efficient as Adobe Max presentations allude to, but that's another post)
3. After item successfully copied to Libraries, right click it in the libraries panel and click Rename
4. CLICK AGAIN ON THE TEXT FIELD OF THE LIBRARY ITEM

AI displays the START SCREEN on opening the file and the document view do not switches (refreshes) the file content.

When trying to open an existing file while Illustrator is closed, the software will lag and then hang on the opening screen. The file appears to be opened in the background, but there's no way to access or see it. The opening screen will give options to open additional files or create a new one (as usual) but when trying to do either, nothing will open and no New File Options menu will appear.
Everything will work normally only if I open Illustrator first and then the file.

What we have found out so far is that this issue can happen in multiple workflows. For clear tracking, validation and closure. We will closing this thread for given below two scenarios which we believe are fixed now:
1)Double click any Ai file to launch Illustrator

Snap to Grid and Snap to Pixel interaction is unpredictable
If both Snap to Grid and Snap to Pixel are both enabled, drawing tools (like the Pen tool) will snap to a nearby pixel that the tool is hovering over.
I'd prefer if it defaulted to the Snap to Pixel function, so it'd snap to the center of the pixel, but that also might be confusing with Snap to Grid enabled.

Keyboard shortcuts missing in File New dialog
In the legacy File New dialog, there are keyboard shortcuts to quickly navigate the settings, such as Alt+W for the Width input and Alt+L for Bleed. These are missing in the newer File New dialog.
Luckily, we can still use Illustrator's Preferences to revert back to the legacy dialog, but keyboard shortcuts still do need to be implemented on the new dialog.

Unticking "Use Artboards" when saving PDF does not work as expected
Illustrator 24.0
Expected result: A PDF file containing a single page of all the artwork in the document. Artboards should be completely ignored. Page size, cropbox, artbox, trimbox and bleedbox should all be equivalent to the total size of all the artwork in the document.
Actual result: PDF contains one page for each artboard, seemingly identical to what happens when "Use Artboards" is ticked.

Snap to Pixel gets enabled by default for both RGB and CMYK documents
I don't know why this suddenly appeared as a default, but there should be a way to ALWAYS turn off Snap-to-pixel. I have to turn it off every time I open a new file.

Performance and delay on Illustrator 2020&2019 - iMac 5k 2019 with Pro Vega 48
Here is the video where I compare performance issue with other graphic software and desktop CP with Illustrator 2020 on the iMac 2019. Fps is drop when moving canvas by hand tool and when you want to resize simple vector shape you see on screen and feel some kind of latency, delay (watch carefully the video below). XP-PEN Deco Pro Medium drawing tablet not working on Illustrator
So I just got a new XP-Pen Deco Pro Medium. I have the latest drivers and the latest version of Illustrator CC as of 18-10-2019.
It seems to working fine on all interface elements. But on Illustrator It won't let me use the drawing pen anywhere on the canvas.

Illustrator laggy and slow on when using CPU. Colours not accurate on GPU
Hello, I'm using a MacOs 10.14.6 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 and I have Illustrator 23.1.1.
I've been having the following issue (even before updating to this version).
Every time I use the CPU view Illustrator becomes really slow and laggy.
I mostly use GPU mode for this reason but the colours are not accurate in this view. Colours look more opaque.
I tried resetting my preferences, disabling GPU performance, disabling dictation on my mac, change my document raster effects settings to screen (which made a little bit better), but nothing quite work.I can't continue with the workaround of…

Illustrator takes a few minutes to respond to switching a layer on and off even when I'm working in 640x480 pixels !!

Hex Color vs Save
Windows: 10.0.17763.557
Illustrator: 23.0.3 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel i7 8700k
RAM: 16GB
GPU: NVidia GTX970When I change the color of an object via hex code, Illustrator changes the color but does not detect that an edit has occurred to enable the save option.
Step by step:
1 - Create a new file in Illustrator in RGB mode.
2 - Type M and create a rectangle.
3 - Fill in the rectangle with any color.
4 - Save and close the file.
5 - Reopen the file.
6 - Select the rectangle.

Expanding a Live Paint Object Changes Dimensions
Reporting a very frustrating Illustrator bug that has been there since version CS6 at least.
There is a bug concerning the Live Paint tool. Live Paint objects need to be expanded most of the time to develop them further in Illustrator. However, after expanding, the dimensions of the shapes get distorted and this renders the Live Paint tool completely useless for precise drawings or illustrations.
I hope something can be done to eradicate this bug as it extensively hinders workflow of many projects that need to be developed with Illustrator.

Pen Tool Malfunction
Pen tool will not allow me place an anchor point on certain points. It will let me anchor on the pixel above or below, but will not let me click to start a path anywhere inbetween. It's causing me to cut chunks out of images I'm trying to apply a clipping mask to or leave background slivers in.

Flashing screen
Since downloading the new 2020 Illustrator, even after the updates i get the same problem. While working on any document the screen flashes in and out very rapidly when moving the mouse in illustrator. It doesn't slow the software down but is very annoying when trying to set up a job and the screen is constantly flashing. All other adobe products like indesign, photoshop and acrobat work fine. Just illustrator i'm having the issue.

command Z, Blocks Reediting an object
If I edit an object or shape like adding or deleting a point and do not like it, I usually undo it with command Z. Once I use command Z the shape I was editing is blocked from being re-edited.
I sometimes have to copy the shape and paste in order for me to add the points in different location again on the shape.

network printer HP 8730 Pro
With the newest version of Illustrator (is it 24) there comes a lot of trouble for users with HP printer - maybe all printer which are connecting over the local network. The issue is that Illustrator can´t open any ai file nore make a new files while the default printer is a network printer. Here it is the HP 8730 Pro. With the help of the support desk there is a workaround to fix this issue. You have to set your default printer to Adobe pdf. But this is not a real solution, it´s only a temporarely workaround. File > Place svg: altered shapes
In Illustrator v24.0, File>Place of some svg images distorts the shapes. It works OK if I open the svg file directly in Illustrator v24.0, select the layer and paste it on my artboard (in another open file). It also works OK if I do File>Place in Illustrator v23.1.1.
The "attach a file" option here won't let me attach an svg (why not?) so I've attached an AI file instead. Hopefully if you export it to svg you can see the problems when importing that svg via File > Place. Some of the problem are: the "m" shape is missing a…
