Calligraphic brush renders improperly if Roundness is less than 10%
Calligraphic flat brush renders improperly (brush tip is S-shaped) when roundness is less than 10%. Was trying to do calligraphy with 5% flat tip in Illustrator when I noticed this problem, that creates a lot of cleanup. See images.

Default line stroke color needs to be black and no fill for line segment tool, it keeps reverting back to no fill/no stroke color
This has been going on for a very long time so I'm sure many others have seen this by now. I do A LOT of work using the line segment tool. Nearly 50% of the time I am using it, the stroke color or fill selections change on the tool. It needs to be set on default with no fill, black stroke color, with either .5 or 1 pixel (should be selectable in settings). Please for the love of anything... fix this silly problem.

Ctrl+F sometimes doesn't work
Ctrl+F sometimes work and sometimes doesn't, I have to redo the copy and them Ctrl+F again.

The menu does not respond well right after Illustrator launches

Immediately after starting Illustrator, the menu does not respond to clicks and only works once every two times. Also, the phenomenon occurs that opening a new document does not show up the first time. Focusing on another application and refocusing on Illustrator fixes the problem.
While investigating the cause, it seems to be triggered by the presence of an invalid plugin or its warning screen. Without it, it worked fine.
Steps to reproduce
- Put the invalid plugin into Illustrator's plugin folder
- Start Illustrator
- Click the File menu

Random delay when running script via command line
When you run a script via the command line, sometimes there is a pause between launch and execution. The duration of this pause is always different.
It would be nice if there was no pause at all.

Illustrator freezes when selecting links & switching documents with placed images
When working on a file that has a few placed images, Illustrator freezes for about 45 seconds when selecting different links in the links panel. This also happens when switching between open documents with placed images. To recreate the problem, I reset the preferences on the latest version of Illustrator, opened 2 files with lots of placed images, then selected different images and switched between the two open documents. Sure enough after a couple of minutes Illustrator started freezing giving me the beachball for about 45 seconds. This bug has only started happening in version 28. I reverted to version…

Mixed stroke colors become white when changing fills using CMYK spectrum in an RGB document
There is a way to make objects loose their stroke colors in specific conditions.
1. Create an RGB document
2. Create two shapes
3. Make them have same fill color, but different stroke colors
4. Select both
5. In Control panel Shift+click the arrow button next to the fill chip, to call the alternate UI with sliders and spectrum instead of Swatches view
6. In this dropdown panel’s menu pick CMYKStrokes become white.
This does not happen if the color mode in this panel is left RGB or HSB.

Arbeitsbereich mit zwei Monitoren
- Windows 11 und Illustrator 29
- Ich arbeite mit zwei Monitoren, auf dem rechten sind die Werkzeugleisten abgelegt. Diese Konfiguration habe ich als Arbeitsbereich abgespeichert. (Screenshot 1)
- Der Fehler tritt auf, wenn ich die Werkzeugleisten mit der Tastenkombination STRG-T aus- und wieder einblende. Die Werkzeugleisten erscheinen dann auf dem linken Hauptfenster (Screenshot 2) und ich muss den Arbeitsbereich zurücksetzen.

Struggling with Invisible Geometry when mapping a 3D object
I’m having a trouble with this invisible geometry. It just doesn’t work for a cross object. Either I’m doing something wrong or I don’t know.

Pressing Tab to Show All Palettes focuses a random third-party extension’s input on Windows

I use the Tab key a lot to hide/show panels, to instantly clear the panel clutter on the screen.
Pressing Tab activates RANDOM extension.This is bad, because I work with shortcut keys: T is for writingS for Scale, R for rotation, etc.
When an extension gets focused, I can’t call the tool I need and type something in the extension panel instead.Same thing with all the extensions below. I think all extensions behave this way. Has anyone ever paid attention?

Previews in the Font Family dropdown are rendered as scaled up, pixelated
Illustrator 28.5 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5

Save as PDF doesn't export opacity correctly when placed back into illustrator. Save 5 minutes prior was fine.
I made a small change to my illustrator file and it stopped saving correctly. Objects with opacity under 100 do not show up correctly after PDF save and when placed into Illustrator. Please help. The attached images show the PDF once saved and then the PDF after being placed into Illustrator.

Save as PDF turns rectangles white, regardless of pdf settings.
Saving a file as a pdf, whether illustrator capabilities are enabled or not, converts my rectangles (made with the rectangle tool (M)) to white. I've tried multiple files, new files, changing from cmyk to rgb and back again, and this keeps happening. If I use the same swatch and draw a shape with the pen tool, this is a non-issue.

Inside / outside strokes get silently expanded when you create a pattern with them
Try these steps:
1. Create a shape (like ellipse or rectangle)
2. Make sure you have Inside or Outside option chosen for Align Stroke in the Stroke panel
3. Object > Pattern > Make (or drag the ellipse to the Swatches panel)
4. Check the contents of the pattern.
The stroke gets expanded!However, if you copy an object with an Inside / Outside stroke and paste it into the pattern — it doesn’t get expanded and stays live... until you commit editing — only then Ai warns you non-cnetered strokes will get expanded.
Perhaps Ai should drop a message…

Dimension tool doesn't measure correctly
So, I went to measure a dieline with the Dimension tool and it measured 9". However, when i selected the dieline and went to the Properties it said it was 8.5". When I actually printed it out and measured it, it was 8.5". This tool is not working correctly. See attached images for further explanation/verification.
Maybe I am doing something wrong? Can't figure out what that would be though. Thank you for looking into this!
1 voteThe problem was in the '0' picked as the Precision value in Dimension Tool Options instead of default '0.00'. If you have this value changed by itself, without you ever changing it manually — please comment.

Dimension markers on drawings are not displayed when opening dxf files in Illustrator 2024
When drawing data exported from CAD software by dxf conversion is opened in Illustrator 2024, dimension line markers are not displayed. 2021 displays them. This may be a bug.

パッケージ 書き出しについて
作成データをパッケージ化するとリンクファイルを書き出す時とそうでない時があります。
パッケージオプションで「リンクをコピー」「再リンク」にチェックいれています。時々リンクフォルダが作成されますが、一部のリンクのみです。
作成データをクライアントと頻繁に共有しますので、改善をお願いします。
