  1. Opening Harmony Rules in the Color Guide crashes AI 27.2

    Lately when opening the color guide and clicking on any of the non default harmony rules instantly crashes Illustrator with a segfault. This is happening on several AI files. I am on macOS 13.1 and AI 27.2 on an intel mac. I have attached the crash report from macOS.

  2. Illustrator 2023 often force close when drawing with the pencil tool

    Illustrator 2023 version 27.2 freezes when I try to draw using the pencil tool for about 5-10 minutes with a pen tablet, and then immediately force close itself. and this keeps repeating several times and I even tried restarting my PC, changing the graphics performance for the Illustrator app to "High Performance", updating the latest drivers and software. but the problem is still not resolved.

    I really need your help for this issue so that it can be resolved quickly. very annoying when I'm working and suddenly force close by itself.

  3. Image Trace script does not recognize uppercase JPG files, only lowercase jpg

    Ai v 27.2 (64bit) Windows 10.
    Image Trace Script is not recognizing uppercase JPG file extensions, only images with lowercase jpg extension.
    I have not tried the same for PNG vs png to see if it is also not recognizing upper vs lower case extensions.
    The folder of images I was testing has mixed case JPG/jpg extensions. These images had been created in Photoshop.

  4. Grey borders appear on rectangles when exporting to PNG (scaled)

    When exporting an artboard to PNG (File > Export > Save for web), dark borders randomly appear, especially on light coloured rectangles.
    – "Type Optimized" gives better results than "Art Optimized" (although the issue is originally not type related), but still not 100% perfect in certain cases (shadows...).
    – The issue depends very much on the exact export resolution. In my case, I export 1600x900 artboards to 1920x1080 PNG files, i.e. a 120% ratio, which seems to be the worst case. 110%, 121%, 130%, 150%... do not cause the same borders on coloured rectangles. Actually, in some cases, if I…

  6. Crashing while using Wacom Intuos

    Using the Wacom Intuos Comic Pen & Touch pad (2015) model, and illustrator crashes every time I start using the drawing pad. Does not crash when I use my mouse for pen tool.

  7. Fill/Stroke automatically snaps back to previous setting

    Whenever I make a change to fill or stroke (color or on/off) it automatically reverts to the previous setting as soon as you click back to the artboard. (ie: select shape, turn stroke off, stroke turns back on, hit cmd+z to undo the stroke turning back on. This has been happening over multiple versions.

  8. Save Each Artboard to a Separate File - thumbnails are incorrect.

    When using the option during Save to save each artboard to its own file, the thumbnails for each of the individual files shows all the artboards instead of the the artboard being saved.

    Details of your operating system:
    Windows 11, Nvidia RTX A2000 12gb GPU, i7-12700 CPU, 64G memory

  9. Anchor point crash bug

    Illustrator v 27.5 (Bug has existed in previous versions)
    Windows 10

    There is a bad bug that crashes Illustrator when I try to move a path or shapes anchor point via direct selection tool.
    I will either move the path/shapes anchor point or handle normally or selected with key-binds (ctrl, shift, alt), when the bug occurs the software will seemingly freeze and after several seconds will blackscreen and no longer respond.

    It happens at random but when it does the software will not respond no matter how long I leave it for, I am then forced to close the program…

  10. Rendering complicated files on MAC requires CPU rather than GPU

    Something is wrong with GPU rendering.

    My old iMac (27" 2016) used to have rendering issues with larger/complicated files. For example, using the HAND tool and moving around, sections would not render/refresh.
    I thought, well it's an old machine the GPU must be dying.

    Then i got a new MacBook M1 MAX with 64GB Memory.

    And I still often see rendering issues and need to switch to CPU.

  12. Scaling appearance with Transform Effect doesn’t work as expected

    MacOS 12.6.3
    Illustrator 27.2

    Applying scaling transform effect with “Transform Objects” checkmark OFF
    and “Scale Strokes and Effects” and “Transform Patterns” ON
    doesn’t work properly in some cases, for example:
    irregularities in dash/gap lengths are introduced when scaling dashed lines,
    arrowheads are not scaled at all,
    pattern brushes are not scaled at all,
    art brushes are scaled partly (the unstretchable bits are not scaled while the main shaft is scaled).

    I would expect the same result as with Scale dialog box with the same settings — this one works perfectly. I want to replicate it as an appearance effect.

  13. Ink value changes to 0 while adjusting color

    When selecting multiple items with a different color mix, values changes to 0 when adjusting a single ink while it shouldn't change. In older versions this doesn't occur.

    In the screencap, the Cyan value changes to 0 so the colormix changes completely.

    Operation version: MacoOS Ventura 13.2.1
    Version Illustator: 27.3.1

  14. Object editing actions stop working

    Some actions stop working without reason. Sometimes I can't rearrange objects or even duplicate. That includes the Keyboard shortcuts for those actions. I need to restart Illustrator for it to work again.

  15. Illustrator 2023 - 27.5 Arabic Right to left alignment issue

    Hi, I am using illustrate 2023 [27.5] / MacOS Ventura 13.3.1 - Mac mini M2 Pro. Here we are facing an issue in Arabic text alignment. As per your help, when we paste Arabic, it detects automatically the language and when we select the language alignment and orientation would change according to the language. But here, even if we select the above steps the orientation remains exactly like English.   16. Eye icons are broken in AI in all panels

    Unlike Photoshop, Alt+clicking an eye icon in Layers and Appearance does not hide everything else but the clicked item. The second Alt+click should revert the operation.

    Same should apply for lock icons.

    Then, clicking and dragging the cursor down through eyes to show/hide everything below the pointer works only in Layers — but no in the Appearance, where this is as much important.

  17. PDF export misses

    After performing "Save a copy" and choosing the PDF, the PDF created does not contain all the art of the artboard. It seems random with no consistency as to what is affected.

    - Sometimes ungrouping helps, 50%. Most often I have to delete the art and replace it.
    - Could even be the same art that appears on another page, so its not errors in the art.
    - Could be copy or vector work.
    - Does not matter if its save as smallest size or other size

    The team would need the test file you can reliably reproduce the problem, the steps to reproduce it, the exact OS specs and the version of Illustrator used. A video can also help to study the issue.

    The color picker rounds the CMYK to the nearest whole number but the color window does not. They should be made consistent.
