  1. Recent file history missing on app launch

    Since updating to the latest version, on starting Illustrator I just get the "start a new file fast" section but no recent file history icons.

    Once I've opened and then closed a file the app returns to the home screen and then my recent history is showing but the Start A New File Fast bit has gone.

    Once I close illustrator down and re-open it the history disappears again :(

    Using Illustrator v24 via a Creative Cloud Suite account on Windows 10. I've tried uninstalling, rebooting and re-installing. No change.

  2. Mouse right-click Select next Object Below does not work

    When I right-click with the mouse on an object and try to select next object below it does not work/does nothing.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.3.0 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  3. CC 2020 AI and InDesign Crashing and Freezing

    Having major issues with both Illustrator and InDesign 2020.

    For Illustrator, if I double click an AI file in a finder window it crashes 100% of the time on launch, which in turn deletes all recent docs from AI's start up menu. Things are a bit more stable when launching the app and then opening a file, but still seems to easily crash when doing a simple task such as electing the font dropdown menu (not even selecting a font).

    InDesign is more troublesome. The program will frequently freeze even after opening a document that has a link that has…

  4. Preview pane no longer displays preview of .ai files v24

    Since the update to v24, I've not been able to see a preview in my preview pane for .ai files when opening a document. This is extremely helpful and hope that it returns.

  5. Extra Drop down Item

    Win10 Pro 64-bit | AI 2020cc

    Just pointing out the extra "Object" item on the Select drop-down (see attached). It does nothing and does not seem to be causing an issue.

    Also, I've noticed that when saving a file, it takes much longer than the previous version.

  6. SAVE AS PDF NOT WORKING

    Installed Adobe Illustrator 2020 recently and all was working OK for about a week. Now, suddenly, am no longer able to save files as pdfs. When I try, it gives me an error; the file shows no thumbnail and says it's "missing all pdf content".

  7. Illustrator v24 constantly crashes when I try to open a document

    The update for the Illustrator 2020 version uploaded and it never opens, it freezes up with a white screen and says not responding. Now my 2019 version is doing the same thing and tells me I don't have enough memory.
    I have tried to uninstall all CC apps and reinstall, I have also tried the CC cleaner, no luck.

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40GHz
    2.5 GHz
    16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
    64-bit operating system

    I am also having similar issues on my Surface Pro 64-bit

    I am unable to work on current projects at work, I need help!

  8. Watercolor Brush

    3 Second+ Lag when using Basic Watercolor brush.

    This is making some projects nearly unusable on the newest version. I don't know if the performance problems are similar for other brush types. But it brings Illustrator to a crawl on my workstation which should be overkill for running Illustrator.

  9. Colors disappear when moving a Live Paint object

    I have been illustrating vector images on iPad Pro Adobe Fresco. When exported to PDF (why can't I export as illustrator file and keep the layers? 1st missing thing (not really bug but just irritating)) and opened in Illustrator, I fill the line drawings with Live Paint bucket. When just moving this fully painted image from its place, some colors disappear in this image? Becomes transparent again: 2nd bug

  10. BUG: Can't open one EPS file, but can another in Illustrator

    I have downloaded an EPS file from my email to do some edits on from another design team and it comes up with the error message,

    "The file 'Worldmark.eps' is an unknown format and cannot be opened."

    However, I can open other EPS files from my email as well as from my external drive and hard drive.

  11. Some objects cannot be copy & paste. I need to do an Alt+ slide.

    Sometimes some objects connot be copied and then paste and sometimes they can but it changes of objects. It's really annoying.

  12. SVGs: Objects with dashed lines are split up

    Hello,

    I create an object (rectangle) in the AI with a dashed line (8px / 8px). Contour 2px and grey filling.
    If I save this object as *.svg and then open the saved SVG again, the path of the rectangle is fragmented.
    This denomination always occurs just before the corners. In other words, a rectangle is divided into 4 paths and becomes a group...

    Sorry for a late answer. Basically it happens because of 'Align dashes to corners' option that is turned on for the object in Stroke panel. When it's on, Illustrator internally treats this stoke exactly like you have in the SVG — a group of normal dashed lines with recalculated gaps and dashes, and custom inserts where it's required.

    SVG just can't handles this, so to preserve the look it applies this treatment, converting it from the 'live' to 'expanded'.

    Try to disable the option and comment back if it helps.

  13. Unable to export asset

    I am unable to collect and export an asset as I used to in the previous version of Illustrator. Please see the attached screen shot. I select the group in the layers panel, then I click on Object > Collect For Export > As Single Asset, then I choose 600dpi or 300dpi and I get the pop up error in the attached screenshot. Previously, I was able to do this successfully without issue.

  14. Free transform tool is broken

    When using the free transform tool to resize a text box, the transform isn't smooth, it jumps by huge amounts when dragging, and produces completely unpredictable results. After that, the outline of the text box disappears, but is still selected.

  15. 24 ver layer missing when opening in 23.1.1 version

    Illustrator ver 24. error!!!
    Saved a file in the new version with 2 layers, one layer went missing when I opened it in 23.1.1 version (the previous version). The same applies to PDF files.
    Please advise as this is so important for our printing process.
    Both systems (iMac 2019)

  16. Snap to Grid and Snap to Pixel interaction is unpredictable

    If both Snap to Grid and Snap to Pixel are both enabled, drawing tools (like the Pen tool) will snap to a nearby pixel that the tool is hovering over.

    I'd prefer if it defaulted to the Snap to Pixel function, so it'd snap to the center of the pixel, but that also might be confusing with Snap to Grid enabled.

  17. Keyboard shortcuts missing in File New dialog

    In the legacy File New dialog, there are keyboard shortcuts to quickly navigate the settings, such as Alt+W for the Width input and Alt+L for Bleed. These are missing in the newer File New dialog.

    Luckily, we can still use Illustrator's Preferences to revert back to the legacy dialog, but keyboard shortcuts still do need to be implemented on the new dialog.

  18. A blank white popup window opens over a file when opening.

    Closing the window gets it out of the way & I can continue. It only happens the first time I launch AI and then open a file.

    I'm on a 2016 MacBook Pro running Catalina & Illustrator 24.0.

  19. Unticking "Use Artboards" when saving PDF does not work as expected

    Illustrator 24.0

    Expected result: A PDF file containing a single page of all the artwork in the document. Artboards should be completely ignored. Page size, cropbox, artbox, trimbox and bleedbox should all be equivalent to the total size of all the artwork in the document.

    Actual result: PDF contains one page for each artboard, seemingly identical to what happens when "Use Artboards" is ticked.

  20. Adobe® Illustrator® File that was saved without PDF Content.
