1. Rotate tool doesn't center

   When trying to select center while trying to rotate an object around another one, it doesn't center. It will put the center of rotation somewhere around the center of the second object. Like this everything rotated and copied is off center.

   Not sure if it is related, but when selecting several items and want to align them horizontally, it just doesn't work. It is placed off the axis (imaginary horizontal line).

2. Can't resize objects, issue with selection tool

   Can't resize objects like images or text boxes once they have been placed. Could only use scale and rotate for resizing items. Seems the selection tool isn't working as it should, or it's illustrator itself. I've seen this seems like a recurring problem over the years

   This often happens when the bounding box gets accidentally turned off, presumably with the Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+B hotkey. You can turn it back on with this key or do it with the View > Show Bounding Box command.

3. Application name in dialogue box contains strange character

   Illustrator version 27.6 shows strange characters in dialogue box.
   The app name is $$$/GeneralStr/196=Adobe Illustrator.
   It feels not good, to use an app with a strange behavior like this.

6. OBJECT > EXPAND creates SPIKES in geometry

   I use Illustrator to create emboss patterns for production tooling. When delivering my patterns, all geometry must be EXPANDED and represented as real vector lines so that the engravers can mill out the tool.

   Recently, when I EXPAND the patterns I make (OBJECT > EXPAND), I'm starting to see random SPIKES in my outlined strokes when using the EXPAND tool in the menu. This problem is reproducible on my machine, but it does appear to be random. Sometimes it does it, and sometimes it doesn't. My vector curve is stroked at 0.03 inches.

   This problem is causing CRITICAL delays in my workflow, as I have to find these tiny spikes in a file that's essentially 110'' x 70''. This has never been a problem until recently, so can only assume an algorithm change deployed in a recent version is causing this. Really need your help in addressing this!

7. Illustrator not using GPU preview on MacBook Pro M1 Max

   I bought a new MacBook Pro M1 Max 16" 2021 I have the latest version of Illustrator installed. But when I work with a project where I have a bitmap image illustrator automatically switches to CPU preview and everything crashes.

   When I want to click up in the menu View > View using GPU - I can't it's greyed out. Cmd + E shortcut doesn't work either

   I can't work with the program like that. Please do something about it. For it is completely crazy. And you don't solve it and yet it limits the work quite a lot. Several users have written to you here and nothing. So why do we pay a subscription when such big problems are ignored.

   I have Illustrator 27.5.1.

   MacBook configuration:
   MacOS: Ventura 13.0
   MacBook 2021 16"
   Chip: M1 Max - 10 core
   GPU: 32 GB
   RAM Memory: 64 GB

8. File > New > No answer

   Good evening, I cannot create a new file on Adobe Illustrator.
   As usual, I click on File > New, then no answer, nothing happen...

   Any suggestion ?

   I uninstall the app then install again, same error.
   I checked with Creative Cloud Cleaner, same thing...

9. unresponsive after remote desktop disconnection

   While using AI (2023, Windows) via remote desktop, AI becomes unresponsive and must be force-quit each time the RDP connection drops.

   To reproduce:
   - Connect remotely to Windows
   - Start AI
   - Break network connection
   - Restore network connection

    There's a second border around a text in my file when I select it. I cannot find why, what it does and how to remove it. When I create new text, it doesn't appear.

    The object has Text Wrap applied to it. It can be removed with Object > Text Wrap > Release.

13. Illustrator 27.6.1 randomly freezing...

    This is happenng to a few of the machines in my office. AI will randomly stop responding. The window will grey out and the only way to resolve is to force quit (I've given it an hour once to see if it resolved itself, but no).

14. Toggling Layer Visibility now Lags Greatly with each New Layer Added after introduction of Search to Layers

    In May 2022 (before Search Layers was added for example) you could have a file with 2600 layers and toggle the visibility on and off in less than a second. Now in June 2023 the same type of file takes 30 seconds to toggle the visibility of a single layer.

    Here's how to reproduce the BUG that has been introduced into ILLUSTRATOR now:

    I'm using a - Windows 10 Desktop
    Illustrator v 27.6.1
    ASUS Laptop with 40 GB of RAM
    1TB SSD drives and plenty of scratch disk and page file space.

    Reproduction Steps:

    1. create a new Illustrator document 1920x1080
    2. create 100 new blank layers
    3. on layer 100 just create a very simple shape like a rectangle
    4. copy all 100 layers (so now there are 200 layers)
    5. drag the new rectangle (on layer 200) over and give it a different color
    6. now copy all 200 layers (so now there are 400 layers)
    7. drag the two new rectangles (on layer 300 and layer 400) over and give them a different color
    8. now copy all 400 layers (so now there are 800 layers)
    9. drag the 4 new rectangles (on layers 500, 600, 700 and 800) over and give them a different color
    10. now copy all 800 layers (so now there are 1600 layers)
    11. drag the 8 new rectangles (on layers 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600) over and give them a different color
    12. at this point you only have 16 shapes (rectangles) each with a different color, but there should be 1600 unique layers in the document (the other layers are just empty and blank for simplicity of this example to to show that it is not the complexity of the art causing the issue)
    13. select one of the layers with the visible rectangle in it and toggle the visibility of that simple shape and note how it take many seconds for the visibility of that simple layer to change
    14. in MAY 2022 Illustrator build a document far more complex than this simple example had no problem toggling a layer like this in less than a second with over 2600 layers, but now in JUNE 2023 there is a noticeable LAG that starts happening to toggling layer visibility as early as only 400 layers in an Illustrator file

    I've attached an example file below so you can see how the final test file should look like in case of issues following the above instructions in order to see and test the bug introduced in the newer version of Illustrator.

    Fixed in Beta 27.9 5. Please check if it works for you.

    At the test setup it now takes roughly 1 second to hide and show layers.

15. Image Trace panel becomes empty when docked

    with the new update, image trace is not working properly. it keeps on being empty . and you can only choose from the options from above not in the window . then i have to always restart illustrator and close the tab of it and reclick the image trace tab for it to show temporarily because when you do an image trace then click on "advance" it will again be blank! no options just grey

18. Gaussian blur reverting when opacity is updated + blur effect creating a rectangular frame

    Gaussian blur gets disabled when you change the opacity of the shape; and will have to open the gaussian blur effect panel to re-apply the blur.

19. Shapes drawn with the pencil tool are always created with the basic fill appearance, even if "new art has basic appearance" is not checked.

    1. Create a new Illustrator document.
    2. In the Appearance panel, deselect "New art has basic appearance", if it's selected.
    3. Select the pencil tool and use it to draw a curved line.
    4. Set the stroke of the line to 10 point and the color to red.
    5. Set the fill to black.
    6. Draw another line with the pencil tool. The stroke is 10 point red, but the fill reverts to none.
    7. Repeat with the pen tool. This time, the fill stays black when a second line is drawn.

    This problem was not present in earlier versions of Illustrator.

    System: Adobe Illustrator 27.6.1, M2 Mac Studio, MacOS Ventura 13.4.

    This is due the 'Fill new pencil strokes' option in the Pencil Tool Options dialog — it forces the new paths drawn with the pencil to drop their fills, even though the New Art Has Basic Appearance option may suggest both will be preserved.

20. AI 2023 no longer saving older as CS6 files that get recognized by other programs

    Illustrator 2023 version 27.6.1 no longer saves a file as CS6 that works with RD Works, a program used for laser cutting and engraving. I know it is due to Illustrator 2023. When I imported a previous project created in Illustrator 2022 and saved it as a CS6 file, they imported perfectly into RD Works without any problems. RD Works has never been updated on my computer for three years. Attached is a CS6 that opens properly in Illustrator yet is not seen by RD Works.
    
    I may have to uninstall Illustrator 2023 and go to an older version to complete my project. I don't want to do this, since I like some newer features.
    
    Please fix this, and let me know another workaround.
