Shortcuts stop working
Sometimes my shortcuts on the keyboard just stops working, so I can't press cmd+d to duplicate, or copy etc, while I'm able to press Spacebar to move around.
they just deactivate by themselves, while other's continue to work. To resolve this, I have to restart the program every time, even after short periods of working on the current project. The current project isn't even graphic intensive, but I get this issue. This has happened before a few times.

Zooming malfunction when switching between windows.
This occurs when I have multiple documents open in tabs. When I switch between tabs and scroll to zoom, it zooms in the previously opened tab, but not the current one. If I click within the document, then I can start zooming normally again.

Decimal point massive problems (AI CC 2017.1.0 macOS 10.12.6)
I’ve documented the issue here:
this problem has been discussed ad nauseam on the forum, but it still persists: AI 2017.1.0 on macOS 10.12.6 still has massive problems with handling of the decimal comma vs. point. On my system (macOS 10.12.6), all dialog boxes within Illustrator display numbers with decimal commas, but any operation (such as moving an item with cursor keys or using the cursor Up or Down keys within text boxes) makes the values multiply by 100 and then "explode".
When I start a new document, the Width textbox of the page says "210,00 mm". If I click into the textbox and use the Up key, I’d expect the number to become 211,00 mm, but instead, it gets treated as 21000, so it probably becomes 21001 and then gets truncated to 5779,56 mm (because for whatever reason, Illustrator won’t allow me to design a document larger than 5.7 meters wide, but that’s another issue). Then, the same problems persist in the Transform palette, the top control palette and pretty much everywhere. Also, because of that, trying to move items with the cursor keys result them to instantly jump off the screen (because if their X position is 300,00 mm, and I press the Right key to move them, they end up at 30001,00 or somewhere such.
Illustrator accepts keyboard input of numbers with a decimal point only (200.5) but those inputs get instantly converted into commas (200,50 mm). When I input a number with a comma (200,5) that number becomes 20050,00 mm. And all **** breaks loose.
This problem has been reported AGAIN and AGAIN, but seemingly nothing happens.
This problem does not exist in other apps, including other Adobe apps like Photoshop or InDesign — only in Illustrator.
I removed ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 21 Settings and ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.illustrator.plist
I uninstalled Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 and installed it again.
I even switched the app language — previously, I had the English (Arabic) version of AI (enAR) installed and now I’ve installed the English (International) (enGB).
This all doesn’t help.

Right Click does not work
This is not an idea, it is a bug complaint! My right click does not work on Illustrator on anything. I just downloaded the latest version of Adobe Illustrator Version 2017 21.1.0 in hopes to correct the "right clicking" issue that was in my older version (version prior to 21.1.0). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and the same problem still persist. My right click does not work! This is slowing down my work and it's definitely not time efficient. Help me fix this now!

Drop down menus stop working
Drop down menus will stop working at random. For example, the weight menu under the character panel will not drop down. However, if for example I have my font set to "Black", although I cannot use the drop down menu, I can select the word "Black" and type "Bold" and it will switch the font to bold.
This happens with various menus throughout the software. I have not been able to fix it. Even after quitting the program and restarting my computer the issues persists.

Fonts change after reopening Illustrator file
I created a mailer in Illustrator with around 10–12 artboards and exported everything perfectly with the correct fonts. When I reopened the same file after two days to make changes, all the fonts had changed automatically, some text had disappeared, and the layout no longer matched my earlier exported JPGs. The fonts were installed and displaying correctly at the time of the first export, so the issue only appeared after reopening the saved file. I’ve attached the before/after GIF to show the difference.

All Text Disappeared!
I saved my file as .aic but the next time I opened it all the text layers disappeared! Everytime I open the file it automatically creates a recovered version also, but still no text. I also cannot download the version from cloud that shows the last version I made with all the text still visible.

New Artboard Paste in Front Fails and Select Artboard Fails in Artboards panel
Illustrator 29.6.1 - Mac
When starting with more than one artboard.
If you select all objects on an artboard. Copy.
Then make a new identical artboard in another position to the artboard you copied artwork from, you cannot select the new artboard and paste in front.
I suspect it is a bug how illustrator keeps track of how many artboards it has because the name is always artboard [number] and the new artboard number in the name is always incorrectly one higher than the actual number.
You can no longer select an artboard in the Artboards panel and select objects you create on the new artboard using Select All on active artboard.
This creates a problem in Extendscript or AppleScript because you can no longer set the active artboard correctly and have it display properly even with redraw. This bug does not occur in 29.5Illustrator 29.6.1 - Mac

Allow to change scale and precision, show/hide units for existing dimensions
Once dimension is created, we can’t change some parameters of it: scale, precision, units displayed.
We can open Dimension Tool Options and change these for NEW dimensions, but both Properties and Control don’t allow to modify existing ones. The only thing we can do is change these parameters, create a new dimension and then hit 'Apply to all' button in Quick Actions section in Properties (which should be a menu command as well: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/49010378) — but what if we don’t need to change ALL the dimensions, but only some?
Another thing is to delete a dimension and recreated it (but what if I have hundreds of these on canvas already?)Once dimension is created, we can’t change some parameters of it: scale, precision, units displayed.

Strokes smaller than 1 pt (or 1 mm) become zero when Stroke Weight down arrow key button is used
If you set a stroke to 1 pt and click Stroke Weight down arrow key button, it correctly goes to the next smaller value from the dropdown — 0.75 pt.
But if you do the same with 0.95 or anything smaller than 1 pt, clicking this button instantly makes it zero, skipping all the smaller values. It’s even worse if you set stroke units to be non-points — even though there are plenty of smaller values in the dropdown, and 1 mm is much larger than a point, it goes 0 too.
While Cmd/Ctrl+arrow (not recorded) works fine with points, going 1-0.9-0.8... — for millimeters it works only down to 0.5, and then skips 0.35 and 0.25 (listed in the dropdown) and become 0 again.
Ai hates other units...
And we still don’t have hotkeys to jump weights (like we do for font size) — requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32307397If you set a stroke to 1 pt and click Stroke Weight down arrow key button, it correctly goes to the next smaller value from the dropdown — 0.75 pt.

Objects invisible after leaving Isolation Mode
After making changes in Isolation Mode the objects become invisible until I move it. This has been happening to me in many different files.

Adding new anchors with Pen tool when Snap to Grid is enabled is treated wrong and inconsistently
Illustrator allows to snap stuff to grid, but really doesn’t love doing it (here’s a request about the tolerance and how it’s to harsh in general: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/49616738)
Here in a GIF I’m creating a simple path with anchors placed on a grid. After closing the shape, I decide to add several points in-between, and have them on the grid as well... but the only anchor I can place normally is the one in the middle, that happen to be exactly (within an unknow tolerance) at the intersection of the grid lines (and the cursor gets a + to indicate adding would happen).
But for some reason when I try to add an anchor within the magenta circle... a new path gets started.
Well, OK, the path is too far from the grid node, I guess...
But then I try to add a point below the one I was able to place — and it gets added! ...even though it’s not on a grid node at all, but at a grid line... OK, but this happens only if I am zoomed out enough, because if I zoom in — it won’t happen, the tolerance hit is detected in the screen space. And even if I try to add an anchor on a path at a grid line intentionally — Ai won’t let me.So what we have to do, is to disable Snap to Grid, place points, enable the snapping back, and move each point to snap to grid line intersection again.
This differs from how snapping to grid happens in other editors. If I try the same in Affinity Designer (using Node tool) — it will offer me to place new anchor on intersections with grid lines, like the second GIF shows.
I am also told Fontlab catches a mouse click to see if it hits a path first, then adds the anchor, and only then snaps it to the grid — and it makes practical sense as well.Perhaps start loving grids?

Transform Each records angles for gradients in a way Eyedropper cannot pick them
Take a look at the test file attached and the GIF with the steps.
1. All gradients have zero angle
2. Select All and call Transform Each dialog
3. Set an angle (I chose45°) and disable Transform Objects — this should rotate only the fill, not the paths. Apply.
4. Check the angles with the Gradient panel, the values is displayed as correct.
5. Create a new rectangle and set its appearance to the default one with D hotkey
6. Pick the Eyedropper toll and make sure both Appearance options are enabled in its options (otherwise it shouldn’t work at all: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/37272676)
7. Pick the fill from a rectangle with the rotated fill.
8. The angle is not picked. The problem seems to be similar to the one that happens with any script that tries to deal with rotated gradients... Script can read the parameter, but can’t write it. The common rotation method is used, and it gets written as a transformation matrix, I presume, and it is more generalized than just rotation, it can be anything likes skewing.
And Ai can’t automatically convert a simple one into the rotation. Please address both issues.

Missing fonts warning when no fonts are missing
Every time I open any illustrator document, the missing fonts box shows up telling me all of the fonts are missing, but when I click replace fonts, they don't show as missing any more and there's no issue. This is a really annoying bug.

Edit Contents button in Control panel ignores the scope and always prefers the layer-level clip to the selected object-level clip
In Illustrator we can make object-lelvel clip groups, by selecting objects and using Make Clipping Mask command.
We also can apply a clipping mask directly to a layer if we select a path for a mask only, highlighting the layer we need to clip in Layers, and using a different Make Clipping Mask command, from the panel’s flyout menu.
But then, if we select the object level clipping group and decide to select its clipped content, using the dedicated button in Control panel, it will ignore the scope and the intention and prefer to select the clipped layer’s content — which is everything in it, rendering this button useless.
Please watch the GIF attached.
Why does creating a clipping mask for a layer requires highlighting it in Layers, but the same approach is not respected for using Edit Contents button?
Be consistent and fix it, please.

The "color spectrum" in Color panel always shrinking to the minimal size and it is very annoying.
Every time I open Adobe Illustrator, the "color spectrum" in color panel always shrinking to the minimal size. Could you please make it not change according to the size the user wants. I usually need the "color spectrum" to be full size (maximum size). That would really help us designer a lot. Thanks, Adobe team.

Sometimes Align panel has no Align To options enabled, even with a selection present
Occasionally I have an object selected, hit a hotkey assigned to an Align command, but nothing happens, even though Ai should automatically enable Align To Artboard with the only object selected.
I open the Align panel (in these cases it’s usually collapsed) and realize none of three Align To option buttons is pressed! I click Align To Artboard one manually, and then it works, and it doesn’t happen anymore... until the next time it misfires like this.
Probably it happens at least one per Ai session, I can’t tell yet.

Smart Guide Measurement Labels give a diameter for polygon live shapes, but show a width and height
Smart guide measurement labels display the diameter of polygon live shapes rather than their width/height, but still lists it as W/H in the label itself.
Steps:
1. Create a polygon with a square bounding box (like an octagon)
2. With smart guide measurement labels on, drag to a specific size.
3. Note discrepancy between the size listed when you release and the size in the transform panel.Result: Label displays a different W/H figure than the transform panel.
Expected result: Either the measurement label explicitly informs the users that it displays diameter (i.e.: 'Dia: 100 px'), or it displays the bounding box width/height.I'd imagine the latter is more sensible since a diameter for polygons is listed nowhere else that I am aware.
