Print Area doesn't adjust according to Print Driver
Once you print and click on setup, then proceed to set your printer up for custom sizes the print area in the print dialog box doesn't change. In order to get it to match the artboard and what you have inputted into the printers driver, you have to click on setup again and print. This adjusts the print area but this extra step is a bug.

Ungroup hotkey does not work
'Ungroup' keystroke (CTRL+SHIFT+G) does not work. I even went into the keyboard shortcuts and tried to reassign that keystroke to the command, and it won't let me. 'Group' (CTRL+G) works great. Clicking ungroup in the properties panel is the only thing that works.

Paste Remembers Layers doesn't work if original layer is hidden
Steps:
Create object on layer.
Copy object.
Hide layer.
Create new layer.
Paste object with new layer selected. It will warn you that the layer you're attempting to paste onto is hidden. But... no it's not. I have the "Paste remembers layers" checkbox turned off.
This is either a bug, or someone should stick close to someone who actually understands user expectations.

GetPresetSettings function doesn't work correctly in CC 2017 and later
In Illustrator CC 2017 (22.x) and CC 2018 (23.x) the AIDocumentList::GetPresetSettings function is broken. It still returns an error if the preset doesn't exist, but if the preset does exist, it returns 0, but doesn't fill in the AINewDocumentPreset structure.

Tabs captions are missing, Home screen is visible through the hole
Above the top ruler I should be able to see a tab, or multiple tabs when several files are open. However all that is shown is a cropped "Ai" ident. This means the only way I can flick between files is by through "Window" in the top panel.

Keyboard Increments in preferences doesn't work.
I set my Keyboard Increment to .0139 and anchor points move correctly. Then I change it to .00139, which has alway worked in the past, it now jumps about 10X the correct distance. I restarted. No change. I uninstalled, then reinstalled. No change. I restarted my computer. No change. I can't work with it like this. How do I get this fixed?

Character Styles and Color Picker
Assigned a color value of #c0c0c0 to a Character Style. Selecting the same text and then checking the color in the Color Picker returns a hex value of #bfbebe. Ideas?

Printing problems with latest Illustrator
The latest version of Illustrator CC 22.1 will no longer print our label artwork. We are a commercial winery and have no previous issues printing these files. We are running Windows 10 64 version 1803 6/9/2018 OS build 17134.165.
As a work around, we tried printing these files from Acrobat DC which is included in our creative cloud package. The files print fine.
We are seeing a lot of people complaining that it is the Myriad Pro font but as I stated we can print the files from Acrobat DC but just not Illustrator.

Problems with text, bounding box, selections, scaling and more
Hello, I’ve been having a problem with Illustrator for now a week. The version I am working with is 22.1 and I am working on a MacBook Pro 15in 2017 with Sierra 10.13.5, Processor: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7, Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, Graphics: Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB and Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB,
I noticed that the problem always starts showing up when I am working with text, especially when changing the tracking of the text. The problem shows up after usually a couple hours of work and it “resets” when restarting the application or the machine. It doesn’t happen with mathematical precision, sometimes it takes 5 minutes to show up, other times it takes a few hours, but since last week every time I worked on Illustrator this problem showed up sooner or later. It also seems to get worse and worse with time. At the beginning it was a subtle glitch of the text that I could resolve with restarting the machine or the application, but now it happens more and more frequently and restarting is not helpful anymore. This problem appears with ALL my files and also when creating a new file.
What happens:
Let's say I have some text that is 72pt and with tracking 0 in red and other shapes and text boxes around it in the artboard.
1- I select the text box mentioned before
2 - I make the tracking 200 in the character panel
3 - At this point the text gets back to the previous size and colors, so for example the initial size 12pt and black. Instead of being 72pt with tracking 200 in red.
4- Then from there the problem degenerates and develops in problems with bounding box, selections and it becomes impossible to work. Following I list all kind of problems I encounter after the problem shows up:
- The text becomes impossible to control because every time I would make a change it would change back to a previous style
- The bounding box disappears, or behaves weirdly for example not following the object or text if I move it
- Selections happen randomly, so for example I select an object and some text gets selected too
- Objects randomly move and repeat movements and changes in a way that seems to mimic the CMD+Z
- Guidelines (the pink snapping ones) are completely random and stays active even when deselecting an objectI am uploading a video where you can see me trying to move the blue line on the right. You can definitely see that the bounding box and selections behave crazy. The text gets also selected and when trying to move the line the text goes back of a step (so changes position or rotation to the previous one). The line keeps moving back.
I also showed the document on CMD+Y mode and you can see the bounding boxes are not showing. Also I noticed in the past days when working on my coworker computer (a desktop Mac with a different creative cloud installed - different account) that there are little glitches of the same problem starting there as well, so for example the text is doing the same thing when I change the tracking : the text changes size and gets to the previous step of work when trying to change tracking. It’s not even close to where my issue is at but I know it is starting to behave weird. I also read some other posts on this board with similar problems.
I’ve been in contact with the Adobe Support for a week now and it doesn’t seem anything is wrong with my computer. I also reset completely my computer a couple days ago, deleting all memory and applications, but that didn’t help, the problem showed up after a few hours of work.
If you can’t reproduce the problem I can gladly share with you my screen and show you. Also this is the list of things that the Support has tried to fix the problem:
- Reset the preferences
- Deleting all my Wacom drivers
- Deactivating my Intel graphic card (I am still confused about this one - does it mean now I am not using my computer at its maximum power? Can I activate it again?)
- More changes to app folders and similar…Please can you help me solving this issue? It is not only annoying and frustrating, but it makes it impossible to work and it is damaging my ability to be professional.

Adobe Color Themes panel becomes blank and unresponsive
The panel works as intended for a while, but after working for a while (20 min or so) -The Adobe Color Theme Panel becomes blank after trying to switch between "create" & "explore".
Closing and restarting Illustrator 2018 fixes this, but that become s big pain to have to keep closing and re-opening all your files just to use the color theme tools.
I'm not sure if it is caused by the webseach that happens with the "..." elipses dots, but sometimes it seems that it just doesn't find the color website and that is why it doesn't show anything. And once the panel is blanked out, there aren't any options to re connect with the color server. Closing the panel and reopening it doesn't fix this, and as mentioned before - only a quit, and reopening of illustrator does.
Thanks for any thoughts!
Working in Illustrator 2018 on a Win10 machine with a 4k monitor - often it seems the pc with the 4k monitor is what causes the most issues with the adobe software.

Files don’t get displayed when opened or displayed corrupted with Application Frame enabled
These are not 'ideas' they are bugs, errors, problems - stop with the Orwellian language, just makes you look insincere and untruthful.
The problem:
When Application Frame is selected, files either do not display when opened or have a corrupted display. Doesn't happen every time, but quite often.

Intermittently, Illustrator does NOT save the file.
Intermittently, when I save a file (using Ctrl-S or File > Save), the existing file is NOT saved. This has caused me to lose work.
The Illustrator UI thinks that the file has been saved - the File > Save option is greyed out. When I look in the file's location on disk, the existing file shows an older file date and time; the last time it saved successfully. There is a new file with the expected date and time and the extension "t".
I can do a "Save As" which works. I can make some trivial changes the the file, Save, and that usually does save the file correctly. But the failure to save normally still occurs about 25% of the time. It's been happening since I installed Illustrator.
I am working with .SVG files in Illustrator 22.1 on Windows 10.

Actions don’t record renaming of groups, don’t remember the choice in Expand dialog
I'm recording Actions to in Illustrator CC 2018 ( 22.1) and I've found a few things lacking:
1) When I group objects, and name the group, while recording an action the name does not get recorded.
The group just bears the name "group".2) If you choose "Expand" while recording an action and choose from the available options (Fill, Stroke, etc.), you are asked to make that choice again when the action runs — not much of an Action!
Aside from the above I find the lack of Conditional Action, as per Photoshop, feature disappointing: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33770071
Are there any fixes for the above flaws or is my version of Illustrator not behaving as expected?
I just don't know.

Adobe Fonts dont sync properly with Typekits fonts purchased.
My synced fonts don't show up in Illustrator. These are fonts that have been syncs for months. Restarting Illustrator does nothing. Unsyncing and resyncing fonts on Typekit does nothing

blending application inconsistent in groups and appearance
To reproduce the problem, in RGB document, set up a rectangle with fill and outline, on top of some colored background shape.
Using Appearance panel modify blending and opacity of fill and stroke to use anything other than normal blending. Then change the whole object's opacity, so it has "isolate blending" checkbox checked. Now try selecting any option for blending mode, other than Normal.
All blending modes are ignored and cause no change in appearance.
Now, select one of the blending modes anyways.
Then expand the appearance of the object. Illustrator will create a group with path elements in the group that have the same blending modes and opacity settings as were set up in the appearance panel.
The group itself will inherit the settings too, but now the selected blending mode does take effect, and the result after the expansion is significantly different than before. It appears that before the path is expanded the top level blending setting is not having any effect if the "Isolate Blending" checkbox is checked.
The result before expansion should be the same as after.
Also, when a document with such appearance setup is saved as PDF, it looks different. It appears that PDF does use the blending mode specified.

Most of the fonts cannot show and load in the list of AI CS6
Most of the fonts cannot show and load in the list of AI CS6 suddenly today. The down arrow button (red circle in the attached picture) of the font list is not working (no response), but I can still choose other fonts by clicking up/down keyboard arrow to choose around 10 fonts (my computer installs over than hundreds fonts!).
Also, all fonts are still working in Photoshop and MS Office. Can anyone help on this? Thanks!4 votes -
Illustrator 21.1 slows down
After using Illustrator 21.1 for a period of time - usually over 20 minutes - the software becomes increasingly slow, laggy, unresponsive. Quitting and restarting Illustrator fixes this, but it then happens again. And again.
I have tried using fresh preferences: it makes no difference.
