  2. illustrator exporting bug.

When i export in the latest version, the file name reverts back to an older file name and tries to save it in the previous location. I need it to export as the same name as the ai file and in the same location as the current ai file. I've never had this issue in any older versions of illustrator.

  3. Save a copy giving wrong file names - Illustrator 24.2

Since the last update I noticed that AI is keeping in memory the last file name given in save a copy.
i.e. My document is called thing.ai. I save a copy "thing copy.ai" then when I save a copy again from the master document still open it will save as "thing copy copy.ai". Even if I give a custom name to the copy as "thing outlined.ai", the next save a copy will be "thing outlined copy.ai".

Please note that I never changed the name of the master document.

  4. An unknown error occurred when saving AI file

Since updating to 24.2 on our Macs people are intermittently getting "An unknown error occurred" when trying to save an AI file. We have found in those cases outlining all the fonts will let us save. We are using the latest version of Universal Type Client for our font management.

  5. Default save location for "SAVE FOR WEB" in Illustrator 2020 (24.2)

    Hello,
In version 24.2 of Illustrator the behavior of the SAVE FOR WEB (LEGACY) function has change. In version 24.1 and older, the default saving location vas the last saved location used, in version 24.2 it is the location where the Illustrator (.ai) file is located which is by default. I was wondering if this is a bug or voluntary choice because it affects my work flow considerably even if it may seem like a small detail. I understand the value of saving by default where the Illustrator (.ai) file is located, but I would like to choose the method…

  6. Exporting to PNG with smaller dimensions than artboard creates blurry edges

If you have an artboard, let say sized at 160x160px, and export down to 1/10th the size (e.g., 16x16px) the export will be blurred on both the Y and X-axis in Illustrator version 24.

I have attempted to uninstall Adobe (both with and without my preferences), I have attempted to change the the PPI/DPI settings as well. Nothing seemed to fix this.

The only workaround I can find currently is to reinstall version 23, which will soon be removed from the creative cloud.

  7. Asset Export not respecting Clipping Mask on image

When dragging an image with a clipping mask into Asset Export it will add a white border and export at the original image size, not the clipped size

  8. Illustrator could only partially read this file

When I load the first attached file in 24.0.1 (with Windows 10) it loads OK and I can edit it. When I save it and try to reload it in 24.0.1 it says Illustrator could only partially read this file. That's awful when Illustrator cannot read a file it has just saved.

The layers (and sublayers) under ALL > WATERWAYS > A-B beginning with A have all gone missing when it reads in what it can. Other parts may be missing too.

It works fine in 23.1. and I have had to revert to using that.

    I have lost a…

  9. The Hint not applied when export to JPG with antialias set to Hint in "Export for screen"

When exporting a JPG using "Export for screen", the hint information applied in the anti-aliasing setting is not applied and the expected output cannot be obtained.

    environment / OSX10.13.6/Illustrator ver.24.0.0

    Step to reproduce.
    1. Files -> Export -> Export for screen
    2. Set the Format as "JPG 100" and click the Preferences icon.
    3. Choose "JPG100" and set the Antialias as "Hint".
    4. Click apply and export.

Result : The Hint no applied.

We need to get correct images like Illustrator ver.23.

    Workaround
Use another functionality such as "Save for Web" or use Illustrator ver.23.

  10. bugs with saving feature on ai 2020

When I first open the program and try to save a file in ai 2020, I get an error message. I can then save it as a pdf and after that, it will allow me to save as a native ai file.

Also, when trying to save a file as an outlined pdf, it will say the ai file is in process of being saved.

Please fix these bugs in the next update. Thank you.

  11. Anti-aliasing not working well with rasterized images in "Export for Screen - JPG 100"

    Illustrator 24.0 - Windows 10

    1. Create a new document

    2. Import a JPG image inside the artboard

    3. Rotate the imported element -25º

    4. Go to File > Export for Screens

    5. Select the scale 1x and the format JPG 100. Also, verify in the settings that JPG100 has the Anti-Aliasing "Art-Optimized (supersampling)" checked.

    6. Export the file.

    7. Go again to the artboard and press File > Save for web

    8. Select format JPG with good quality (at least 80%), and "Art-Optimized".

    9. Click "save"

    10. Open both images and compare them, the one exported with "Export for Screen" looks jaggy and with low quality, but the one…

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.2 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Illustrator 2019 is not saving my work properly. I save the file, then close and reopen it to find only half the work was actually saved.

  16. Illustrator CC 23.0.2 not opening a SVG file

When I try to open a svg file, a dialog box asks me to "Select a File Format to open file:" The options are Pixar, PCX, BMP, PNG and Targa. Not only do I not need any of these options, but if I click any of them and press OK, I get an error that reads, "Could not read the file because the plug-in could not understand this file."

  17. "An Unknown Error Has Caused the Operation to Fail" Message When Trying to export TIFF.

    iMac running OS X 10.14.2
    Illustrator CC 2019

Whenever I try to export an artboard as a TIFF using "Export As", I get the ubiquitous, yet EXTREMELY vague error message, "An Unknown Error Has Caused the Operation to Fail" a couple of seconds after Illustrator starts to process the image (progress bars gets about 25% of the way).

Now, the weird part is that I have no problem exporting the same artboard as a PNG or JPG using the same "Export As' option.

And before you ask, yes I uninstalled and then reinstalled Illustrator but it's still having the same…

  19. SVG Export Distortion

I am having 0 success with Adobe Illustrator exports that incorporate filters. Some are stock images from Adobe stock that have polygonal patters. Others are 3D text rendered objects. Others are layers built with a variety of transparency filters and opacity settings. The SVG exports are not usable and we are resorting to .png files until we solve this. I saw a similar post that was unresolved: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/33118615-sizes-and-coordinates-get-distorted-in-svg-export
I am using export settings with Styling: Presentation; Images: Preserve; Object ID: Minimal; 2 Decimals; Minify and Responsive checked. Other modifications to these settings has not worked.
    Additionally, many of the Adobe…

  20. Export as SVG: linked image gets deleted

    Hi All,
I have an issue when exporting to SVG.
I created an AI file with a linked jpg image as a background, and some text on top.
When I export to SVG, the original jpg image gets deleted (I mean the original file, it disappears from Finder, it's not even in the recycle bin) and then Illustrator gives me the message "Some files are missing or modified in the links panel. Would you like to update them now?".
So, the first time I export, the SVG is saved correctly but I lose the original image file, if I try…
