3. Cannot place an AI or EPS file in a new document without it looking messed up (AI 25.0)

   I've tried placing AI and EPS logo designs into a new document and the logos are distorted. (Opening original looks fine). Weird scaling of individual parts and unexpected curves. It's a mess. Have to copy paste from original, cannot use place at all.

4. Changing color on gradient object freezes illustrator

   I noticed a similar issue someone was having in 2019, but it doesn't seem precisely the same. I am running Illustrator 24.3 on Windows 10. I recently pulled up an Illustrator file from last year to pull items for a new, related project. One of the vectors is a gradient - I'm trying to change it to solid fill. The only way I can do this right now is to change it to whatever solid is my default in my Tools panel, then change it to the actual color I want in my color palette. The Color palette automatically selects one of the colors in the gradient with no way to deselect. Clicking a color in the Color palette from there creates a new gradient point buried or invisible beneath another one. If I try to switch the entire object to solid fill after accidentally editing this gradient point color, Illustrator freezes and shuts down.

6. SVG files not properly being displayed in Adobe Illustrator

   SVG files are not opening properly in Adobe Illustrator. I can open them in browsers or in Inkscape with no issue. When I open them up in Adobe Illustrator, they are rendered and displayed incorrectly.

7. new project presets not appearing

   I am starting a course to learn Adobe Illustrator. However, when I click on "create new" the dialogue box that opens only populates with Adobe Stock templates. No matter if I click print, web, or mobile there are no presets or options for me to change the project settings. Kind of hard to begin the course if I can't create a project with the specific setting for my assignments.

8. BUG: Envelope Distort (with Anti Alias option on) changes colour values of embedded images.

   When trying to use Envelope Distort (eg Mesh) and the 'Anti Alias' option to maintain clarity, if the artwork features embedded images (eg a multichannel PSD that must be embedded for Envelope Distort action) it is clearly seen the results with and with AA active are different. Only without use of AA will the colour values remain faithful to the original pre-distorted image.

   Whilst I would expect some changes along edges, etc. that would benefit the most from using AA, it is seen across the entire image. This is not correct and renders the Envelope Distort function unusable for these cases.

9. Unsauber

   Vektoren lassen sich in Illustrator 2021 nicht mehr sauber und geschmeidig ziehen, Formen lassen sich nicht passgenau verschieben.
   Sie "hopsen" mit Absätzen und können nicht mehr (wie früher in den alten Versionen) sauber und geschmeidig platziert/gezeichnet werden. Ich würde gern wieder sauber und geschmeidig mit Vektoren arbeiten. Was ist da faul?

   Most probably this happens because View > Snap to Grid is enabled

10. New Document Textbox doesnt' auto replace

    When I open a new document and try to title it, the text that is automatically in the text box"Untitled-1" does not auto-replace when you start typing. I have to manually delete the untitleds. Can you please fix that and make it auto replace when we start typing the title?

    If you still have this problem, you’d have to share a test file and record the bugged behavior on a video. Please also comment back if it works properly for you now.

12. text automatically changed to unreadable when using some cloud fonts

    Since version 2020, some time text automatically changed to unreadable when using some cloud fonts (as I only found this issue with cloud font for now)
    Need to restart program and the problem gone for a while, then came back!

    I use latest Mac OS and latest Adobe creative cloud version.

14. PDF Export/Save .joboptions not appearing; cannot use PDF/X-4:2010 Standard joboptions

    Adobe PDF Export presets (.joboptions) that work in ID, PS do not appear as options in Save As > PDF in AI.

    Edit > Adobe PDF Presets... show they are installed. Attempting to Install them manually returns an error: "The preset '[XX.joboptions]' is not recognized as a valid .joboptions file." They cannot be Edited nor Exported from this dialog. (Even though they can be Edited and reimported in other apps.)

    Affected presets use PDF/X-4:2010 Standard.

    Illustrator requires PDF Export presets specifying Standard PDF/X-4:2007 or lower/None.

    Creating new presets within Illustrator and selecting "Standard: PDF/X-4:2010" in the dialog actually creates .joboptions files specifying compliance with PDF/X-4:2007.

    This can be verified by opening the .joboptions files in a text editor. (I used BBEdit.)

    Simply opening a non-working preset (works in ID & PS, but not available in AI) as text and changing the line:

    /CheckCompliance [
    /PDFX4:2010

    ... to PDFX4:2007 renders the preset functional again.

    This has been tested on Illustrator versions CC 2017, 2019, and 2020 on multiple machines; Mac OS Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave.

    Steps to recreate:

    Create a PDF preset within ID (any version after CC 2015) that specifies Standard: PDF/X-4:2010.

    Verify this same preset is valid and functional in ID & PS.

    Open any file in AI (versions 2015-2020). File > Save As with option Format: Adobe PDF. In the Save as Adobe PDF options dialog, under "Adobe PDF Presets:" the custom .joboptions file is not present in the list.

    Under Edit > Adobe PDF Presets... in the list of installed presets, the custom .joboptions file is listed. Selecting it, both Export and Edit are grayed out.

    Selecting "Import" and selecting the same .joboptions file returns an error: "...not a valid .joboptions file."

    Create a New PDF preset within Illustrator. Specify "Standard: PDF/X-4:2010." (2010 is the only X-4 option.)

    Verify Edit and Export options are not grayed out and function.

    Verify preset works in ID & PS.

    Open both presets (Mac OS: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings/) with a text editor.

    Find the lines beginning with: "/CheckCompliance" and the immediate line after:

    Files created in ID will read:

    /CheckCompliance [
    /PDFX4:2010

    Files created in AI will read:

    /CheckCompliance [
    /PDFX4:2007

    In AI (Edit > Adobe PDF Presets) and ID (File > Adobe PDF Presets > Define...) both report "Standards Compliance: PDF/X-4 2010"

    In text editor, for preset created in ID, manually change:

    /CheckCompliance [
    /PDFX4:2010

    to "/PDFX4:2007" — Save preset.

    Verify PDF preset that was previously unavailable in AI, File > Save As, Format: Adobe PDF is now present and functional.

    Under Edit > Adobe PDF Presets... preset now has Export and Edit buttons enabled. (Preset still reports "Standards Compliance: PDF/X-4 2010")

    Resolution: Either create all PDF/X-4 standards-compliant PDF export presets within Illustrator for the rest of the CC suite; or manually edit all .joboptions files created for PDF/X-4 standards-compliance from "2010" to "2007."

    This may present an issue where strict adherence to the 2010 version of the standard is critical and required. Although PDF's are exported with "2010" selected, they are actually only compliant with 2007, the only version AI understands.

    Adobe PDF Export presets (.joboptions) that work in ID, PS do not appear as options in Save As > PDF in AI.

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.2 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

15. Window not showing

    From the Finder (MacOS X 10.15.4), I open a n illustrator Document. The app comes forward and I see a black screen. The "Window" menu tells me that the document is open BUT where? I don't see it (nope, I don't have a second monitor). Close the invisible window and the Window menu shows nothing open. Try again, from the finder and again, no windows look opened. Try from Illustrator, File/Open: same thing, another fail. Quit app, relaunch app by launching doc from the Finder. now the file opens as it should. Close file, try again. Back to the black screen. This started happening after this morning's (04/21/2020) update.

16. "New..." Window won't pop up after recent update

17. Simplify Path flags points incorrectly as smooth

    When using Simplify... on a path with several corner points, the resulting simplified path will have several of its corner points flagged as "smooth". As soon as you try to move one of the tangents of the incorrectly flagged corner point, the opposite tangent will snap into a colinear position.

19. Some text is missing and creating a text box will cause lag and not work

    Windows 10 Enterprise, Illustrator 2021 v 25.0
    I open an existing file authored in older versions of Illustrator. My annotations (circles with number text boxes) have no text boxes, and my text is missing in other places. But most text remains.
    I can open a new file in v 25.0 and click text tool to add text. I can't type anything. I can try to click and drag to create a text box and it lags for minutes and does not allow me to type anything. If I try it lags again.

20. Color Theme Window isn't Expanding

    I have Windows 10 and Illustrator 2020 and 2021 installed on my desktop. When I click on Color Themes I get a narrow window that doesn't open up all the way and there is no way of trying to expand it on the sides. I can expand it horizontally, but not vertically. How can I fix this problem
