1. Raster images should always honor the layer order and transparency values when scaling/moving/rotating

   When moving/rotating/scaling Raster images should always honor the layer order and transparency values.

   With "show images in outline mode" selected, I often drop in low res raster images on the bottom layer and outline them with the pen tool in higher level layers.. problem is the way illustrator handles raster images. If i draw a line on top of a raster image, then attempt to scale that raster image, my line is temporarily hidden while scaling, moving or rotating the raster image, making it nearly impossible to re-align my raster image to match newly drawn vector lines. Also, raster images with transparency are temporarily opaque when moving/scaling/rotating. so any foreground lines i may want to use for a scale reference are invisible when using the move/rotate/scale operations.

2. Modifier tool is lost when scaling with "~" key held down

   Fills can be modified without changing geometry if the "~" key is pressed during the operation.

   Previous versions (at up to AI CC 2015) allowed the scaling process to be repeated indefinitely until another tool was chosen. In AI CC 2019 the "Scale" tool switches to the Pen tool every time the Mouse is released. This is a huge pain and should be fixed!! Keep the modifier tool active until another tool is selected please.

3. TIFF images as assets in CC Libraries are always placed as PNG images on the artboard

   1. Affected: Illustrator CC all versions that are working with CC Libraries.
      Tested with Illustrator CC 2019 version 23.0.3 on Windows 10. Illustrator versions on Mac OS X are also reported.

   2. Steps to reproduce the issue:
      Do a new CC Library.
      Add TIFF images saved from PhotoShop CC 2019 to the new library.
      Two options how you can do this that I know of:
      A. Drag the files from your file system to the open and empty library.
      B. Use Adobe Bridge CC 2019 to drag files to the open library.

   3. Expected result:
      If I want to use an image TIFF asset in my layout and place it on the artboard from a CC Library the placed image should show up as TIFF image with all the right properties, like the right color space, original resolution etc.pp.

   4. Actual result:
      The placed TIFF is converted to PNG, color space is always RGB, regradless of the original. Always indicating transparency. Even if the original file stored in the CC Library has no transparency at all.

4. Please Make Adobe App shortcuts compatible with Security/Adware/Antivirus software

   I suddenly was seeing the "Space Bar Won't enable Hand Tool" problem that's been a plague for years. A few weeks ago, I installed AdGuard for Safari and Mac. I've been happy with it's ad blocking - but this was the culprit for the problem of the Space Bar not invoking the Hand Too, AND for Command+Space not invoking zoom. I've turned off the helpful ad blocker, and I can use my Adobe Apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign were all affected).
   After all these years, PLEASE fix these apps so that our computers can remain usable and safe while still having access to these important tools!

6. "Show Hidden Characters" is disabled every time "Export for Screens" is used

   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Open / create a document with any text
   2. On the application menu enable Type -> Show Hidden Characters
   3. Next do File -> Export -> Export for Screens
   4. Export a file or cancel out, both trigger the issue
   5. Notice the Hidden Characters are no longer visible
   6. Confirm on the application menu that the feature is disabled

   Happens on Illustrator 24.0.1 (64 bits), on Windows 10.

7. First click is lost when focusing the window

   Windows, when Illustrator isn't focused, clicking inside the window, the click is lost, another click is needed to perform the intended action. Annoying, because the second click is treated as double click.

   To reproduce:
   Open Illustrator and move the window to the left. Open another program, for example a text editor. Clicking in the illustrator window over a text (with the intent of copying the text causes just focusing the window, the text itself isn't selected. Only the second click selects the text.

9. Trim view is not available to record in the Actions

   Trim view is not available to record in the Actions window. Solving this would hugely benefit my workflow, by making trim view a recorded action and giving it a shortcut.

10. Variable Font not working properly

    Hello, I am a type designer and am working on a variable script font. The variable font file work fine everywhere else except in Adobe products.

    It appears the sidebearings aren't adjusting with the changes in width. Very odd. You can see whats happening in the first file. The second is on the Axis Praxis website.

    I've spoken with Glyphs App developers and they said it's a glitch with Illustrator, so I wanted to bring it to your attention.

    I have had repeated issues with the libraries within Adobe CC connect. With signing out/signing in, closing and reopening the applications not working.

12. Misaligned patterns on SVG import

    When opening an SVG file, pattern fills are incorrectly offset on both x and y axis.

    An inconvenient workaround is to reapply the pattern (Select shape, select pattern swatch). This will then position the pattern correctly.

    It would be great if the pattern was correctly positioned on file load.

    Tested on Windows 10. Illustrator 23.0.6 64bit

    Conditions for failure
    1. Illustrator Preferences / General [Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open] Put a check.
    2. Show Links Panel. Links Panel Options [Thumbnail Size] Select other than None.
    3. The Place image format is EPS.
    4. Open a file with the Home Screen displayed.

14. Buggy strokes, unwanted anti-aliasing and wrong sizes on export.

    I have just completed a project where 1800 tool icons had to be redesigned for a CAD program. Exporting my icons to single and @2x PNGs butchers my icons.

    • If strokes are set to outside, export to PNG invariably produces unwanted anti-aliasing on vertically or horizontally stacked pixels. (see image 1.png). I have a hunch this only occurs with documents that have over 100 artboards. It cannot be easily reproduced with a document containing only a single artboard. (if someone from tech support wants the document, let me know. I cannot share it publicly.)

    • When the arrow up cursor is used with a modifier key (cmd) in a number field of the transform palette, it should never increase both values if they are not locked to each other. This used to work but has been broken for at least two years now. (See ArrowUp.gif)

    • Artboards move around. I am not sure this is not me. However when I export my icons, I often have artboards on top of other artboards or some artboards have even moved hundreds of pixels away. This may be due to the way that artboards are selected though. Using shift to select several artboards does not quite work like selecting objects. There is always one artboard selected and every time the user wants to select multiple artboards via the marquee selection, one artboard somewhere in the drawing is already selected and must first be deselected by clicking into empty space. This feels non-standard.

15. Text box can no longer be colored

18. CC Libraries import yields progress indicator for thumbnail

    With the most recent release of Illustrator (23.1.1) on a Mac running Catalina 10.15 Beta, any time I drag an item into the Libraries panel, a thumbnail fails to appear (instead I get a persistent animated progress indicator). I'm able to see the correct thumbnail of the imported item in other Adobe apps (Photoshop and InDesign), as well as online (Libraries --> View on Website). Only after I restart Illustrator do they appear.
