Pen tool can't close paths in draw behind mode in certain scenarios
I'm drawing with the pen tool in draw behind mode. However, every time I start a path on where an anchor is of another path above it is located, I won't be able to close the path by clicking the starting anchor point. It will instead just create another anchor point in that exact same spot and continue the path.

Select and Unlock objects on canvas option breaks Direct Selection
With 'Select and Unlock objects on canvas' enabled (and at least one object locked) Direct selection no longer can move points (and select them with single clicks).

2025 Paragraph styles broken opening files created in previous versions
Opening up previously formated files (2024) with Character/paragrah styles applied is useless in 2025!

Exporting PDFs makes a single file instead of many for each artboard
I am experiencing an issue exporting PDFS under export for screens. I have 2 artboards which I have named, but when I export it only exports 1 artwork and names the PDF the actual file name instead of the artboard name. Other file types, png, jpg, etc seem to be working but not PDFs.

Layer import BUG from .ai file (v29.8.1) to InDesign
When I import a multipage .ai file created with version 29.8.1 of Adobe Illustrator into InDesign, the layers that I can view or hide are multiplied for each page of the .ai document.
Windows 11 Pro.

Documents preview not updated properly in Indesign
When I save an Illustrator file, import it into Indesign, then make changes to the file, save it again and update the link in Indesign, some parts are not updated in the preview (see attached image). This doesn't happen every time, seemingly at random.
I have resolved this by first saving as an older version and then again as latest version, but that's not a real solution.
Somebody told me to uncheck 'Save in background' in settings, this also solved the problem but again, is not a real solution.I have this problem simultaneously with the (already known) problem where…

Can’t drag an element to a different layer
All of a sudden i cant move an element from one layer to a different one. Only if i manually open the whole layer and drag exact element to a different one.
Saving - quitting - opening again - does not help

Drop Shadows and Outer Glows not working right
Upgraded to v30 (64 bit) Drop shadows do not generate or display properly- they are either missing or show sharp edges even with a high fade. Both Drop Shadows and Outer Glow effects take a very long time to render and often lock up the program or Windows (Win11) completely so a reboot is needed. This is happening on relatively simple objects of a small size, I use these effects a lot and never had a problem with it like this before, even with large complex objects. "Legacy text" warning when opening a file with Illustrator 2026, created in Illustrator 2026

- Created large posters in Illustrator 30.1 including Japanese type. Was later asked to make A4 size versions of them. Reduced entire contents of individual A1 posters so they would fit on A4 pages, copied, pasted to a new multi-artboard file. Saved and closed. Opened the file next day, again using Illustrator 30.1, and was greeted with "This file contains text created in an older version of Illustrator. The issue of selecting tools to move lines
In Illustrator, when I select a line and try to move it, the selection is always lost, forcing me to repeatedly select and move it again. This makes the task difficult for me.

Disabling "Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" corrupts custom workspace
When "Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" in General Preferences is disabled, the next time Illustrator is run, my custom workspace is corrupted, for lack of a better word. The toolbar and all panels are missing, and the Control Panel has become floating.

Using Pen tool does auto switch to add or remove points when cursor is hoving over lines or anchors.
I'm not sure if this is a new feature or not, but when using the regular pen tool, it usually displays the + or - symbol when it's over anchor points or on lines to indicate whether to add or remove. It doesn't do this now, and I have to manually switch between the 'Remove Point' or 'Add Point' version on the toolbar.

Saving a PDF with All Printer’s Marks only works twice
Hello,
I'm using version 30.0 on a PC.I need to save my files for printing as PDFs with crop marks. When I check the "All Printer’s Marks" option and save as a PDF, it works the first time, but the second time, and always on the third, I get an error message. This error message says, "This document was saved successfully, but an error occurred after saving. Close and then reopen the document."
I then have to close Illustrator and reopen everything, giving me two opportunities to save new PDF documents with print marks. Then, on the third document,…2 votes -
Gradient panel is stuck
When I open the colors, it works fine, but if I click on the gradient, the panel moves to the top of the screen, where I am unable to move it or even change it back to a solid color.

All options within Window > Type are greyed out when 'Enable Wacom' option is enabled
Running Illustrator 2026 (version 30.0) on a M4 Pro Mac Mini. Access to all Type options are greyed out (accessed via Window > Type). I noticed that, in the preferences, under Devices, there was an 'Enable Wacom' option, which was checked. (I don't have a Wacom tablet, though I do have an XP-Pen drawing display, though it was not plugged in, and all drivers and extensions were disabled, and I've only used it with Illustrator 2025.) However, I unchecked the option, restarted Illustrator, and all text options were available again.
