2. Object size (width/height) swapped in control bar.

   See attached screenshot. Control bar shows the width and height of the object/rectangle incorrectly. 'Transform' box shows correct info, but control bar swaps the 2 dimensions.

   Shape’s width and height differ from path's width and height, as explained in comments.

   To deal with the second half of the problem, vote for this request to make Offset Path to respect the original position and the direction of a path.

3. Embedded Images Appear Desaturated or Greyed Out in Adobe Illustrator

   I'm experiencing an issue with Adobe Illustrator. Every time I try to embed an image, the image turns greyed out or desaturated. However, if I use the Crop Image function instead, the image appears correctly with the proper colors.

   I've tried this with different image files and it consistently happens when embedding, but not when cropping. I'm using Adobe illustrator 29.5.1 (64-bit), Windows 11, 24H2, 26100.4061

4. 29.5.2 MacOS 15.5 M3 Performance degrades over time, after extended use.

   Working with the any file, the performance degrades over time. 30min-1 hour it becomes noticeable. CPU slowly move up as time progresses from 10% to 100%. File becomes so slow that it takes 2-3 second for typed text to appear. A restart of AI fixes it.
   Files are not point-heavy nor do they have complicated effects.

5. Ai. files have no transparency

   I work with the latest illustrator (29.5. 1) and InDesign (20.3. 1). Since the last updates an .ai imported in InDesign is no longer transparent. If I save it as .eps in Ai, then yes. Please solve otherwise I would have to convert all my previously made .ai files.

6. [ExtendScript] Cannot set some TextRange.characterAttributes after TextFrame.resize.

   We cannot successfully set some TextFrame.textRange.characterAttributes after the TextFrame has been resized using TextFrame.resize.

   (Tested on MacOS 15.4.1 Adobe Illustrator 29.5.1)

   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Create new document
   2. Run the below script

   Expected Result: all tests passed and no alert message appears.

   Actual result: Failed to set characterAttributes.size to 12.

   Script:

   We cannot successfully set textFrame.textRange.justification to the value in the applied ParagraphStyle.

   For example, if the text has [Normal Paragraph Style] applied, which for me has Justification.LEFT, then I cannot set that text to have Justification.LEFT in cases where the justification has been changed.

   (Tested on MacOS 15.4.1 Adobe Illustrator 29.5.1, but this appears to be an old bug.)

   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Create new document
   2. Run the below script

   Expected Result: all tests passed and no alert message appears.

8. Warning message for over 15 years "This file has been modified outside of Illustrator"

   There needs to be a way to disable this warning message. I have only seen this error in Illustrator, and it has been around for over 15 years with no solid solution. It appears to be related to file timestamps, but when a user is working on a file, saved on a file server, and they are the ONLY one who has access to the file, this error should NEVER appear. This error appears for Windows or Mac users, saving files on either a network or cloud storage location. So far, Adobe's solution is "just save the file locally". This is not a solution. There are many reasons files are not stored locally.
   It would be best to have the option to disable this file check Adobe is doing. It does not help anyone.

9. Contextual Task Bar and Help Bar don’t have hotkeys and these can’t be assigned

   When I check Keyboard Shortcuts, Menu Commands, Window, I can find Control, Properties... but not Contextual Task Bar or Help Bar. So we can’t assign hotkeys for these and call these from keyboard when needed.
   Seems like someone forgot to include these slots for customization. Please expose these.

10. Gray popup about Unpropping appears again and again

    A grey popup appears constantly whenever I am ungrouping things to tell me about ungrouping.
    Nothing in Preferences makes this go away and I see it repeatedly so closing it once doesn't work either. I really don't need training wheels and this should be one simple option to disable all large tooltips, blue popups and gray popups. There are already enough idiosyncrasies and distractions with Illustrator.

12. Constant random crashing of application (version 29.5.1) with no obvious operation as the cause (on MacOS 15.5)

    I am experiencing random crashes in any file with the latest version of Illustrator (29.5.1) on the latest version of MacOS (15.5). | have also been having similar (although not as often) crashes in InDesign (again, latest version 20.3.1). Meanwhile, I see stories that you are about to increase the subscription prices for access to generative Al tools, while the stability of your software--the basic usability is in question. Not acceptable.

13. Paste in Front shortcut got reassigned to Contextual Task Bar

    For some reason this very important shortcut is now assigned to the Contextual Task Bar.
    Please repair that. Cmd-F goes decennia back, and is very important for experience Illustrator-users.

14. Double Click on Fill results in Black

    Double clicking on the Fill (bottom of tools palette), when the current fill is a gradient results in the fill turning black, in stead of opening the Gradient Editor, which might be helpful and intuitively right.

    Please make this happen:
    Double click on the Fill at the bottom of the tools palette should open the color editor that is most likely:
    -RGB color should open RGB editor, CMYK should open CMYK editor, Gradient should open Gradient Editor, etc.

15. Can't constrain Curvature tool with Shift while moving points

    When using Curvature tool while drawing a line you can use the Shift key to constrain the new point to certain dimensions like you would with pen tool, but if you go back and try to move a point later, the shift key seems to have no effect on movement.

16. Curvature tool does some funkiness when clicking on a point of a different object

    Curvature behaves weird when you click on another object (related to https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/44830828--corner-anchor-points-become-smooth-when-joining).
    But I'm not trying to join the objects, just click on it. It works fine if you click on the path of the second object, but if you click where an anchor point is it joins the two objects together at the point you click and the first anchor point of what you clicked off of. It also deletes all corner points of the object you clicked on.

17. Properties is Missing the Pathfinder Options

    I use the Properties panel to make quick access to the Pathfinder options. I just fired up Illustrator ver 29.5.1 (64-bit) on my Surface Pro 3 (it's still chugging along!), and the there was a section missing. It usually appears right under Align, but it's not to be found. I tried increasing the size of the panel's tab, but there was nothing hidden below. I do clearly see a button to use Gen-Slop (no, thank you), but no Pathfinder.

    While I can still access the Pathfinder panel itself without issue, I preferred to keep my work space as uncluttered as possible. Anyone know where the options went, or if I unchecked an option somewhere?

    Pathfinder section in Properties appears only when more than one object is fully selected. If you need to see Pathfinder in all cases, including having only one point selected, like in this case, — use the dedicated Pathfinder panel instead.

    Illustrator doesn’t offer a way to customize Properties or lock specific sections. If this is something you need — please upvote this request.

18. Offset path gets applied as a single shape

    I am having an issue where when I offset a path, it adds the path as a single shape. In the past, I could ungroup the new shape and go from there. Now, I am unable to separate the new offset path from the original shape. My next step is to use the minus front feature around another shape. Please help, as I have tried everything from forums to ChatGPT and nothing is working.

19. Snap to Point doesn’t help much to snap an object’s edge to another edge, even with Smart Guides

    'Snap to point' in Illustrator is poor. You cannot currently snap objects together reliably. Results are inconsistent.
    For example:
    1) snapping a point to an edge does not work well, if at all. I have 'snap to point' on and smart guides enabled.
    2) when using constrain with the Shift key, whether they be points or edges. Even with Snap to Point turned on, or using Smart Guides. Just something simple as drag-copying another box adjacent to itself does not snap together the edges.

    In my videos, the first video applies to point 1) and the second video at 10s, you can see that when using 'constrain' there is no information about where the edges are, and snapping of the edges clearly does not work. Not even dragging a corner, which is a point, to the other objects' edge, no snapping or any edge indication.

    Adobe please do not consider this. Please just fix it and make this work, please!

20. Illustrator wrongly says texts were created in different version of Illustrator

    After the update, this message now appears, saying that my files were created in a different version. But it should be backwards compatible.
