Illustrator CC won't embed color profile correctly
Windows 10 64-Bit
Illustrator 22.0.1Whenever I am saving an Illustrator .ai file with the checkbox for embed color profile checked, the resulting file does not have a color profile embedded correctly. When I reopen that file in Illustrator it seems to have the correct profile embedded but in Bridge or InDesign the file appears to have no color profile attached. If I export the same file as .psd file Illustrator embeds the color profile correctly.
My colormanagment is synched via Bridge.6 votesRequest to Contact Support ·AdminRama (Mgr, Software Quality Engineering, Adobe Illustrator) responded

Spot Colors in Linked or Embedded Images can be Renamed in Swatches Palette, breaking functionality
Double clicking a spot swatch in the Swatches Palette allows you to rename the swatch. In past versions, Illustrator would not allow you to rename the spot swatch if it was used in a linked or embedded image. Now the spot swatch can be renamed whether or not it is used in an image. There is no warning that the spot being renamed is in use. After renaming the spot swatch, the Swatches Palette does not show the spot actually used in the image. Changing the color values of the spot swatch before renaming changes the appearance of the image,…

Spot colour on non-print layer will appear in separations as CMYK
Setup a spot colour
Apply it to any object
Set your layer to no printing
Check the separations
It shows the spot colour as CMYK.
Until you set the layer to Print again.

The colors in the closed file are persistently and almost forcibly trying to enter the palette.
Let's say a spot color was used in a previous work and somehow copied. Later, when the file job is finished and I start another new job even though I have closed it, the copied color in the closed file persistently and almost forcibly tries to enter the palette. I tried to describe it simply in the video.

Eyedropper STILL not wroking on grouped objects in Illustrator 24.2.3
When using the eyedropper on grouped objects, it'll show correctly in the color panel, but it'll only apply the stoke color to the group. Please fix this! The eye dropper has not worked for grouped objects for way too long now.

Freeform gradient fill disappears on select all action
- OS: Windows Version: 10.0 System Architecture: x64 Illustrator v 23.0.6 (64-bit)
- I used a freeform gradient fill to fill a path and upon doing a select all to group a few different paths and shapes for easier movement or duplication, the fill of the path disappears and I need to either rebuilt the gradient or re-load the file as even doing CTRL+Z doesn't bring back the gradient
- The expected result is that the gradient remains as it was when doing a select all (Either through CTRL+A or using the Selection Tool)
- The Fill for the path disappears and the freeform…

Generic Color Palate
I am using the newest version of Illustrator. Within the last week or so, my generic CMYK color palette has changed. The percentages that make up the color are different on nearly every color. My black color swatch used to be 100% black. Now it is C:74.97 M:67.92 Y:67.05 K:90.15. Everything in my document is set to CMYK. I changed nothing. My yellow is C:6.18 Y:96.55. It used to be 100% yellow. All of the colors have this issue. Please let me know how I can get this back to the normal way. I've been using Illustrator for the last…

Patern Maker's Numeric Scaling Is Broken
I'm creating a step and repeat wall using 2 graphics.
In a brick by column pattern, individual graphics can't be scaled using the menu dialog (Object>Transform>Scale).
However, they can be scaled using the tool panel's scale tool (keyboard shortcut s).
Entering precise scaling measurements that are supported in earlier versions of Illustrator would be appreciated!

color on screen looks different if cmyk or spot
this is a problem i found in illustrator, indesign and photoshop cc.
i create a gradient, say from 100% to 0% of cyan (c100 m0 y0 k0). (the color is not important)
than i create another gradient, from 100% to 0% of cyan (c100 m0 y0 k0), but spot color.
than i active 'overprint preview'.
on screen, the 2 color look different, and it's wrong.
we have the same color, the same gradient, so it MUST look the same.5 votes -
CMYK values changes
On opening existing file and embedded profile mismatch, selecting "Convert doument's colors to the working space". will change K=100% to black defined in all CMYK values.
However opening the file keeping embeeded profile and hereafter assign the profile keeps the values intact5 votes -
Opacity bug
AI CC 2018
I turned the opacity down on a selection to see below layers. Then I went to work on below layers. Upon returning to original layer and re-selecting the object to return it to 100% opacity it showed I was already at 100%. I could not get it back to 100% until I copied and pasted the object to a new layer.5 votesHi,
It seems like opacity is applied on the Layer and not on the object inside that layer. It is possible that the user is selecting object inside the layer and not the layer itself. Hence the user is able to see the opacity of object which is 100% in this case and not the changed opacity of layer.

Color guide options reset to default on Illustrator restart
- Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.2486
- Illustrator 27.2
- Open Color Guide Options from Color Guide panel -> customize Steps and/or Variation value -> close and open Illustrator
- Expected: Color Guide panel remembers options Result: options reset to default values (4 steps, 100% variation) so you have to re-enter them every time you start Illustrator
- not file specific, also happens when setting options with no file open - screenshots attached

Arrow keys used in Color panel don’t force canvas to update in version 27.1.1 (2023)
Whenever Arrows or Shift+Arrows key are used to quickly increment the value in a field in th Color panel, without GPU (or with Overprint Preview, which is done with CPU), — the color does not get updated on canvas, while in 26.x version it works just fine.
The CPU canvas now gets updated only when Tab or Enter get pressed. Pressing an arrow key, with or without a modifier, is a finite operation, and should trigger the redraw event too!4 votes -
The name "Black" is automatically blocked when creating global swatches
If you create a new global color swatch, regardless of the breakdown, the name "Black" is automatically blocked. The name "White" is not.
It seems silly to call this issue out, but I've prepared logo libraries for eight and a half years now, and this has been an ongoing consideration. When I create a black swatch, there is always an extra step. Sometimes I intentionally misspell the name to create the swatch, or I create a non-global swatch with the correct name, but in both scenarios I have to adjust the swatch AFTER it is created to produce a black…

Saving to Creative Cloud is Changing My Patterns
This has to do with repeating patterns. I'm using Adobe Illustrator 2021, desktop.
Attached is a picture of 2 circles on a background (shield your eyes, it isn't pretty :-)). When I make the pattern - in this case, the circles were drawn with the blob brush - the inside of the 2 circles is empty and we can all see the background. It's a ring. When I pull that pattern out of swatches, however, it will color in that background. In this one, it's black. It changes depending on the pattern and the colors I'm using. And it is…4 votesI am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.1.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

Freeform gradient doesn't export to svg
When using a freeform gradient in Adobe Illustrator (desktop) it does not export to svg. Instead it takes out the gradient and leaves the fill empty.
