1. Fix Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 Type Library Reference - VB scripts return error

   Illustrator CC 2019 Type Library is broken when attempting to Reference from Visual Studio.

   VB.Net or C# projects attempt to add the reference from: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2019\Plug-ins\Extensions\Scripting Support.aip, and give the attached error.

   My idea, is for Adobe to fix it!

   Older versions work fine.

3. Adobe Illustrator point location does not move when changing Y coordinates value by a hundredth.

   Adobe Illustrator 2020 24.0.1 on Windows 10 x64 Version 10.0.18362

   After giving an object a stroke of 5 and attempting to move a point in the bottom left corner, I discovered that it was not being consistent when being changed in the hundredths. When changing it, it appears to be the same as whatever position it was before. I expected the Y value 483.61 to put the location of the point somewhere in between the coordinates 483.6 and 483.611, but this is not the case.

4. Color Swatches added to a Library disappear at random or don’t get added

   Color swatches have disappeared at random. I try adding new color swatches by a USER defined library, and it's adding only patterns, no colors.

6. AI displays the START SCREEN on opening the file and the document view do not switches (refreshes) the file content.

   v 22.1

   When trying to open an existing file while Illustrator is closed, the software will lag and then hang on the opening screen. The file appears to be opened in the background, but there's no way to access or see it. The opening screen will give options to open additional files or create a new one (as usual) but when trying to do either, nothing will open and no New File Options menu will appear.

   Everything will work normally only if I open Illustrator first and then the file.

   This happens will every file I've tried, so this isn't an issue of corruption.

   What we have found out so far is that this issue can happen in multiple workflows. For clear tracking, validation and closure. We will closing this thread for given below two scenarios which we believe are fixed now:

   1)Double click any Ai file to launch Illustrator
   2)Placing files in Illustrator via Bridge.

   1. On opening a file in Illustrator the START SCREEN do not gets dismissed and the file’s content is not visible.
   2. While working on a file and opening a new one the document view sticks to the old file and do not switches to the new file artwork.

   Please remember to update graphic driver. We are also seeing cases where updating graphic card driver fixes the issue. You can update your driver via https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-gpu-performance-driver-update.html .

7. Some files are gray in MacOS 10.15.1 open/place dialogs

   When accessing the open/place dialog on MacOS 10.15.1, some file names are gray while others are the normal black. They are still selectable, but gray. It looks like you can't select them, though. Disconcerting.

8. Using brush tool either freezes AI or stops displaying on canvas but is updating in layers

   Adobe Illustrator 2020 24.0.0
   My system: Windows 10

   When using the brush tool after a few minutes it either freezes AI or it will stop working on the canvas.
   So I can still use the mouse or tablet to move the cursor but nothing is transpiring on the canvas. However, in the layer section it is updating each stroke.

   It is doing it every time I start a new project.

10. Grouped Objects Resizing Errors & Inconsistency

    Illustrator 23.0.6 - ( issue has existed through many versions / upgrades )

    I thought that I had successfully reported this particular issue in the recent past, but cannot find it in a search, so am re-reporting. My apologizes if I'm doubling up.

    The Process :

    Let's say I have multiple objects of various width and height sizes — e.g. to keep things simple, let's say one object is 4in w x 4in h, and another is 6in w x 4in h.

    I then position/possibly-resize the multiple objects precisely and group them together so that their resulting total group's width and height is either non-fractional, positive integers — e.g. 12in w x 4in h — or systematic, fractional numbers — e.g. 12.25in w x 4.25in h … at times using a separate, deleted-after-use "shim" vector shape at the exact size I want the total group to be, to align (not snap-to) the multiple objects to.

    After checking that the total group is the exact size that I want, I then (with any "shims" removed) upsize or downsize the group incrementally — e.g. say, by 1.5x, 2x, 3x etc.

    The Problem :

    In many instances, this upsizing or downsizing has unexpected/unintended results — e.g. upsizing a group sized 12in w x 4in h by 2x, should yield a result of 24in w x 8in h, but in my experience, may yield something like 24.0001in w x 7.9998in h. Many times the size discrepancies will remain but change slightly, if I attempt to start-over and re-do my steps.

    Despite these types of size discrepancies not being optically discernable, it can be very frustrating, especially in instances where another designer or vendor I am needing to share files with, is planning to be able to precisely scale things up and down.

11. Gradients Crashing Illustrator

    Every time I drag a color swatch, whether an existing swatch or eye-dropped, into my gradient panel, Illustrator crashes. I'm also having issues with my gradient sliders spazzing out when trying to drag them. It causes my program to freeze up. I have one file open and only five gradients in my file, so not enough to overload illustrator. It's making my job extremely hard to do. I have also restarted and tried re-installing illustrator.

    Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.

12. Illustrator taking forever to save

    Version 23.0.4 taking forever to save relatively small files- not sure what's going on but this problem began this week and persists after reinstall.

13. Panels don't open with Application Frame turned off

    On MacOS, when Application Frame is turned off, and Window panels (ex: Layers, Artboards, Swatches, etc.) are condensed, the Window panels will not appear when clicked on. They only work if Application Frame is on.

14. Low performance after Windows 10 november 2019 update

    After updating Windows 10, illustrator becomed very slow both in file opening than commands execution ("application not responding" for minutes each time).
    I uninstalled illustrator release 24 and tryed the 23, that performed very well in the past, but the problem persists.

16. Illustrator crashes when using Image Trace

    Illustrator has been continually crashing when I use the Image Trace tool. I have been using it on the "Sketched Art" setting with an image file that is 20in x 13in @ 300dpi. Also, I have noticed that when I start to manipulate the advanced options, this is when it crashes most often.

    I am using Illustrator CC on Mojave OS.

17. Illustrator freezes after trying to paste an HD-picture from the clipboard into Area Type

    Trying to paste HD-picture from the clipboard in area type text block - Illustrator perceives the picture as a set of characters and can not cope with the amount of information.

    Expected result: The action should not have a visible result, or there should be a warning about an invalid action

    1. Open Illustrator
    2. Open some of HD resolution pictures (PNG, JPG) in the Illustrator
    3. Select the picture (CMD+A)
    4. Embed the picture if it is linked
    5. Copy the picture (CMD+C)
    6. Select the Text Tool, and make one-click anywhere in a workspace of the document to start a text block.
    7. Paste from clipboard (CMD+V)

    Result: Illustrator freezes. Force quit only possible.

19. Sunburst shape distorted when saving Illustrator (Version 24.0.3) file to PDF

    Sunburst shape distorted when saving Illustrator (Version 24.0.3) file to PDF. I have created a sunburst shape in illustrator using a circle shape, then adding a dashed like stroke. The file looks totally fine in illustrator and also when I save it as a PNG and JPG, but when I save it as a PDF the sunburst is distorted (uneven lines). I even sent an illustrator file to a printer and my prints arrived distorted, which means they had the same problem. They are also using the latest version of illustrator. Is this a bug?

    The larger file shows the distorted sunburst in PDF (black/white behind girl). The smaller file shows what it looks like in illustrator (and what it's supposted to look like.
