5. illustrator unexpectedly quits and does not reopen the project i was working on.

   illustrator constantly crashes and then when i try to reopen it my unsaved project i was working on is now gone if it happens again im more than likely going to smash my ******* computer and send it to you in a box asking for a new one since you can't seem to fix your software

6. Shape Builder deletes line sections that should stay.

   I have a complex design with a bunch of overlapping parts and I'm trying to use shape builder to connect sections together. when I select all my lines, then start to build my shapes, it will start deleting lines that are not part of the shape I'm working on. Usually these lines are part of the line I'm working on, but outside of the shape I'm trying to build. The lines aren't highlighted while I'm selecting the pieces of the shape, but disappear anyway. I have tried breaking the line between the shape I'm building and the lines that I don't want deleted, but they still disappear.

7. Measuring/positioning elements improperly includes shadow/effects

   It used to be that when you selected an object/element with a drop-shadow (or other effect), the measurements did NOT include the drop-shadow. HOWEVER, now they do and it's causing me lose-my-mind!!! To measure and or position ANYTHING correctly, you have to first turn-off the shadow (in the Appearance panel) then position/measure and THEN turn-on the drop-shadow!!! Seriously, this is an enormous time-waster. PLEASE, allow us to turn off the function where everything is measured-and-positioned by it's drop-shadow. PLEASE

8. Selecting a font open Glyphs panel

   When I select a font or a previously selected font from the Drop Down Font menu the Glyphs tab (even though I don't have it selected or open anywhere else) it opens across my whole workspace.

10. Rotate dialogue box is now painfully inefficient (CC2019)

    Rotate and Scale functions used to work the same, where you could press R+Enter or S+Enter to bring up their respective dialogue boxes, type in a number, and hit Enter. Very fast, very efficient. Now when you call up the Rotate dialogue box, the focus is on this manual angle widget instead of the numeric field. And should you try to use Tab to change the focus to that field you have to hit it 5x.

    This used to be extremely efficient, which was great since it's not uncommon to use this feature hundreds of times in a day. It meant that, regardless of where your cursor was, you could quickly and precisely make these changes - with either a known angle or your closest guess and then close in using arrow keys or Shift+arrow keys.

    Now performing this same common task means I have three far less efficient options:
    1) Always have my Transform palette open and poke a value in there each time (that means having to always click on a specific part of the UI for the second most common transform function).
    2)Double-click the Rotate tool in the toolbar, then double-click the numeric field, then use the keyboard to enter/adjust my values (hunting down two specific things to click on in sequence before I can enter my angle value. Hooray!)
    3)Hit R+Enter (keyboard), then double-click in the numeric field (mouse), then enter/adjust my angle value (keyboard). There's no way that can possibly sound efficient.

    Been using Illustrator for over 20 years. Still love it. Use it almost every day. I'm really hoping this was just an oversight in this latest version. If there is a more efficient way to make these changes in CC2019, I'm all ears. If not, this change stinks.

11. Document window opens as narrow strip, will not expand to full width

    Every document. Every time.

    Multiple documents stack inside this narrow window.
    Documents set to open in tabs.
    Same regardless if Illustrator is opened first or opens with document.
    Documents on external drives and local machine.

    Every document. Every time.

12. Can't create artboard from rectangle - Illustrator 24.2

    That's all. It says that it can't create artoboards from rotated rectangles or masks. It's a freshly created rectangle.

    This version of AI seems to be very buggy.

13. Password Protection in PDF file disappears after changes and saving a PDF file

    When we password protect PDF in Illustrator the Password protection disappears if we make some changes and just save the file without put in the password again. Same if we open an pdf file with password protection, make changes and just save the file the password disappears. We didn't need to put in password eveytime when we saved the file after put in a password on earlier version. Is this something wrong with the new version or shall it be like this? Please put back old function or make a pop up box that ask for password if the file is password protected.

15. Not sure but it's happening

    Adobe Illustrator 24.2 64-bit
    Windows 10 Home

    So I thought it was my corsair scimitar pro was the problem, but outside adobe, my mouse seems to work fine.

    the issue is, when I work in illustrator, my mouse acts like I released my left mouse button. So for example, when I'm making a rectangle, it sometimes randomly stops making the rectangle like I release my button. Or when dragging it releases.. anybody having this issue?

17. Pathfinder Incorrect Work

    I have a problem with Pathfinder in new Illustrator version 24 (2020) (macOS 10.15.1). Please look at the image attached. Pathfinder doesn't cut a compound shape out of a path or another compound shape. It merges the two instead.
    It worked fine in the previous version of Illustrator.

18. Live paint paths not updating

    Since update 24.2, amending in a path will intermittently not update with live paint. The path will have moved, but the art will visually remain as it was. This especially happens with the curvature tool, and less often (but sometimes) with the pen tool.
    I have real-time drawing turned on, as I did in my previous version.

19. Brush strokes disappearing when exported

    Hello!

    I am completely new to illustrator and thought i would use this spare time to see if i could create my own new logo!

    I am trying to use a 'watercolour' brush stroke behind my text in two different colours which i have done successfully, however when i go to export my image, the brush strokes are appearing on the small preview image, but when the image is opened the strokes disappear. Is there something i need to do to be able to view these in large when exported?

20. Welcome screen doesn't show

    Hello,
    I'm using windows 10 and Illustrator 24.0.2.

    Whenever I'm launching Illustrator, without opening a .ai file, my welcome screen doesn't show at all. I can start a new project fine but I still need my screen to show. And yes the setting to show the welcome screen is checked.
