3. Save as PDF doesn't export opacity correctly when placed back into illustrator. Save 5 minutes prior was fine.

   I made a small change to my illustrator file and it stopped saving correctly. Objects with opacity under 100 do not show up correctly after PDF save and when placed into Illustrator. Please help. The attached images show the PDF once saved and then the PDF after being placed into Illustrator.

4. Save as PDF turns rectangles white, regardless of pdf settings.

   Saving a file as a pdf, whether illustrator capabilities are enabled or not, converts my rectangles (made with the rectangle tool (M)) to white. I've tried multiple files, new files, changing from cmyk to rgb and back again, and this keeps happening. If I use the same swatch and draw a shape with the pen tool, this is a non-issue.

5. Inside / outside strokes get silently expanded when you create a pattern with them

   Try these steps:
   1. Create a shape (like ellipse or rectangle)
   2. Make sure you have Inside or Outside option chosen for Align Stroke in the Stroke panel
   3. Object > Pattern > Make (or drag the ellipse to the Swatches panel)
   4. Check the contents of the pattern.
   The stroke gets expanded!

   However, if you copy an object with an Inside / Outside stroke and paste it into the pattern — it doesn’t get expanded and stays live... until you commit editing — only then Ai warns you non-cnetered strokes will get expanded.

   Perhaps Ai should drop a message before expanding strokes? Shy one (the same as 'Shape expanded' we see when a rectangle gets modified to something else), or a loud one?

   Try these steps:

6. Dimension tool doesn't measure correctly

   So, I went to measure a dieline with the Dimension tool and it measured 9". However, when i selected the dieline and went to the Properties it said it was 8.5". When I actually printed it out and measured it, it was 8.5". This tool is not working correctly. See attached images for further explanation/verification.

   Maybe I am doing something wrong? Can't figure out what that would be though. Thank you for looking into this!

   The problem was in the '0' picked as the Precision value in Dimension Tool Options instead of default '0.00'. If you have this value changed by itself, without you ever changing it manually — please comment.

7. Dimension markers on drawings are not displayed when opening dxf files in Illustrator 2024

   When drawing data exported from CAD software by dxf conversion is opened in Illustrator 2024, dimension line markers are not displayed. 2021 displays them. This may be a bug.

8. イラレ配置画像がメタ情報により回転してしまう。

   イラレCC2021のデータを、イラレCC2023で開く際、画像データにあるメタ情報の方向が反映されてしまい、イラレ上で回転表示となる。
   回転情報を無効にしてデータを開くように、プログラムの変更をお願いできますでしょうか。

   作成データをパッケージ化するとリンクファイルを書き出す時とそうでない時があります。
   パッケージオプションで「リンクをコピー」「再リンク」にチェックいれています。

   時々リンクフォルダが作成されますが、一部のリンクのみです。

   作成データをクライアントと頻繁に共有しますので、改善をお願いします。

10. 警告無しに文字詰めが変化する

    ver.27において、マイナーバージョンリリース又はマイクロバージョンリリースにおいてオプティカルカーニングの仕様が度々変更されています。これ自体は改善の意味合いの強い対応で仕様変更と考えます。
    しかし、仕様変更以前のバージョンの文字組み仕様が異なるにもかかわらず、なんの警告も無しに文字組みが変化します。こういったケースではユーザーに注意を促す警告を表示するべきでしょう。

    再現手順
    1. Illustrator ver.26.5にてエリア内文字を作成し文字間のカーニングを「オプティカル」に設定し、均等配置を指定する。
    2.Illustrator2020形式で保存する。
    3.Illustrator ver.27.9で開いてTツールを用いてエリア内文字にカーソルを入れるか、テキスト自体を移動する。
    4.カーニングの状態が変化する。

    期待する結果
    カーニングが変化する際は警告を表示する。

    実際の結果
    なんの警告もなくカーニングが変化する。

    理想を言えば、既存のファイルに対して新しいカーニング値を自動的に適用せずに以前と全く同じ表示にするのが良いですが、仕様の変更自体は改善の意味合いが強く、仕方ない面もあるかと思います。しかし、編集しているユーザーが、この変化に気が付かない事によりデータトラブルを誘発する可能性もあります。
    これは2022の最終バージョンが書き出す2020形式のファイルでも起こる挙動です。影響を受けるファイルは相当数存在するはずですから、せめて警告が表示されるようにしていただきたいと思います。

14. More issues with Export to svg

    Found another issue with Export to svg in recent updates which means my svg's don't work down stream. Previuosly the first few lines of the svg read as

15. Smooth function converts smooth endpoints in a partial selection into sharp ones

    Here I try to smooth a portion of a simple ellipse with extra points added.

    The Smooth tool works as intended — the points stay smooth, the curves does not get any bumps or creases.

    The Smooth slider however treats the now selected portion of the path as a separate thing altogether, caring about the local smoothness only, making the flush smooth connections to the whole curves into sharp ones.

    I now have two creases I never wanted to create (I am smoothing or what?)
    Please rethink how it treats partial selections.

16. Creative Cloud Libraries — duplicated library asset not visible in filtered Libraries palette view

    When I have a search filter applied in the Libraries palette in Adobe Illustrator to show only assets whose names start with "icn", and I right-click to duplicate one of the filtered assets, the newly created duplicate asset does not appear in the filtered Libraries palette view. The duplicate is created successfully, but is not shown in the current search results. To see the new asset, I have to retype the "icn" search filter, at which point the duplicate becomes visible.

    Expected result:
    After duplicating a library asset, the newly created duplicate should be immediately visible in the Libraries palette, respecting the current search filter. So with a search for "icn", the new "icn" asset should appear in the filtered results.

    Actual result:
    After duplicating a library asset, the duplicate is created but is not shown in the current filtered Libraries view. The search filter has to be re-entered to make the new asset visible.

17. Stroked Clipping Masks get unclipped on file reopening

    Using a clipping mask on photos works, but when I save the file, close it and reopen it, the photos are no longer clipped, but they're grouped with the mask/path instead. I then have to ungroup and reclip them every time I open it. It's happened several times. I should also note that I'm using a stroke color on the path/masks. There's one photo that isn't following the same behavior and it's working properly, but there's no discernible difference between it and the rest of the photos I'm using, whether it be size, mode or whatever.

19. Copy/Paste formatted text is broken

    Mac M1 Pro, 16Go, macOS 14.5
    Illustrator 28.5

    When I copy/paste formatted text into a new text frame or at the text cursor place, the formatting is lost.
    It seem that the formatting of first paragraph is applicate to all paragraphs.
    Kerning adjustments is also lost.

20. Illustrator breaks lines of Latin area type text without hyphens at arbitrary positions

    It is truly a disaster. Working with packaging in different languages, I experience this problem very often. I am forced to format the text in indesign, convert it to paths and paste it into Illustrator...

    Here a sample file: it seems this issue affects especially Cyrillic, but only in certain fonts.
    Indesign handles it correctly.
    To avoid this, I've made a script that assign the "no break" attribute to every word in a selected paragraph.

    The font team informs, the font used is a Japanese font, developed by Coji Morishita. Even though it has Latin and Cyrillic glyphs in it, it’s displayed in the Japanese section in the font list, and has a preview rendered in Japanese (when no text is selected and 'Show Font Names in English' is disabled in Preferences > Type.

    CJK fonts, such as this one, allow to break one character per word, and this extends to Cyrillic glyphs these might have, even with the correct language is picked in Character panel.

    The team is considering to treat Cyrillic like non-CJK when the CJK font's Cyrillic is not full-width, but currently sees it as a narrow case.
