1. Artboard Export Improperly Imports in other DV Apps

   When using the Artboard Export (Control Alt E), I noticed that importing those files (in my case, JPEGs) into After Effects and Premiere results in all the files being the last output image of the batch. It doesn't matter if they are imported one at a time or in a group, through Media Browsers, Drag and Drop, or an Import Dialogue box. The files visibly appear correct on the computer when previewed.

   This is experienced when importing into Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere (2019 and 2020). This behavior is not present in Photoshop or even Adobe Acrobat upon import.

   I have also down-saved to a Legacy .ai and performed the same export. Those files imported properly into all the above DV Apps as expected.

2. Eyedropper tool not showing correct colors sampled outside of Illustrator

   When I click and drag the eyedropper tool outside of Illustrator to sample a color from something else (a website, pdf document, etc.), the color isn't correctly picked up.
   For example, if I move the eyedropper over something orange, it shows in Illustrator as blue or black; even if I sample a large white space, it shows in Illustrator as a different color. It seems to only be showing sampled colors as white, neutral, black/gray, and shades of blue.
   The program is up-to-date.
   I tried it in two browsers, Chrome and Safari, and the results were the same in both.
   I tried quitting and restarting Illustrator and both browsers and nothing changed. When I sample colors inside of Illustrator, it reads correctly.

   We have seen this issue specific to macOS 10.15. Enabling “Screen Recording” access right to Illustrator resolved this issue.

   You can change this setting by going to Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen Recording and add Illustrator Application.

3. Double "replace" dialog boxes, no file name highlighting

   When I use "Save a Copy" to render EPS files of multiple artboards, I get a "Replace" dialog box as the first AND last of four dialog boxes. Previous OS had just one Replace instance as the last step – same as Photoshop's "Legacy Save for Web."

   In addition – and this is much more frustrating and tedious – the file name is not highlighted, forcing me to use the mouse to activate the dialog box (tabbing doesn't work) and then select the text apart from the file tag. Having to manually select text to begin file naming is RIDICULOUS.

4. Stroke stays black even when changing colour

   Stroke stays black even when colour is changed. Only way to make it another colour is to expand appearance, which means losing original unless saved off the artboard

   Probably it’s the same problem as this one, and you have accidentally created a complex appearance either for the layer or the path. You have to open the Appearance panel and study the stack of attributes.

5. Cannot see gradient annotator when several objects are selected

   Hi, in the latest version of Illustrator (2020), I can't see the gradient annotator when I select several objects at the same time. With a single object selected the annotator looks correctly, but when selecting two or more objects it is no longer displayed.
   In previous versions, the gradient annotator is shown when selecting several objects, which I find very useful for copying the properties of the gradient from one object to another.

   I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

   Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

6. When I enter and open an Ai file, it starts one more illustrator application.

   I am working on updated version of Adobe illustrator cc 24.0.1 (64 bit) ruining on windows 10 .

   If I have already opened my application and then hit enter on any AI or EPS file to open it, it launches another application of illustrator while the first one is also running . So, at a time two same applications run on my system.

   I want to open that file in same application.

7. Temp file string prepended to filename slug

   When saving a PDF copy of a file with cropmarks to a network share a temporary string such as "ai157536670945_" is prepended to the filename in the page info/slug in the cropmark area.

8. Text cursor on Mac with Retina Display incredibly thin

   The text cursor is extremely thin on a Mac with Retina-Display. In an empty text box the cursor is nearly invisible, having the same width as the frame of the box. On a regular display, the cursor has a much better visibility. You should auto-detect the screen resolution and choose an appropriate width for the cursor or you should let the user choose a size in the preferences.

   Illustrator input and tools unresponsive when switching between apps. If you click on the stroke, you can't type in the input. Type highlight is grey, not blue showing that something is keeping the selection from being active.

10. Symbols and SVGs issues (Illustrator 2020)

    Issue: When an SVG is reopened in Illustrator with a symbol included in the artboard, the symbol shifts in position within a bounding box and crops as if it is within a Clipping Mask. Any black colour value within a symbol isn’t recognised and is automatically changed to HEX colour #000000. When the SVG is previewed in Finder and uploaded to Magento the symbols appear in the correct position.

    Specs and testing: The issue only occurs since updating to Illustrator 2020 (tested on both macOS Majave (10.14 & 10.14.5) and macOS Catalina (10.15.1).

    When opening the SVG in previous versions of Illustrator on the same mac that has an updated version of Illustrator the same issue is happening. This issue does not occur if Illustrator has never been updated to 2020 version.

11. Update link

    After I updated the 2020 version of the apps, illustrator started to fail. When I modify a photoshop file it takes several minutes to update on illustrator and my computer stops working. It takes like 5 minutes to update the link so i can keep working, before this version the update was automatic.

14. ⚠️ ⚠️ svg filter effect rasterized in image instead of generating svg filter element when exporting svg file

    macOS Catalina version 10.15.1
    Adobe Illustrator 24.0.1

    Steps:
    File -> New (Web -> Common)
    Rectangle Tool (M) -- draw rectangle on artboard
    Effect -> SVG Filters -> AIShadow1
    Open "Asset Export" panel. Choose SVG from "Format" combo box in panel. Click "Generate a single asset from the selection" button at bottom of panel. Expand "Export Settings" in panel, and click "Export" button at bottom of panel. Choose directory for export.

    Expected result:
    SVG file should have a "filter" element. No PNG file should be generated.

    Actual result:
    The exported SVG file does not contain a "filter" element. And the shadow effect has been rasterized in a PNG file.

    macOS Catalina version 10.15.1

15. Can't save or Save As on new file in Illustrator

    Using latest Catalina and latest Illustrator. I have 2 files open. One is an existing file which has been changed. I hit Save, but the file name continues to show the asterisk indicating that it needs to be saved. The other file is new and has not yet been saved. I go to Save As, get the beachball for a few seconds, then nothing. I can't save the file. Save a Copy also fails.

16. Illustrator could only partially read this file

    When I load the first attached file in 24.0.1 (with Windows 10) it loads OK and I can edit it. When I save it and try to reload it in 24.0.1 it says Illustrator could only partially read this file. That's awful when Illustrator cannot read a file it has just saved.

    The layers (and sublayers) under ALL > WATERWAYS > A-B beginning with A have all gone missing when it reads in what it can. Other parts may be missing too.

    It works fine in 23.1. and I have had to revert to using that.

    I have lost a day's work as I kept saving my work in 24.0.1 at regular intervals but the following day none could be read back in and I had to revert to the previous day's backup which was saved in 23.1

    The first file attached (y191125-1042 EAW 95) is one which loads OK into 24.0.1 and the second (x191130-2214 EAW 95) is the result when the first file is saved in 24.0.1 and which will not load back in.

    Note the files are not attached as I don't want them to be public. I will provide them on request.

17. Illustrator font dropdown disappeared despite updating Illustrator

    Hi, my Illustrator font dropdown disappeared. Since then, I've updated it to the latest Illustrator (24.0.1 - 64 bit) but it's still not showing. What's happening? Thanks!

19. Glitch in outlining a dotted stroke

    macOS Catalina 10.15.1 Illustrator 2020

    I made a line, applied dashed line, adjusted gap(2,4) and dash(0,01) to make it look like dots and outlined. Random dots have been cut in half after outlining.
    It never happened to me before.

20. Display not being refreshed, scrolling through Artwork while zoomed in and dragging an object

    When I have zoomed into my artwork and drag an object - for example draw a rectangle or line that reaches the end of the window while dragging, the artboard scrolls, but the image is not refreshed. Only the ruler shows me, that I am scrolling... Even when I stop dragging and release the mousebutton, the image is not fully refreshed. Otherwise: when I drag the Marquee-Tool to the end of the window, scrolling starts and the image gets constantly refreshed while dragging. This is the way I would normally expect it to be, regardless of the the Tool I am using. Illustrator behaves this way since I know it and I really don’t understand why it does so. Performance can’t be the reason. Even old Macromedia Freehand, 15 years ago could handle this - being a PowerPC App, running under Rosetta on an old Intel-Mac...
