Illustrator shows spinning circle - tried everything
I can use the mouse, but the cursor has a spinning wheel even outside Illustrator, and the menus don't work. I've been through checklists about install/reinstall, remove user preference folder, in Illustrator as in other products, I've tried moving all the fonts I could from the fonts folder. I've rebooted multiple times. I've tried reinstalling Illustrator. After doing all this, I get error messages such as "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (SExi)", "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error (CANT)". No DPI resolution in export file when export for screens
When export I use export for screen, there is no DPI resolution in the exported files.
Illustrator 21.1.0 - macOS
1. Create a new document
2. Create a simple element like a rectangle with 200 x 200 pixel
3. Set the document size to 200 x 200 pixel
4. Export it for screens
5. Generate 3 diffrent files with the scale factor of 29, 58 and 87 pixel
6. Save / Export the files
7. Open the file in preview or Photoshop

The "HDV 1080" preset needs fixing
The "HDV 1080" preset resolution is 1920x1080. Small point, but the resolution of HDV is 1440x1080, so the naming of it is kinda wrong. I think in Photoshop, AE & Premiere, it's referred to as the "HDTV 1080" preset, so I think it's probably a mistake/typo by someone at Adobe.
Also, the preset gives you an extra artboard which is 14400 x 14400 px for some reason (I imagine it's also a bug), so when you try to export your file, it always defaults to exporting this artboard unless you delete it. Again, small thing but clearly a mistake and…

Link location mistaken for other document's link location
When opening a specific document, links are found missing.
When I open the document nevertheless, click on a link and check the location, the path it shows is one that was used in a previously opened, unrelated document.
When my colleague opens the document on her computer, everything is fine.

Illustrator won't open more than one file at a time.
I have version 21.1.0 (64 bit) running on Windows 10 (more system details in attached png). I am not able to open more than one file at a time. What happens:
- I open a file.
- I double click to open another AI file (other file opening methods have same results).
- Nothing happens. One file remains open. I might see the spinner mouse for a sec but the second file never opens.
- If I try to close the first file, leaving Illustrator open, and open a new file, Illustrator becomes unresponsive and I have to close it via the Task Manager.

Hitting Enter/Return to confirm after modifying values (Stroke, Opacity, Etc) in the Top Toolbar Opens a Move Dialog Box Instead
When modify values such as opacity in the toolbar, i have always hit enter/return to confirm changes. As of recently however, this now opens a Move dialog box instead of submitting my changes. (See the attached gif for an example)
If there is something wrong about my workflow please let me know, but I don't currently see any other way of confirming these types of minor edits.
After several rounds of cancelling the move dialog, the changes will miraculously go through, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why. As you can imagine, this is…

Fonts Slow EVERYTHING Down
Fonts are the slowest feature in programs from MS Office to Adobe. This problem just caused me to lose work because AI shut down while trying to figure out how to manage a standard font with which I was working. Thanks for nothing AI and your simpleton font generators. You're fired.

FILE Corruption - Illustrator will not open AI files. Adobe CC/Windows 10.
just trying to open AI files to work in ILLUSTRATOR. POS won't open. After reboot, won't open. How was the subscription model supposed to be better?

Eye Dropper tool color is off

Zoom artefact
Illustrator 21.1.0
When I use a very high zoom (25 500 %), paths appear distorded or even disappear.
It happens when GPU rendering is off as well as when it's on.

Undo Button Stops Working
When using the pen tool, if I move the object or try to undo an incorrect anchor placement I cannot undo what I've done by using keyboard commands or Edit > Undo

Latest update (30.6) = Extreme Slowdown
Since the latest update (30.6), with latest MacOS, Illustrator has become almost unusable. Clicking on anything takes about 2-3 seconds and if you move or try to double-click – heaven help you...
Needs an urgent fix!

Sizes of vector art is NOT accurate
When I select a vector graphic (a logo), I go to Transform to set the size.
I set the size to 3in x 3in
But when I PRINT and measure the graphic, it is NOT 3in x 3in.
I have to set the graphic to 3.1in x 3.1in in order to output an actual 3in x 3in graphicThis has caused me a LOT of issues when I am outputting graphics that need to be a specific size.
WHY are the transform measurements NOT accurate?

Export for Screens Inaccurate on Large-Size Canvas
The export for screens, scaling by width option does not always export at the right size. For example, I will input 2000 pixels, but the exported images will be 20,000 pixels. Sometimes, it does output 2000 pixels as desired. I believe the pattern may be whether the file is a large-sized canvas or not, the large-size canvas being the inaccurate export. For the time, I have been using "200" to get 2,000 pixels. However, this feature is essential for exporting mockups of large-format prints as the true size is too large for sharing. Regression: Freeform Gradient renders differently after scaling in Illustrator 30.5.1 (same AI file renders correctly in 29.0)
Illustrator Versions
• Illustrator 29.0 → Works correctly
• Illustrator 30.5.1 → Incorrect rendering
I found a rendering regression between Illustrator 29.0 and Illustrator 30.5.1.
The exact same AI file renders differently depending on the Illustrator version.
The artwork contains a Compound Path with a Freeform Gradient.
In Illustrator 29.0, the rendering is correct.
In Illustrator 30.5.1, after scaling the object, the color interpolation changes unexpectedly.
Most noticeably, the letter "o" changes its rendered appearance even though the Freeform Gradient control points remain exactly the same.
Open the attached AI file.
Select the Compound Path containing the "only" logo.

"Move art with artboard" always moves pattern tiles, ignoring the "transform pattern tiles" pref.
First observed on 2026 (30.3). Also found on 2020, I'm gonna assume this has existed as long as "move art with artboard" has been around. I was doing some work with a lot of large patterns and wanted to move the whole thing relative to their origin without redefining a bunch of graphic styles. Very unexpected behavior.
I would not be surprised if "scale art with artboard" also ignores the "transform pattern tiles" setting but the patterns I was using make that hard to check, so I didn't. Please check this too and fix it if it's also misbehaving. :)

Illustrator2025以降のバージョンで、入力したテキストの一部が消えてしまいます。
テキストを入力→保存→ファイルを閉じる→開き直す と入力したテキストの一部が消えてしまうことがあり、入力し直しになります。
テキストをを平打ちした時とエリア内テキスト両方で同じ症状が起きています。

Intertwine group + opacity mask = crash on save.
Title says it all, really.
Initially discovered on 30.1, the oldest version I tried it on was 27.8.1 which feels old enough to say this may have been there since intertwine first showed up. Still there in 30.3.
