  1. Spellcheck turns off when you apply Drop Shadow or other effects to a text

    Spellcheck must work for all text objects once enabled, no matter what appearance it has.

    Here, the same line of text with a typo in it has a drop shadow and a custom fill applied. No zigzag lines, and all those who count on Ai to mark they typos are in trouble.

  2. PNG import broken

    Illustrator 25.4.8. (on macOS 10.14.6) can't import PNG files any more. For PNG files that have already been placed in previous versions, Illustrator reports a broken link and doesn't allow to relink. (PNG import worked fine in the previous version of Illustrator.)

  3. Reordering artboards / double clicking an artboard zooms me into that artboard

    I experience the following disorienting app behaviour.

    How to reproduce:
    1. Zoom out with all the artboards in view.
    2. In the artboard list, find which artboard is highlighted.
    3. Click-and-drag that artboard. (Don't even really need to reorder it)

    Expected behavior:
    Nothing asides from reordering the artboards.

    Actual behavior:

    I am now zoomed into that artboard. I then have to zoom back out and continue reordering artboards at my desired birds-eye-view distance.

  4. broken: Save Variable Library

    since Ai 26.3.1

    saving variable library from the variables panels result in this error:
    'The filter cannot complete because of an unknown error.'

    Also a related issue is that scripts using 'exportVariables' function will fail

  5. Global Color swatch copied into new document even if not used on element being copy/pasted.

    Problem: create a square with stroke=0 and fill=100% black. Copy and paste into new document and color swatches are okay. Now go to first document and add a Global Color swatch (i.e. Pantone Green) but don't add it to the square (so it's still stroke=0 / fill=100% black). Copy the square and paste it into a new document. For some reason, that Global Color (Pantone Green) swatch is added to the swatch palette of the new document. Now choose 'Select All Unused', the Pantone Green is selected to prove it's not being used in the element (square) you copy/pasted from…

  6. Illustrator 25.4.1 Generating constant 105MB log files into com.adobe.dunamis folder and filling up hard drive

    When I am working in Illustrator, my fan starts to run and Illustrator generates multiple log files per minute in the com.adobe.dunamis folder. Each log file is roughly 105MB and before I was able to pinpoint what was going on, it filled my hard drive with 750GB of log files. If I close Illustrator and reopen it, it stops for awhile but I haven't been able to pinpoint what triggers the start of the log file generation – it isn't consistently doing it, but it does occur multiple times per day.

  7. Copy/paste vector: Illustrator → Figma/Inkscape gives inconsistent results

    SInce 25.3, some shapes are distorted when copied from AI to Figma, Inkscape or any other software, as you can see in the attached image.

    It's not systematic. I attached a document to reproduce the issue.
    Note that it's not fixed by the last prerelease.

    I attached an example.

  8. 画像をコピー＆ペーストするとスライスの設定が消失します

    MacOSX 11.4
    Illustrator ver.25.3.1

    ドキュメント間で画像のコピー＆ペーストを行なうと、ペーストしたドキュメントの矩形に付与したスライスの設定が消失してしまいます。
    画像を含まないオブジェクトのコピー＆ペースト、ドキュメント間でのドラッグ＆ドロップによる画像の複製では再現しません。

  9. Illustrator holds on to DWG/DXF files until it quits

    If a DWG/DXF file is opened, imported or even looked at by illustrator, then those files can't be moved, renamed, deleted or modified at all until illustrator is quit. Windows shows the error "Can't do 'x' because the file is still open in Illustrator.
    Seems to be a 2020/2021 issue as 2019 doesn't do the bug.

  10. Rotation of a text while Snap to Grid is on

    You can't rotate a text with the Rotate tool when Snap to grid is on.

    Please watch the GIF attached.

    Then try to replicate.

    Open the attached document.
    Enable Snap to Grid.
    Select text.
    Grab Rotate tool.
    Hold Shift (or even do not).
    Try to rotate the text.
    Failure?
    If yes, move it a bit to the side (with snapping still on) and try again.
    Experiment a bit with different positions.

  11. Enabling Rulers or entering Outline or Isolation mode completely disables GPU Preview

    Illustrator Version: 25.2.1

    Mac OS: 11.2.3 Big Sur
    MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
    CPU: 2.3GH-z 8-Core i9
    Memory 664 GB 2667MHz DDR4
    Graphics: AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8GB

    Displays: 2x LG UN850 4K Displays (Connected via Thunderbolt) + Built in MBP Display

    Reproduce steps:

    Restart Machine
    Launch Illustrator upon startup
    Create New Blank Document
    Press Cmd+R to enable Rulers
    Click "view" under main menu and see "View Using GPU" grayed out

    Did not have this issue with prior versions of Illustrator or Mac OS

    Temporary Fix:

    Save file with rulers hidden
    Re-Open document
    Should default to having GPU on

    • Please share the details of the Ai version (desktop) you are using.
    • If possible , it would be helpful for us to reproduce the issue if you could share the files with which you constantly face the issue.

  12. Live Paint bucket tool preview error

    1. Adobe Illustrator CC 2021 (25.2.1 64-bit) on Windows 10 Home Edition.

    2. After the Live Paint Bucket tool is selected, out of the 3 preview swatches above the pointer, the center one is always wrong / inverted. This bug is consistent when we press the left & right arrow keys on the keyboard to select a swatch. On the other hand, the Swatches panel would reflect the correct option when the Live Paint Bucket tool is in used.

  13. Ugly edges when using clipping mask or stacking objects with the exact same shape

    Whenever stacked objects have the exact same shape, or when using a clipping mask, the colors from the objects below will be visible around the edge of the upper object. See screenshot.

    This will probably not show when you print, but it does show when you rasterize a vector image. The screenshot is from a rasterized .ai image opened in Photoshop. So it's not just a preview bug in Illustrator.

    And it's quite disturbing to see these ugly edges when work on your illustration.

  14. Bug when Alt/Option-dragging multiple points with Direct Select

    In Illustrator version 24.3, I'm getting a bug with Alt/Option-dragging multiple points using the Direct Selection tool. See screen recording attached.

    Opt+dragging one point gives expected results.

    Opt+dragging 2 or more points copies the entire object.

  15. Scatter Brush doesn't align smoothly to curve

    Hi, I'm using Illustrator 24.2.3 on an Imac late 2015.

    Scatter Brush seems to have issues with curves. If I create a scatter brush from a single object, the line seems to follow the curve loosely in straight line segments, creating a very jagged effect. I've attached images to hopefully clarify. The thinner "smaller brush element" examples I have included are made from a small circle shape a little less than one pixel in diameter.   16. Can’t save my files. 'You don’t have enough access privileges. ID: -5000' error.

    Illu wont let me save my files, even though the size is not even that large. I tried restarting my mac and quitting the application a couple times, but still doesnt seem to work.

  17. Deleting a control handle with Anchor Point Tool

    I like the fact that you can eliminate a control handle on a closed shape by selecting the Convert Anchor Pt. Tool and click the handle. Problem is... when you have the Pen Tool and you hold option to access the Convert Anchor Pt. Tool, it will not delete the handle. What is up???

  18. When a document using Japanese TrueType font is opened in different OS environment, font warning is given

    When Japanese TrueType font is used in a document and opened in different OS environment,
    Even though you have installed the same font, you will get a font warning when you open it.
    Screenshots are created on Windows and open on macOS. But the opposite is also true.

    1. Create a file in Windows environment and save it using related fonts
    2. When 1 is opened in macOS environment, the corresponding font is displayed as a font problem.
    3. Open Font Search after opening has not caused any problems

  19. Fills rendered not accurate compared to edges when using GPU mode

    I noticed a small rendering issue with strokes in GPU mode. The boundaries seem to be somewhat inaccurate, to the point that in certain situations (regardless of whether or not they're joined and by any method), suck as a tee shape, a small bulge of one stroke can appear beyond the edge of another, even though they shouldn't.

    See attached pictures, the problem area is circled. It is subtle, but visible. There is a slight bulge extending outwards towards the right, presumably from the horizontal path at that junction. This is incorrect, the paths are joined and have identical stroke…

  20. Pixel preview incredibly slow

    Working in pixel preview mode is painfully slow – even on small, simple files.

    It makes no difference whether GPU mode is on or off.
