1. Selected an object in a bottom layer makes it render on top when exporting to TIFF

   When exporting to TIFF(doesn't happen when exporting to PNG), if I have text selected at the time, it appears at the front, when there should be layers above. I have attached a sample Illustrator file and resultant TIFF.

3. Snap to Point doesn’t help much to snap an object’s edge to another edge, even with Smart Guides

   'Snap to point' in Illustrator is poor. You cannot currently snap objects together reliably. Results are inconsistent.
   For example:
   1) snapping a point to an edge does not work well, if at all. I have 'snap to point' on and smart guides enabled.
   2) when using constrain with the Shift key, whether they be points or edges. Even with Snap to Point turned on, or using Smart Guides. Just something simple as drag-copying another box adjacent to itself does not snap together the edges.

   In my videos, the first video applies to point 1) and the second video at 10s, you can see that when using 'constrain' there is no information about where the edges are, and snapping of the edges clearly does not work. Not even dragging a corner, which is a point, to the other objects' edge, no snapping or any edge indication.

   Adobe please do not consider this. Please just fix it and make this work, please!

4. Glyph substitution not working in v28.7.1

   In v28.7.1, if the formatting of the character immediately before a glyph substitution is different, the glyph substitution does not work, and the default glyph is displayed instead. This bug occurs just by opening an ai file from a previous version. It's an extremely serious bug.

   It is confirmed the issue is indeed fixed in the Beta 28.7.0.65 and soon will be pushed into main build.

5. PARM Error after switching from Illustrator CC2023 to Illustrator CC2025

   I am trying to resolve a PARM issue that users have been facing since migrating from CC 2023 (27.9) to CC 2025 (29.8.2).
   System: macOS 15.6.1
   Apple M1 Max

   The error message appears on many files, significantly slowing down file editing and making Illustrator extremely slow.
   The only solution I have found is to reset the Illustrator preferences. This solution temporarily fixes the issue, but then it switches back.
   When this happens (regularly), Illustrator becomes impossible to use.
   I am looking for information on this issue. Is it a hardware issue, RAM, graphics card, or potential file corruption?
   At this stage, I have not yet collected any files from users who did not think to make a copy of the affected files. I only have screenshots.
   Any ideas on how to solve this issue would be welcome.

6. Home and End buttons in Find and Replace misbehave

   Pressing Home and End buttons in all Find and Replace input fields should properly place the cursor at the start and the end of the text, instead of picking first and last values from the dropdown lists (like in happens in the Font Browser).
   Home and End should pick the first/last items ONLY when the dropdowns are expanded!

   We are experiencing a display issue when opening RGB graphic files. The content appears corrupted on screen, showing scattered or smeared pixel artifacts.

   In some cases, the issue is reduced or temporarily disappears when zooming in/out or scrolling the canvas. However, the problem is purely visual and does not affect the actual file data.

   When the file is saved or printed, the output is correct and shows no abnormalities.

10. Recent Colors is adding the [None] swatch as K=0 and apply white

    When fill is focused, setting [None] adds the white (K=0) chip into Recent Colors sections.
    Doesn’t happen for strokes.

11. Center Vertical Alignment for Area Type becomes Top when Every-Line composer is used

    Take a look at the GIF attached.
    When vertical alignment is set to Center, it works only for Single-line composer. When Every-line composer gets chosen, the alignment becomes Top instead.

12. Many issues in Illustrator 2025

    Hi everyone,
    I'm experiencing a range of serious issues in Illustrator 2025 when working with AI or PDF files (many of which originate as PDFs and are then converted to AI for editing). Here's a breakdown of what's going wrong:

    ⚠️ Main Problems:

    Error ID: -128 when pasting text
    Every time I try to paste text into a text box—whether copied from a browser, a PDF, or even another Illustrator file—I get an error saying:
    Can't paste the type. ID: -128
    This makes it impossible to replace or update any existing text areas.

    Can't move objects: transformation too large
    When trying to move a single element, I get an error:
    Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large.
    No idea why this happens—nothing is grouped, and I’ve checked that all layers are unlocked.

    Dragging text boxes stretches the text instead of resizing the box
    When I try to expand a text area, Illustrator stretches the text itself rather than increasing the box size. It seems like all text is stuck in Point Type mode, and switching it to Area Type doesn’t always work.

    Selection issues and erratic grouping

    Some objects can't be selected at all unless I use Outline mode.

    Clicking one object sometimes causes all nearby objects to move.

    Even though I haven't grouped anything, Illustrator treats random sets of objects as if they're linked.

    Save and export often fail or hang

    Saving the document often gets stuck or results in a corrupt file.

    Exporting as PDF, PNG, or SVG occasionally fails without an error or freezes Illustrator entirely.

13. Rotating an object with 3D Extrude & Bevel causes pixelation in v29.8.2

    I don't know if any user has raised this before, but the 3D Extrude and Bevel in Illustrator (29.8.2) has an issue. When trying to manipulate an object by rotating it, the object completely pixelates as it is adjusted. It's impossible to ascertain the positioning as it just becomes a massed blob of pixels whilst I am trying to position it. Whether positioning it manually, or by using the X,Y, Z sliders, the problem still persists. Zooming in doesn't work either (the pixellation just increases in size). See screen grab- as you can see, the item I am trying to manipulate is completely pixelated as and whenever I try to reposition it.

    The Classic version doesn't have this issue, and the object remains clear at all times. A shame as the new version has more features, but it's quite unusable because of this.

    Can you sort this issue out?

14. Installed Fonts not showing

    Previously installed fonts not showing anymore. Says the fonts are missing but it worked previously and maybe 1 in 10 times it will have no error and the fonts will show. These fonts exist on my PC so it's not a cloud issue as far as i can see.

15. Live text in transparency mask not outlining or showing in font list

    This is a 2 part issue:

    1. If I select all and outline the type the document doesn't outline anything that is in a transparency mask. This is a major flaw that needs to be resolved as has lead to mistakes being printed with default text.
       Select all and outline needs to either include everything within transparency masks or a new command to outline text within these masks needs to be created as a separate option.

    2. A huge worry is I released work last week where I believed everything in the transparency masks had been correctly outlined by individually going in to the mask and outlining type.
       When the printer opened the file, it said it still had live type, however, when I opened the file and checked the find/replace fonts panel, even thought there was live text still within a transparency layer that I had missed, the document said there were no live fonts, see attached image!

18. Adobe Illustrator keeps turning on "Real-Time Drawing and Editing" when I want it off.

    Adobe Illustrator 30.0 keeps turning on "Real-Time Drawing and Editing" in the Performance Settings when I want it off. I uncheck it, and it's fine. It stays that way. However, sometimes if the app has been quit and reopened, the checkbox is ticked again. Unless I'm accidentally causing it to happen with a secret keyboard shortcut, the app is arbitrarily doing this itself! It also does it sometimes when the app is updated. It's actually an old bug and goes back many, many versions. Time it was stamped out, Adobe.

19. Upon reopening Ai files, it shows that fonts are missing when they aren't

    To fix the "error" I have to navigate to Adobe fonts, uninstall each font one by one, as uninstalling a font family all at once doesn't fix the issue, then individually reinstall each font. Super tedious and taxing to workflow. Issue is across multiple files, all that I have created on the same device that presents the "missing font" dialogue so I know it isn't a file issue. Please fix.

20. Linked image file extensions are truncated after saving and reopening (.PNG becomes .PN, .PDF become .PD) in Illustrator 30

    When working with linked raster assets in Illustrator 30 on macOS, the file extension of linked images may be truncated after saving and reopening the document. For example, a file originally named image01.PNG will appear in the Links panel as image01.PN, causing Illustrator to report the link as missing. The original file remains unchanged and accessible in Finder.

    This issue did not occur in older Illustrator versions (notably 25–26). Because these versions are no longer available for download in Creative Cloud on macOS, there is currently no stable workaround other than embedding images, which is not feasible for large projects.

    Steps to Reproduce

    Create a new Illustrator document.

    Place a raster image using File → Place with the Link option enabled (e.g., image01.PNG).

    Save the document.

    Close Illustrator.

    Reopen the same .ai file.

    Check the Links panel: the linked filename appears as image01.PN and is flagged as missing.

    Issue is intermittent but reproducible.

    Expected Result

    Illustrator should preserve the exact filename of linked assets and should not modify image file extensions when saving or reopening documents.

    Actual Result

    The final character of the file extension is removed, causing broken links. Relinking restores the artwork temporarily, but the issue returns on later reopen cycles.

    Impact

    Production workflows are disrupted.

    Repeated relinking required.

    Risk of missing assets in final deliverables.

    This is a regression from previous stable behavior.

    Additional Notes

    This appears to be a metadata handling bug involving string truncation. The consistent removal of only the last character in the extension strongly suggests a read/write error in link path management.

    A fix or confirmed stable build is urgently needed.
