Artboard orientation changes from vertical to horizontal (portrait to landscape) by itself
After update to 28.3, some artboards are switching orientation by themselves. It's not specific to content or number of artboards, apparently. Sometimes I just open a document with some artboards and hover my cursor over them (not even clicking anything) and the artboard just flips orientation from vertical to horizontal. Most of my work consists on social media posts (1080x1920px or 1080x1350px) witch now Illustrator insists in automatically switching to Landscape for no apparent reason.
By the way, the content is not flipped, just the artboard. And not all of them, usually just one out of the 10 or 20…18 votesThe fix is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.

Preview in PNG export options panel doesn't work
There is a bug in options panel for PNG files, the preview window only show white or transparent regarding the option selected.

・すでに変数ライブラリが読み込まれている
・１つの変数に複数のオブジェクトを割り当てているこのようなとき、変数＞変数ライブラリの読み込み、から別の変数を読み込もうとすると、
「不明なエラーのため、フィルター処理を完了できません。」
と表示されるバグがありますので、報告します。なお、複数割り当てられているオブジェクトを「変数のバインディング解除」で１つしか割り当てられていない状態にすると、上記のエラーは起こりません。

Keyword search in Illustrator panel is not giving results for all libraries
Working on macOS Sonoma 14.4.1
In Illustrator 28.4.1 (seen the bug in different Illustrator versions e.g., 27.9.2)Experienced behaviour:
When I search in ‘all libraries’ in Illustrator I don’t get results from all libraries (picture 1), instead (I believe) I’m getting the results from recently used libraries (those which are synchronised with my computer).So to be able to search all libraries I need to click one by one, load them and then I’m able to search. (picture 2)
Wanted behaviour:

SVG "Export" or "Save as" not working
Unable to export or save any file as SVG unless I select an artboard, never had issues with this before. It does nothing when trying to, not even a error message.

Check Spelling Settings (Auto spell Check)
Check Spelling Settings is missing in Preferences dialog. Auto correct showing wrong spellings.

Rendering Issue with Knock Out Group beyond 200% zoom out
1 background layer, 1 top layer containing 1 text and 1 rectangle grouped together and set as knock out group. A fill is added to the text with opacity 0%, the initial fill is deleted.
Until I zoom in to 200%, the text is not rendered. Starting from 200% zoom, the text is correctly knocked out from the rectangle.

Severe color shift in GPU Preview when placing images — macOS Sequoia + M4 chip + Illustrator 2025
I'm experiencing a serious color rendering issue in Adobe Illustrator 2025 on my new MacBook Pro (M4 chip) running macOS Sequoia 15.5.
When placing or embedding images (JPG/PNG), the GPU Preview mode displays extreme color shifts, making the artwork look completely different from the source image. However, switching to CPU Preview restores correct colors— but the performance becomes noticeably slower and almost unusable for real-time editing.
As a professional designer, I rely on GPU Preview for efficient, accurate work. This bug breaks trust in color fidelity and slows down production significantly. Please investigate and address this GPU rendering issue on…1 vote -

Saving a new Image Trace preset does not remember the "Auto Grouping" checkbox’s state
When doing Image Trace, I don't need Auto Grouping. I tweak all the settings, uncheck "Auto Grouping", and save a New Preset.
But after applying that saved preset to the new image, "Auto Grouping" checkbox is still checked by default - and i need to uncheck it every time manually (and that triggers "re-trace") before i click "Expand".
I need to have a preset without "Auto Grouping", but it's impossible to do, since Illustrator simply ignores that check-box when saving a preset.2 votes -
Animated zoom not working on latest version 29.4 for MacBook Air M4 24GB unified memory
I am not able to animated zoom in or out after 50%. It directly jumps to 100% and gets glitchy even after that point. The same issue is happening when I try to view it in presentation mode - it just displays my art board at 50% or less or 100%. Even when I manually input the zoom percentage in the bottom left corner, it automatically jumps to 50%.
I checked GPU performance and animated zoom and made sure it's checked on.

Instead of undoing the last action, it jumps back to a much earlier point, and then it can’t be redone — it’s as if the last few steps never happened. Sometimes this also happens when saving the project, which is very problematic. It seems to occur randomly, and the only way to fix it is to close and reopen the program — but that doesn’t recover the lost actions either. I have the latest version of the app and a Macbook Pro M2 with 16gb of RAM.

While the file is still running in the software, it has vanished from the folder.
Regretfully, my file is no longer in the area where I saved it, but it is still open in the software, and I am unable to save it to any folder or Adobe Cloud. I don't know why this is occurring.

Can't print gradients!
Running Illustrator 29.4 on a brand new Mac Studio Ms Ultra. I can no longer print ANY gradients (past or newly created) that I make in Illustrator and save as a pdf. I can view them on the screen, but they disappear when printed—the whole shape/object/type is just missing. Never had this issue in the decades that I have been using Illustrator. Printing to a Canon inkjet with most current driver installed. HELP ME, PLEASE.

Artboard size units not right
Ai 29.4 / Sequoia 15.4
Create an artboard of 59,4 x 60 cm, add some graphics. Save as .pdf.
Place in InDesign, and see how it is actually 5,94 x 6 cm.

Bottom margins for labels are too small for Swatch Info objects in the column view (with no card backgrounds)
If I choose to display Swatch Info card in a column, and choose to omit background cards, the result would have text lines too close to the chips below, like the attached image shows. It makes it feel like the text is not related to chips above, and forces us to use cards still to control 'space after' at least somehow, even when cards are not necessary.
While the team hardcoded the 'space before' as a strict gap (again, hardly OK), they seem to forget to do the same for the bottom line.

Eyedropper picks the color of the antialiased edge of a stroke blended with the background instead of the actual stroke color
Eyedropper requires a ton of precision when picking a color of s stroke.

Here I have violet and green lines, drawn above a raster image.I’ve mistaken and used green color instead of violet, and now I want to pick it from the existing line.
I click, precise enough (I hope), but the color picked — the almost correct violet (C74,95 M74,61 — instead of the global 75-75) — is not in the background at all. It’s a BLENDED color of the RENDERED anti-aliased EDGE of the stroke! So Ai secretly rasterizes what it sees and then…

Illustrator 29.1 Can't Import AI Files From Other Apps
I posted something about this in the Illustrator user forums earlier today. I've been dealing with a bug present in the Illustrator 29.1 update that was pushed to users this morning. This new version cannot open AI files exported by rival graphics applications if the AI file contains any live text objects. If the artwork is all raw vectors, even with complex fills, it opens fine. Any live text makes it a no-go.
When attempting to open the AI file containing text objects this message is displayed:
