1. Auto Spell Check is splitting words causing false highlights.

2. Recolor doesn’t allow to change white or black with a first try

   I use the Recolor (color mixer / wheel) daily. I have come across an annoying bug.

   Some base colors will be automatically 'locked' in the color mixer, indicated by a '-'. For example, let's say I'm trying to turn white into red.
   - First, white needs to be unlocked. By clicking the '-', it will become an arrow '->', and the swatch should be toggle-able now.
   - The first time you toggle the white, it selects, sliders can be moved to make it red, but it doesn't stay adjusted; it reverts back to whites.
   - You need to click another random swatch, then go back to the white swatch which now accepts being toggled to red.

3. Save/Export Dialog Fails on macOS 26 Beta — System UI Freezes After Error

   Operating System:
   macOS 26 Beta (Tahoe), latest developer beta as of July 2025
   Mac model: MacBook Pro M2 (2022)

   Adobe Illustrator Version:
   Latest available via Creative Cloud as of July 3, 2025 (v28.x.x)

   Steps to Reproduce the Issue:

   Open Adobe Illustrator.

   Create or open any file.

   Go to File > Save As or File > Export.

   The system attempts to open the save dialog but fails.

   The following error appears:
   “The save file operation failed. The save file operation failed to connect to the open and save panel service.”

   After that, core macOS interface components freeze, including:

   Finder

   The menu bar

   The Dock

   The only way to recover is to open Activity Monitor or run killall Finder from Terminal.

   Expected Result:
   The Save or Export dialog should appear, allowing me to choose a file name and location.

   Actual Result:
   The dialog fails to open, shows an error message, and the macOS UI becomes unresponsive until manually restarted.

   Additional Notes:

   This issue started immediately after installing macOS 26 Beta (Tahoe).

   The same behavior occurs in Adobe Photoshop as well.

   Native macOS apps like Preview or TextEdit do not experience this issue.

   I’ve tested restarting the Mac, reinstalling Illustrator, resetting preferences, and booting in Safe Mode.

   The system process com.apple.appkit.xpc.openAndSavePanelService does not appear to be running when this happens.

4. Scale Tool won't deselect

   After scaling a pattern within a shape using shift + back quote key you cannot deselect to accept the changes to the patterns scale. I cannot click on any other tool to get out of the glitch. It only stops when I press control + alt + delete.

5. Verification takes too long

   I just went to open an Illustrator file and it decided it need to verify Illustrator. It just took 25 minutes for the verification progress bar to complete before it even began to open the program. This is way too long when you’re under a deadline or even just trying to run a business. What a waste of time. I’ve had the same issue with Photoshop and InDesign as well when CC or the computer (I don’t know which) decides it needs to verify the program. Extraordinarily frustrating and embarrassing when working with a client.
   How can the verification time be shortened please?

7. [Illustrator 2025, 29.0][Win11 Pro 23H2] No Recent Local Files in the Welcome Screen

   Recent local files and their previews are completely gone from the welcome screen in Illustrator 2025, 29.0.

   Changing the number of visible recent files, restarting the computer, disabling/enabling GPU acceleration and even doing a clean install of Illustrator didn't help.

   As stated in an update at forums, there is a solution.

   A backend fix has been applied. Please restart Illustrator to see if the issue is resolved.

   If it persists, follow these steps:

   1. Close all Adobe apps, including the Creative Cloud desktop app.

   2. Navigate to the following folder location:

   Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/CCX Welcome folder

   Windows: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CCX Welcome\

   3. Locate the folder named CCX Welcome and rename it to CCX Welcome.old.

   4. Relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app, then reopen Illustrator.

   Leave a comment if this resolves the issue or not.

10. Objects vanish when a PDF is exported

    The PDF document is not being saved correctly. I have tried saving it in different ways, changing the elements and it still isn't working. I believe it is a problem in Acrobat itself perhaps?

11. Strokes smaller than 1 pt (or 1 mm) become zero when Stroke Weight down arrow key button is used

    If you set a stroke to 1 pt and click Stroke Weight down arrow key button, it correctly goes to the next smaller value from the dropdown — 0.75 pt.
    But if you do the same with 0.95 or anything smaller than 1 pt, clicking this button instantly makes it zero, skipping all the smaller values.

    It’s even worse if you set stroke units to be non-points — even though there are plenty of smaller values in the dropdown, and 1 mm is much larger than a point, it goes 0 too.

    While Cmd/Ctrl+arrow (not recorded) works fine with points, going 1-0.9-0.8... — for millimeters it works only down to 0.5, and then skips 0.35 and 0.25 (listed in the dropdown) and become 0 again.

    Ai hates other units...

12. Custom toolbars with plugin tools rearrange themselves alphabetically on launch

    Windows 11, Illustrator 29.3.1
    I use a custom toolbar with the tools I use most frequently (many Astute Graphics plugin tools), arranged in a specific order that I go to with muscle memory. Recently (2 updates ago?), they jumbled up – actually, they arranged themselves alphabetically descending top to bottom – but for my purposes, this is illogically jumbled, and I have to hunt for tools visually; it is very annoying and time-wasting. Then I noticed they were in my proper order again… next day, jumbled. I’ve worked out what is happening. First Illustrator launch of the day… alphabetically jumbled. Reset the custom workspace… still jumbled. Shut down Illustrator and restart… tools in the correct order. It only takes a few minutes, but it’s a daily ritual I could do without.

13. Image links broken in Illustrator 29.8 for different users

    We work as a team on Windows, files are linked from an area like "C:\Users\UserName\SharedDrive\" where the user name changes based on the team member.

    Illustrator 29.4 can handle this change. For example, if Jane and I are working on the same file, she can place a file with a link C:\Users\Jane\SharedDrive\file name.jpg, and when I open the file, Illustrator updates the link to C:\Users\Sarah\SharedDrive\file name.jpg with no issues.

    Jane updated to Illustrator 29.8.2 and suddenly all her links appear as missing on my computer. I tried also updating to 29.8.2 and links remained broken. We both downgraded to 29.4 and she resaved the file, links are working again for both computers. This seems to be a bug in Illustrator 29.8.2.

14. Fonts used previously won’t load and miss in the document

    Many of the fonts aren't opening properly on the working files from the previous version of IIllustrator. It appears as I have no these fonts, but I sure had yesterday in 2024 version, so it's there :d

15. Character Panel Type, Leading and Scaling sizes have extra added decimals

    Ai 2025 v29.5 / Mac Sequoia 15.6 / M1 Macbook Pro / 32GB RAM - but happening on other macs with different configurations as well but same Ai version.
    We're noticing extra decimals are being added as shown in the attached screenshot. Despite choosing sizes from the drop-downs and then saving the file, the decimals return. I see a few others have posted about this previously but I haven't seen any resolution posts. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

16. Ai. files have no transparency

    I work with the latest illustrator (29.5. 1) and InDesign (20.3. 1). Since the last updates an .ai imported in InDesign is no longer transparent. If I save it as .eps in Ai, then yes. Please solve otherwise I would have to convert all my previously made .ai files.

17. Swatches Info doesn’t work for the only swatch selected

    If you only have 1 swatch selected you can’t create a Swatches Info from the Swatches panel’s menu. The only way to make it work is to make it 2 colors, select them and create the object, and then remove the unneeded color card from it manually.

    Hello, After the update (August 12, 2025?) my Adobe Illustrator template layers change to black after saving a new project. I have built a template with many layers and assigned a color to each layer. After the update, when I open the template and save it as a new project, or simply update the template and save it, all layers that had an assigned color change to black. Is this a bug or an issue on my end?

19. Problem with Grouping Layers

    I didn't use to have this problem and it doesn't seem to happen all the time, but when it happens it is annoying. That is, when I want to group two different sets of separately grouped objects into a grouped layer, what happens is that each of the layer groups with specific set of objects become combined into one single layer group. That is, the objects are no longer layer grouped by their original layer groups, but all the objects where combined into the same layer group. An Example would be: One layer group contains yellow objects and another layer group contains red objects. When I go into the layer panel and select both layer groups and hit ctrl G for group all the yellow and all the red objects become combined into a single layer group instead of the layer groups themselves becoming a sub-layer group of a sub group layer. Not only do I get this problem, but all the original layers that originally contained those separate layer groups become blank layers left on the template and that would be outright tedious to have to search through all the layers and delete the ones that are empty.
    I didn't use to have these problems so It must have been an update or something.

20. Export As in an action does not save parameters but uses ones from the latest export instead

    When you record 'Export As...' as an action, and use PNG format, the parameters (resolution, anti-aliasing type, background color) are not saved in the action, but are instead just picked up from the last used export.

    Is this not a big problem?
    Aren't actions supposed to be self-contained?
    If one toggles on the 'dialog' icon in the Actions panel (to let us pick settings on the fly), then it's no different from just choosing the Export As... menu item, so what's the point of the action?
