1. Recolor artwork with patterns doesn't work

   Using Mac OS Ventura 13.3
   Adobe Illustrator 29.2.1

   As described, I am able to access the recolor artwork panel but when I click OK it doesn't do anything. Video below. It used to work.

   This behavior can be controlled with the Preserve Black option inside of the Color Reduction Options dialog, hidden under a small button at the top of the Recolor dialog

2. Join Tool and overlapping paths - strange behavior

   Hello, UserVoice and Illustrator community!

   Join tool make strange behavior - problem with overlapping paths.

   I took a ready-made example with an umbrella from a pink outline.

   I used the join tool as in the example, everything is fine (it connected the intersecting outlines and the overlapping ones too).

   Then I moved the green element a little and the join tool started to behave strangely.
   Example on the top right (dark turquoise umbrella).
   The intersecting outlines worked well.
   But the overlapping ones - I did some nonsense, I got a loooong tail.

   I also moved the green element and it also looked strange.
   Example on the bottom right (blue umbrella).
   The intersecting outlines worked well.
   But it doesn't connect the overlapping ones at all, although they are located close to each other.

   The paths are actually diverge or the intersection happens after the paths are extended, and not shortened, as explained in the comments

3. SVG保存時にスワッシュ字形等が書き出されない

   再現手順
   1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に「Air」と入力し欧文フォント（スワッシュ字形が有効なもの）を指定する。
   2.OpenTypeパネルの「スワッシュ字形」と「タイトル用字形」をクリックする。
   3.SVG形式で保存。その際、フォントをサブセットで埋め込む。
   4.ブラウザ等で確認するとスワッシュ字形等がデフォルトの字形で表示される。

   期待する結果
   スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が正しく表示される。

   実際の結果
   スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が標準字形になる。

   SwashやTitlingAlternatesはスタイルに対してfont-feature-settings等の設定が必要になりますが、Illustratorはそういった設定を保存しません。また、フォントサブセットを保存した場合でも標準字形のグリフが保存されます。

4. Slow and Laggy on Latest OS MacOS 15.2 Beta

   While using the app since the OS update (15.2 Beta (24C5089c), selecting any items is very slow and often registered as a move instead of select, pretty unable. Also flagged with Apple in case its there side.

   It seems like using Magnet app together with Illustrator breaks something. Try to it for now (sadly, it is reported Ignore option does not do it).

5. Please allow files to reopen after crash/restart/reopen

   Please please Adobe - why is it almost every other company has managed to give us the option to reopen after quit with the same files open but you still haven't?? Today Creative Cloud told me I had 7 updates available and I thought, ok great, maybe just maybe the illustrator one fixes my snap to point problem. So I had to take a photo of what docs I had open (!), quit Illustrator and go back to Creative Cloud to do the update... only to find that it had changed its mind and I only had two updates but low and behold the icon had now updated. And no, neither of them were for Illustrator anymore so back I go.

   Nice icon... but really Adobe?! Please make my very expensive software work first!!

   Also, is it just me or are adobe cloud files crazily slow to load even on quite a quick connection?

6. Snap to point no longer works after update

   Updated to 29.3.1, snap to point stopped working despite being turned on. I rolled back to 29.3, and it works like normal.

7. CS２形式（AI、EPS）で保存したファイルが、IllustratorCS2で開けない。

   Illustrator2024（v28.7.1）を使用して、CS２形式（AI、EPS）で保存したファイルをIllustratorCS2で開けません。
   メモリが足りないというエラーが発生します。

   Illustrator2023には同様の問題はありません。

8. Only one pattern fill of many gets scaled when Transform Object option is disabled in the Scale dialog

   Take a look at the attached file and watch the GIF.

   I have an object with two pattern fills assigned, and I want to scale them both at once, but to leave the object unscaled.

   But when I call Scale dialog and uncheck 'Transform Object' option — only one of two fills gets scaled — the currently chosen one in the Appearance panel (despite my attempt to pick 'Path' there to somehow make my intention clear).

   Fill/Stroke Selector also displays the affected fill — and I surely understand it can’t have both. But what can we do to make it affect all fills?

9. Search for a file name in the Save As dialog on Mac doesn’t work

   When saving a file, searching for a filename, to add a V2 or FINAL as the end of the file name, does not work.

   I am using illustrator 2025 on Mac OS 15.4.1

   I have made sure that illustrator has full disk permission. See attached screenshots.

10. I have no idea what's going on when I try to save an image as Adobe PDF

    The app does not respond whenever I try to save my work under “Adobe PDF”. This has caused me to lose some of my works. I tried reentering Illustrator multiple times and yet it still happens.

11. White arrow to bind end-points in a design isn't functioning correctly. It doesn't allow to correct the curvature on a trace nor bind traces

    When I want to correct the curvature on a line or bind two ends of a line together, the white arrow function doesn't allow me to do so and moves the trace randomly on my design (just as if I were placing a picture on Microsoft Word: it moves everything at it's will...)

12. Do not scale text when you have a text style applied

    When I have selected multiple blocks of text or lines of text, I would like the option to scale the bounds as if I were selecting only one field, without scaling the font size — especially when a font style is applied. Alternatively, it would be helpful to have an option within the font styles to lock scaling. I often work on menus and need to lock scaling when moving or resizing groups of items. I wouldn’t mind needing to manually update the font style if I choose to scale text after locking document scaling.

13. 「ドキュメントの描画モードを分離」を適用したIllustrator形式ファイルを配置すると中身が表示されない

    1. 新規ドキュメント上に適当に図形を描画、描画モード（乗算など）を設定する。
    2. ドキュメントの描画モードを分離を設定してIllustrator2020形式（PDF五感）で保存する。
    3. 新規ドキュメントを作成し、先のドキュメントを配置する。
    4. 配置されたドキュメントの内容が表示されず、空白のドキュメントを配置した状態と同様にある。

    期待する結果
    配置ドキュメントを正常に描画する。

    実際の結果
    配置された「ドキュメントの描画モードを分離」を行ったIllustrator形式ファイルは内容を正常に表示できない。

    回避方法
    Illustratorドキュメントに配置する場合Illustrator形式ファイルではなく別途PDFを書き出せば配置は可能ですが、データによってはPDFが意図したとおり書き出されない場合があります。
    基本的にはドキュメントに対してのこれらの処理は行わずに個別に調整するのが無難です。

    ここでは「ドキュメントの描画モードを分離」を行ったドキュメントについて報告しましたが、「ドキュメントのグループの抜き」が適用されたIllustrator形式ファイルも同様の問題を抱えています。

14. Radial gradient not properly centered on some objects.

    Radial gradient should be centered on object's center, not on it's bounding box. It is possible to move the gradeint's start point and to scale the endpoint circle, but there is no way to move the center of the endpoint circle.

16. Layers palette filter grabs focus when pressing Ctrl-C

    Pressing Ctrl-C to copy something activates the focus on the filter field in the Layers palette. Using keyboard shortcuts becomes a landmine when this happens because you can inadvertently turn off layers or, in some cases, slow Illustrator way down by pasting SVG data into the field (Ctrl-V often follows pressing Ctrl-C). When the latter happens, Illustrator tries to filter by the text in the field, and it can take quite a while sometimes to regain focus enough to clear out the field. More often than not, however, I have to force quit and restart.

    A potential side effect of this has been the lack of ability to copy color or width values from their respective. When attempting to do so, the ug is randomly triggered. Sometimes the text does still copy, other times it does not.

    OS: MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1 (this has happened for a while across previous OS versions)

    AI version: 29.3.1 (this has happened with previous versions of AI, going back to the introduction of the filter feature)

    Pressing Ctrl-C to copy something activates the focus on the filter field in the Layers palette. Using keyboard shortcuts becomes a landmine when this happens because you can inadvertently turn off layers or, in some cases, slow Illustrator way down by pasting SVG data into the field (Ctrl-V often follows pressing Ctrl-C). When the latter happens, Illustrator tries to filter by the text in the field, and it can take quite a while sometimes to regain focus enough to clear out the field. More often than not, however, I have to force quit and restart.

17. "Verifying access to ://...."

    I have some problem with a file that has linked images pointing to a drive that I don't have access, nor will.

    Illustrator will open that file, prompt that there is linked files with broken links buy will show the thumbnail data from linked files, and then will show every 2 minutes a annoying popup trying to connect to this remote address.

    There is NO WAY to prevent this from preferences, or from the link panel.

    The popup is really annoying, you need to way a couple of minutes, Illustrator will block everything until you can stop the search.

    Sadly I cannot share some file, because there is some NDA involving it, but I can share what I think are the steps to reproduce de case

    1 - create a file,
    2 - link some images from a remote network server folder,
    save the file
    3 - share the file to someone that no longer has access to that IP address

    (the images are not embedded they are just linked images)

    The issue is reported to not happen anymore with version 29.3. Please comment back if it still does for you.

18. Text tool inserting wrong style

    If I have text typed out, then I try to change one letter it changes my font. For example I have the would "hot" typed in acumin regular, then I go to change the word to "got" and it might make the "g" bold or condensed or just an different style that is on the document. I am not using paragraph styles or character styles.

19. Top Bar Menu Items Stop Responding

    Platform: macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 Illustrator: 28.1
    While operating and working on a drawing portions of the Title Bar Menu no longer respond to clicks (File, Edit, Object, Type, Select, Effect, View Window) however the Illustrator and Help still respond.

    It was necessary to use keyboard shortcuts to save work and was necessary to quit and reload Illustrator and then load the file I was working on and the menu items now respond.

    Has happened numerous times while working on recent drawings.

    It seems like this problem happens only for Mac Sonoma users...

    Downgrading to a previous version of MacOS seems to be a viable workaround at the moment.

    This is not a proposed solution though.

    If this happens for you at earlier versions — please comment.

20. Modal panels for Free Transform tool, Dimension tool, Smooth, and Recolor pseudo-panel get hidden under other floating panels

    Free Transform Tool and Dimension Tool have several modes presented in small floating modal panels and appear only when the tool is picked.

    However, their z-order makes them hide under other floating panels, making it hard to find these pseudo-panels if a user choose to have real panels floating in the spot.

    It’s easy to locate them by hitting Tab, since they doesn’t get hidden like actual panels and toolbars, but you have to know the trick.

    I think their order should be above and not below.
