1. Fonts not showing after update to 29.8

   Intermittent issue there are only a handful of basic fonts avaible to choose from (myriad, arial and a couple others) where as I have thousands installed.
   Have downgraded to previous veriosn of illustrator for now (29.7.1) and it works again fine

   Zuher, please provide more information. Record a video, provide a test file or specific steps if there are specific actions needed, mention your OS and hardware details, the version number, so that the team could try to reproduce the problem at their side.

3. Enough with the memory sucking "upgrades" already!

   Hey Adobe, you've already forced us all to pay more for your subscription based software model now, so maybe instead of focusing so ******* building memory sucking AI generative tools for people who aren't artists, you should provide a version for the folks who don't need all this new ****. Stop messing with perfectly good and functional software that real artists want to use! I can't even tell you how many times the recent releases have crashed and I lost all my work, it's incredibly frustrating! I have a new macbook pro that can handle the demand, so the problems are clearly on your end. I miss the days of buying physical software. Give me Adobe Illustrator CS6 and stop forcing me to use your BS "upgrades" for more money, so sick of it!

4. I can't see any shapes I have created inside and outside the artboard, even when I have not selected any preview options

   I am not able to see any shapes, I created inside and outside the artboard. I made sure that none of the preview options are selected, still after zooming in and out whole shapes are disappearing from the illustrator software.

5. Illustrator sometimes reports the font is not installed but then finds it on its own

   Boa tarde, há uns dias abri um documento que dizia que o tipo de letra estava ausente e hoje ao abrir dizia que já tinha o tipo de letra utilizado naquele texto. Sendo que não instalei a fonte nem passei nenhuma ficheiro da mesma de um pc para o outro, podem dizer-me se isto é normal ou se há algum bug no vosso programa?

6. Acrobat PDF File Format error when saving .AI documents. The size of the passed callbacks struct is wrong.

   Illustrator 30.0 (64 bit.) windows 11 recently loaded then I updated to 30.0. since then 99 % of the time I open my current .AI files to update them and save them, I receive this error which I can't fix. The only way to bypass it is the save to the downloads folder and then over write the original unsaved file with the new version. This is affecting my production time, so it is quite urgent. It could be a setting but as I don't understand the message I can't fix it.

7. Illustrator freezing when clicking on top bar menu MacOS 15.7.2

   Currently in macOS Sequoia 15.7.2: on multiple iMac m1 24" running it, illustrator freezes sometimes when clicking the top menu bar, have to force quit. The bug is not replicable on a specific event, it just happens sometimes.

8. Quit making fonts unavailable (Neuropol)

   Almost every time that I open my menus and logos the fonts that I use are no longer available. I used the same Neuropol font for my menus and logos for 14 years before going to the cloud-based software. Since going to cloud based software I have had to resolve the missing Neuropol font to a slightly different variation at least 4 or 5 times. Not only is it annoying and time consuming, it is causing inconsistencies in my brand, and with this current update, it does not work at all.

9. Unidentified dash / gap values get shown as zeroes

   Make a simple test (as demonstrated in the attached GIF).
   Make sure you test this after relaunching Illustrator.
   Open Preferences > Units and make sure you have all three parameters (General, Stroke, Type) set to Points.

   A. Create a new document based on Web document profile
   B. Create a simple rectangle
   C. In the Stroke panel enable Dashed Line option

   The first 'dash' value would be 12 pt (or somethin else if you general units are not points), and the rest of the fields would be empty, undefined. It means Illustrator uses the same 12 pt for the gap.

   D. Now create a document using Print profile
   E. Create a rectangle
   F. Enable Dashed Line once more

   Looks the same, right?

   J. Go to Preferences again and change the General units to Millimeters.

   Look at the dash-gaps values — for some reason all values but one are now zeros!
   While it might SEEM like 'whatever', it’s actually not, and this bug was not present in CS6.

   K. Here’s why it’s a problem. Create a duplicate of this rectangle and tab through all the dash and gap fields in the Stroke panel, confirming these zeroes for real.

   Now you have a rectangle with the same exact values Ai had before, but it looks completely solid!
   And if you select the original one — it suddenly has only the first value dash set, and not all of them.

   So Ai just lies.
   For some reason when units get toggled (and it’s common when you work in both media at the same time), Ai puts 'zeroes' — but it doesn’t mean 'undefined'. This was working fine in older versions (I checked CS6).

   This causes us to believe the dash settings are not what they are.
   And while it seems like rare occurrence — no, it happens regularly, and it sucks.

   Please fix it.

   Make a simple test (as demonstrated in the attached GIF).

11. Illustrator 30.0 (2026) .ai files open at 1/10 scale in Adobe Acrobat and RIP software (Onyx) – large artboards only

    This issue is affecting multiple users in our environment with the following setups:

    Hardware: Apple Mac Studio (M1 and M2)

    OS: macOS Sequoia (and possibly the prior macOS version – behavior appears on machines that have not yet updated as well)

    Adobe Illustrator (desktop): 30.0 (2026 release)

    For the time being, we have reverted back to Illustrator 2025 where the same workflow works correctly.

    Basically:

    When we save .ai files with large artboards from Illustrator 30.0 (2026) and then open those files in our printer RIP software (Onyx), the artwork does not come in at the correct size. Instead, it appears at roughly 1/10th of the intended scale. This can also be replicated by opening the files in Acrobat.

    The same files saved as PDF from Illustrator 2026 open at the correct size in the RIP, and .ai files saved from Illustrator 2025 also open at the correct scale. This suggests the problem is specific to the Illustrator 2026 .ai format for large artboards.

    Steps to reproduce:

    On a Mac Studio (M1 or M2) running macOS Sequoia, open Adobe Illustrator 30.0 (2026).

    Create a new document with a large artboard (52x300).

    Add some content.

    Save the file as a native .ai file (Illustrator 2026 default format).

    Open the saved .ai file in Onyx (RIP software) or Adobe Acrobat.

    Compare the size reported by Acrobat or Onyx (or measured within the RIP) to the original artboard / artwork dimensions in Illustrator.

    For comparison:

    From the same Illustrator 2026 document, Save As → PDF with default or standard print settings.

    Open the PDF in Onyx or Acrobat and check the size.

    Repeat the same test using Adobe Illustrator 2025, saving an .ai file with the same artboard dimensions, and open that .ai in Onyx or Acrobat.

    Expected result:

    The .ai file saved from Illustrator 30.0 (2026) should open in Acrobat and Onyx at the exact same scale and dimensions as defined in the Illustrator document (matching the large artboard size).

    The size reported in the RIP should match the Illustrator artboard (just as it does with Illustrator 2025 .ai files and 2026 PDFs).

    Actual result:

    Illustrator 30.0 (2026) .ai files with large artboards open in Acrobat and Onyx at approximately 1/10th of the correct scale.

    The same artwork:

    Opens at the correct scale as a PDF exported from Illustrator 2026.

    Opens at the correct scale when saved as .ai from Illustrator 2025.

    So the incorrect scaling appears specific to 2026 .ai files + large artboards.

    Scope / notes:

    Issue has been reproduced by multiple users in our environment, all on M1/M2 Mac Studios.

    Affected OS: macOS Sequoia (and likely the previous macOS version on some machines; behavior appears consistent across both).

    The common factor is Illustrator 30.0 (2026) + large artboard .ai.

    PDF workflow works fine, as does Illustrator 2025, which is our current workaround, but we prefer to send native .ai files to the RIP, and we use the large artboards extensively.

    I would upload example files, but .ai files are apparently an invalid file type to upload here.

12. Extremelly laggy experience

    I have i9 14th gen CPU, 64 GB Corsair vengeance RAM , a 5090 RTX.. still my illustrator lags like crazy... It runs 10X smoother in my mac with M1 pro chip and 16GB RAM! This is soo annoying, I loose hours daily because of this lag...

13. Crash when minimised on file open

    When AI is minimised in Dock (latest MacOS), using right-click File, Open with in Finder causes AI to crash with no dialog. The AI window briefly opens before crash. AI v. 29.6.1

14. Objects invisible after leaving Isolation Mode

    After making changes in Isolation Mode the objects become invisible until I move it. This has been happening to me in many different files.

    The team says it’s fixed in Prerelease build 29.6.191.

    The fix is now scheduled to be pushed into the upcoming general release. If you are a part of the PR program, please check if it works.

15. Printer and settings won't stay selected

    Every other update makes the default printer not stay saved and selected. I also use a custom setting to make the PDF shrink to fit and that does not stay selected either. With my job of designing proofs and sending them out, this makes a huge time waster to have to select the printer each time, click done and then click print again to get the printer settings to come up.

17. Live Paint settings reset on restart

    Whenever I open Illustrator the settings for Live Paint reset themselves.
    I.E. I double-click on the tool, set the swatch preview to off and highlight on, but next time I open Illustrator swatch preview is back on and highlight is off.

19. Text Converted to Outlines Upon Copy in 2026 with Keyboard Maestro Installed

    When copying a live text object in Adobe Illustrator 2026 (point type, area type, type on a path objects), pasting with CMD+V or Edit > Paste converts the text into outlines when Keyboard Maestro Mac automation software is running.

    Quitting Keyboard Maestro Engine stops the behavior so that copying and pasting gives live text in the pasted object.

    Disabling com.adobe.svg as a clipboard copy flavor also fixes the problem, allowing copy and paste to preserve live text instead of creating outlines.

    This problem does not occur in Illustrator 2025 (29.8.3) or 2024 (28.7.10). User's history usage anecdotally confirms that the problem did not occur in any version of Illustrator '22, '23, '24, or '25.

    The problem is not because of a macro (tested with every group and macro disabled). If the Keyboard Maestro Clipboard History monitor is running, copying live text in Adobe Illustrator 2026 converts that text to outlines.

    Developer of Keyboard Maestro reviewed the bug and confirmed user's decision to report it to Adobe.

    Temporary solution: exclude Adobe Illustrator 2026 from Keyboard Maestro's Clipboard History via the KM Settings.

20. PDF Export for Screens saving full document even thought multiple files selected

    When you 'Export for Screens' as a range or tick certain artboards to export as PDF. These exported PDFs opens the full document rather than just the selected artboard. This happens when you open an exported PDF artboard in Illustrator 2026, but if you open it in 2025 version it opens as it should.
